Dog House Diner

Passing through town and saw this cute diner. We sat at the counter and struck up conversations with the owner, Sam, and our retired teacher turned waitress. Super friendly and comfy place! If I lived in the area, this would be my favorite breakfast spot!My partner had the Eggs Benedict and I had the corned beef hash and eggs with hash browns extra crispy. He loved his breakfast! I'm a sucker for corned beef hash even straight from the can. Cook made the hash extra crispy on the flat top. Delicious! Can't say enough about how sweet this place is!!!

This place is seat yourself. Once sat a waitress came up right away asking about drinks. After drinks were bought she gave us a fee more minutes to think about food. I ordered their sausage egg n cheese on a pretzel bun (extra $) with home fries extra crispy. I enjoyed my sandwich I do wish the bun was warm though. My fiancé did not really like his meal. He mentioned his french toast was ok and the biscuit that he got was really dry.

It's a small town diner. If you go in with those expectations you know what you are getting. I ordered the Superman combo and it was exactly as advertised nothing more nothing less. The eggs were cooked to my liking. The bacon was the best part. The perfect balance of crispy and flow and thickness. The home fries left a lot to be desired as they could have been a little bit more crispy. French toast and pancakes were fine nothing unique about them. Service was traditional diner service. You get your cup of coffee and order in and that's it, which is totally fine by me.

Great food, fast service and the prices are great! Worth the drive from the city to Washington.

We stopped here on a road trip. Overall great breakfast, good price, and a phenomenal pancake.

Super nice staff, great service, good price point, interesting menu, fine looking pies. Sort of just ok food. Perhaps what we chose? Don't let my luke warm culinary criticism invalidate my opening sentence! A quick lunch.

I stopped in for breakfast and glad I did.The waitress arrived very quickly and brought coffee and took my order.I ordered and received pancakes, crispy bacon, and crispy hash browns exactly the way I like them!The bacon was delicious as well as the hash browns! the pancakes were large and very good too!I enjoyed the space between tables and lively environment.I recommend you stop in!

I am spoiled. I often have breakfast/brunch at The Original Pancake House in Mount Lebanon: it is the gold standard to which few places measure up. Dog House Diner is okay. The building is nothing to look at. The place is nondescript, no ambience, although there are some interesting photos of old Washington, Pennsylvania. Booths are small and the person on one side is very close to those on the other. At the Original Pancake House, the booths can comfortably seat at least six if not eight: it is spacious. Our meals at Dog House Diner were satisfactory and the prices are fair. The service was friendly and efficient. Hours are a convenient 5 AM to 3 PM and that is seven days a week, a rarity in this business. None in my party of three is dying to return.

Good food but almost slipped when there was no mats on the floor and it was slick. Very unsafe

Had a nice, inexpensive breakfast. Basic small diner. It was pretty good. I have to write more in order to post review...theres nothing finer than being in your diner.
