Not bad! Service was really good but the food was just average. Steak was an inexpensive strip steak and just didn't have a lot of flavor. A1 Sauce helped a little. House salad was good. Rolls were a bit stale.

Stopped in for lunch and had the steak salad. Gotta say I was pleasantly surprised! Steak was cooked perfect and large portions for the price! It was clean, friendly and good service. Definitely will come back here!

We stopped in for a quick bite. They have a friendly staff and my veggie beef soup was freshly made. My boyfriend had grilled chicken ceaser salad that was also fresh and a good size with plenty to share.

Had Thanksgiving Dinner at the Clarion Inn. They advertised in the Clipper Magazine and had the cover...with a picture of their restaurant, The Peppermill Grille. I thought the Thanksgiving Dinner would be there. To my dismay......the "Thanksgiving Buffet" was set up on tables in an empty conference room. There were 6 or 7 chaffing dishes with canned food and dry turkey. The gravy looked like Elmers Glue. The "salad Bar" was a bowl of greens, red onion and cucumbers. It was hilarious. And has set a new "all time low" for meals to be compared to. But the absolute BIGGEST surprise, was the bill. $94 for 3. That's it. $94 for a meal that would have cost 8.95 a head and been a 1000 times better at EatNPark. No bar. No cocktails. No Mimosas. No music. I felt as if we were stranded in a snow storm, and this was what they put out for stranded guests. Not one of us could eat the Pumpkin pie. We think maybe they forgot to bake it. I have worked at the Salvation Army and served the homeless, and it was FAR better. Shame on you Clarion Inn. You should hang your head in shame. $94. for 3 people to eat a "canned" meal in a conference room. I felt like I was being punished. But there is always something good. We will laugh about that meal...FOREVER. I wish I could give it a "zero." I mean seriously. No Christmas music, no candles, no festivities, No centerpieces, no ANYTHING. AND Horrible food with a close to $100 price tag. What was wrong with me for NOT walking away....or refusing to pay?????

The first time my husband and I ate here the food and service were amazing. Last night when we are here, it was anything but. For starters, my husband, our son and myself ordered water to drink with an appetizer of hot cheddar cheese cubes. When the waters came out, 2 of the 3 glasses still had lipstick on the rim. All we got was an apology and new water. By this time, our stomachs were turning from the thought of how properly everything else would/would not be cleaned. The hot pepper cheese cubes came out, no ranch as stated in the menu. Took the waitress 5 minutes to come back with a small (plastic) cup of ranch. Thank goodness it was plastic because God knows if it would be been clean otherwise. The food came out promptly. The pickles on the plates tasted like they had been sitting in the dishwasher...gross to think that they were probably picked off another plate. My husband's reuben sandwich was so dry...and since we refused to drink anything was nearly inedible. My bbq bacon cheese burger was SO saucy that I literally had bbq sauce dropping off my face and down my arms...with only one napkin. My son's triple grilled cheese was good in his 9 year old opinion, however he too was concerned about the cleanliness of the place. The waitress butted into our conversation several times to interject her own opinions on our topics. When the bill finally came, no discount for the dirty dishes we had to point out to the waitress. It took 20 minutes for her to come back and take the check. Needless to say, it will be a long time if we ever go back.

Only if you're desperate or have been traveling all day! The bartender was clueless! Pouring shots and a beer does not a bartender make! The food satisfies ones hunger but typical bar food. It's new, so I hope the bugs get worked out. The area could use a decent place to get a drink and some good food! But for god's sake hire some competent personnel!

They've done a major update on this place from when it was Twyla's. The bar looks pretty modern and classy. You can tell the employees are tight knit. They seem very genuine and the food was pretty decent. The beer selection is light and in general it's not a very full-service bar, but they have all their bases covered.I imagine it might be fun to come here on a friday night to warm up before heading out to bars, but my gripe is that it's so far from everything. The one problem I really didn't like: The whole building is kind of scary and divey. Not much lights in the parking lot. I had a girl with me who was foreign, and she got weird looks from everybody at the bar. A guy drove past her in the parking lot and stared at her with his window down like he was gonna yell something at her. It made both of us really uncomfortable. So if you are foreign, be careful of racists here and I recommend you concealed carry in case you need to protect yourself.I don't know what the restaurant can do to prevent this type of interaction, but I think the hotel could add some more lighting and make the place look a bit less creepy - that would probably help. I don't really totally blame this on the bar, but at the same time, it hasn't happened anywhere else we've gone, including some of the more seedy areas. I highly doubt the people that run this place are bad or racist people, but if the clientele are like that, I can't ignore it...But regardless, the food is good and I will return. Maybe that girl just won't want to go with me anymore...lol
