What a lovely surprise! We went to the yarn store next door and figured we could get some basic bar food at their outside seating... bench? Thing. Instead we had the best soft pretzels of our lives (I grew up in Germany, these were GERMAN soft pretzels), and amazing dill chips, and a charming, friendly, entertaining bartender who was entirely too lovely for a Saturday at 11am. I don't live here, but you can bet money we're coming back here next time we go yarn shopping next door.

Decent watering hole in depressed town within PGH city limits. If you go at night beware of the uptight bouncer who thinks he plays for the Steelers. Aggressively rolled up on me while walking across bar, forced me outside then after I let go to move on decided to cowardly push me to the ground in an obvious attempt to cause harm. Tho he failed to do much I still reported it, police requested video but bar declined to provide. Glaringly unprofessional with obvious anger issues. Perhaps now that I said something he'll think twice next time about assaulting a patron but that remains to be seen. If you're stuck in Millvale for a bit Smokey's is a much more interesting and welcoming spot, but after a drink or 2 there just cross the bridge to Lawrenceville or grab an uber to Pittsburgh proper.

Another cute little neighborhood bar with flavor of locals and others. Decent drink prices and nice outdoor stage for Millvale Music Festival.

Cool, fun live music and many great microbrews on tap for reasonable price. Definitely check out Millvale music festival each year!

BE AWARE!!!!! Horrible service!! I would not go there ever again! If you or a friend or family member just turn 21 and looking for a bar to experience your new privilege, this is not the place. We didn't get carded at all which was a bummer considering I just turned 21 and was the whole purpose of being able to go to a bar now. On top of that I went with 4 of my friends and right out of the gate we were asked to split up because "we had to many people". Right across from us there was a party of 6 with people constantly coming up and adding onto that number. When we asked the bartender(who was wasted) why that rule applied to us and not them he got defensive and when I preceded to ask him when he didn't card us he threatened to take my buddy out back and implied he would whoop his ass. So before we left I said listen I haven't been hostile at all I haven't cussed or anything towards you. My name is isaiah what's yours? He got mad at the question called the cops on us and overall just a bad first experience. If I could give negative stars I would!!!

I used to work at another bar around the corner from Double L. We would always come here for late night drinks after the shift. Service was always superb and prices are great. It's a tiny bit divey but in a awesome way that makes it feel friendly. Would come here anytime!

This is one CLEAN bar that somehow allows smoking. They have an excellent selection of local and craft brews, very friendly bartenders, small but ultra clean kitchen (it's right behind the bar, wide open, so you'd have to keep it clean) and happy hour specials. Millvale is a cool, hip little town w/o the riffraff & trouble of the South Side. Give this place a try, you'll be hooked...!

Came here before a show, so about 530ish, so I can't really attest to the crowd. But the place still keeps a cozy atmosphere. I expected some shrewd service at first, but the bartender was pretty sweet. I'd definitely come back at a later time if I were able to.P.S. It's kinda weird to mention, but the bathroom is exceptional for a "dive bar". Maybe it's because I keep low expectations or because nobody trashed it yet, but it's actually really clean.

We've been here many times over the years. Though it had been awhile. But be forwarned! Yesterday, Friday, the bar was fairly lively. It was loud! People there between 5-630 yell in this place. They gave me a headache. Two people were playing darts. They sat at a table at the end of the bar, there is a table at the dart board for 4. No one could sit here as they told us they didn't want to throw darts at us! They should have taken this table, but they didn't. It has a very "yinzer' vibe. Do not recommend any of the food. Drinks and service are above par.

Used to be one of our favorite bars. Unfortunately the music being played belongs in a night club. Watched 4 customers leave after one drink, as did we
