DiCarlo's Pizza

Finally got the chane to check out the legendary DiCarlo's! I really enjoyed the 3 slice combo, & the kids loved rhe pepperoni rolls. I am a fan of the Ohio Valley Style pizza that we get closer to home at Beato's. Comparitvely, Dicarlo's has a smoother sauce with more thang, and a thinner crispier crust. I think the aize of the cut is a bit smaller than Beato's. Both are delicious if you're in the mood for Ohio Valley Style pie!Service was quick, and there was a cozy seating area.

Grew up eating this pizza, stopped in recently while in town and glad to see it hasn't changed. If you've never had it before, hopefully you've picked up that the cheese goes on after it comes out of the oven. Very different style, people either love it or they don't. Worth trying if you've never had it. I always just get pepperoni with extra cheese. It's best right out of the oven when the crust is crispy and the cheese hasn't melted at all. If you take it home the crust with probably not be crispy and the cheese will melt a bit. If you find yourself liking the unmelted cheese and you're not eating there, think about getting your extra cheese on the side in a bag.

First time here. Pizza is unique. Crust and sauce is cooked and the cheese is put on top after and not melted. I wasn't sure at first but would definitely come back.

This pizza is a little different, you first bake the bread, then the hot fresh bread melts the cheese. They sell pizza by the slice, two slices are enough for a grown man. This location is in downtown Wheeling. They have been in business for many years now.

Barbie likes to eat a few slices of this amazing unique delicacy and then rush to the hotel room, pizza box in hand, where she makes me put the DiC in DiCarlo's. And in other places too.Who knew that Wheeling West Virginia would have such wonderful signature pizza - as the hipsters would say. It's truly remarkable and delicious.It's very unique to West Virginia and especially this little corner of it... at the north end. It's basically an invention of Wheeling itself and a wonderful one at that.DiC is a wonderful little pizza shop located in Wheeling and who would have thought that Wheeling would have its own style of pizza? Not only is it very specific to West Virginia but it's actually delicious. Surprisingly shockingly and unequivocally delicious.For these reasons we love it and for this reason I will probably keep coming here in future on many occasions - hopefully long into the future. My ex loves it, my current loves it, if there are any future ones, probably co-dating with my current, hopefully they'll love it too.One of the best pizza places in the country I would definitely rated top 20 especially for its uniqueness and awesomeness.It's amazing that so many different parts of the USA have their own pizza and I guess it shows that the USA really cares about pizza. Ok--my family and I fell in love with this place, and it was our first try. At the recommendation of a friend, we tried this after years of him telling us to make the drive down to try it. Since we were in the area on our way down to Oglebay, we gave it a shot. And, boy...I REALLY wish we would have tried it sooner.We had to eat it in the car, picnic style... and the pizza was so good, that it didn't even matter that we were all stuffed in the van, elbows deep with each other.The crust--fantastic. We ordered it "crispy", as it was one of the options, and man...unreal. We ordered the cheese "melted", as that was also one of the options, and it was very good. The sauce--my new favorite, of all time. This just became my favorite pizza. And, we live so far away, that I am honestly really sad. Wish I had enough money to offer a franchise, and open it in my backyard. :)Dreaming of the day when we can make the drive back down.

I remember the first time I had this pizza years ago. I ordered two slices and when I got to my truck I ate them both and then proceeded to walk back in and order two more slices. Yeah, it's that good!It's one of my favorite pizza places in WV but the Elm Grove one was always my favorite. I haven't ate there since it changed names but I assume it is still the same, hopefully!I see some people on here have complained about not liking the unmelted cheese but why would you even order it then considering they are specifically known for it. Ask for it melted if you don't think you will like it cold. Simple! Personally, I love it!The crust is the perfect thickness and the crunch is just right. The sauce has just the right amount of tang and sweetness.I will always get a slice or two with extra cheese when I am in the area and you should too.

This pizza is different than those "other" pizza places. The crust has a crispy crunch and the pieces are square. The pieces are easy to hold and the toppings do not slide off. The mozzarella cheese is put on after it's been baked. Their service is good and you can eat in or take out

Always good with Covid and staffing issues everywhere they seem to figure it out usually fast even when busy

I have been eating DiCarlo's pizza for over 40 years and I have to say this was the best that I have ever eaten. I don't know the young man's name that was cooking on Thursday, 12/14/23 at around 4:30 pm in the downtown location, but hats off to him. My father also thought it was excellent. I no longer live in Wheeling, and I always get some DiCarlo's when I am in town. I even had some the last time I was in Myrtle Beach this Fall. When I lived in Wheeling I ate pizza from DiCarlo's at least once a week.
