Dee Jay's BBQ Ribs & Grille - Wexford

I had lunch there with a group. The service was excellent and friendly. I had 1/2 rack of ribs, sweet potato fries and string beans. The ribs were tender with the right amount of sauce and the green beans were fresh. I will definitely be back.

Nice folks, just ok bar food. The Italian Beef was kind of slimy vs the trie chicago Italian beef. The ribs weren't as tender as i'd hoped. I was looking for "fall off the bone" ribs. Also no spicy version of sauce ?( even a little bit )Just adequate.

Fall off the bone ribs , flavorful baked beans ( extra delicious topped with cheese and a squirt of bbq sauce ) creamy coleslaw - mac & cheese wasn't great - Mac was over cooked and dish was under seasoned. Service is A+ Bartenders are friendly and make great drinks , manager is present and ensures customers have all they need . Join their rewards program as they always have discounts - overall highly recommend!

Dee Jay's BBQ is a small local restaurant chain. For this location in Wexford, the menu lists appetizers (e.g., loaded potato skins, pretzel bites, and chicken wings), several salads (e.g., steak, chicken, and salmon), several sandwiches (e.g., cheesesteak, roast beef, and pulled pork), entrees (e.g., ribs, BBQ chicken, and salmon), sides (e.g., coleslaw, green beans, and sweet-potato fries), and desserts (e.g., strawberry shortcake, peanut-butter pie, and cheesecake). Please see my attached photos for the menu in April 2024.I made a reservation for my husband and me for the restaurant's opening time of 11 AM on Saturday. I did not actually need a reservation, though, because we were the first customers there! The seating hostess and waiter promptly and politely served us. Here are my husband's and my ratings for our foods:BBQ shrimp appetizer - 4 stars - Several shrimps were cooked perfectly and covered in a flavorful sauce. On the side was spoon bread, which tasted OK and was cold.Shrimp salad - 4 stars - This salad was a large size and contained fresh lettuce, shrimp, cucumbers, red onions, bleu cheese, and raspberry vinaigrette. Rib and pulled pork combo - 4 stars - The ribs were a smaller size than what some other retaurants serve, but they were tender and tasted delicious (4.5 stars). My husband and I thought that the pulled pork tasted OK and contained much fat (3 stars). For sides, my husband chose baked beans (4 stars) and sidewinder fries (5 stars).This restaurant also has a full bar, catering, and a rewards program.

1st time visiting. A bit underwhelmed. Ribs were good (fall off the bone) but on the small side & coated in sauce. Sides that came with our" super platter" were small and cold. Our server was friendly & had them replaced quickly. The interior of the restaurant is dark & not quite sure what the vibe is supposed to be. Our beers - not pictured below - were $8.50. One tip I would give is sign up for their rewards app & you can save $10. We may go back for happy hour or at least to redeem my free brownie I won on their rewards wheel upon leaving.

I've been to another Dee Jay's location but this was my first time visiting the Wexford spot. My friends wanted a new spot to try so we selected Dee Jay's. I was the first to arrive and got us a seat in the main dining area. It was still happy hour so I looked over the specials and decided to order chips and dip and pretzel bites for the table. I was surprised that there is no happy hour drink pricing u less seated at the bar. But let me tell you the app happy hour special was great. They have $5, $6,$7 offerings. The two I selected were both $5. They came out quickly and the serving size was massive! There were so many homemade chips and a huge portion of fresh and tasty onion dip. The pretzel bite serving was also big, but the cheese sauce was somewhat small. We all talked, enjoyed the apps and then ordered a bit later. I opted for a bbq beef sandwich which was sliced roast beef with bbq sauce and onion straws on a Kaiser roll. It was good, but needed a bit more sauce for my liking. The sides that were available were their sidewinder fries or coleslaw. I opted for fries and they were decent. The folks joining me all enjoyed their meals. The star of the evening were the apps though. Our service was good. The place was clean and the food was very reasonably priced.

Stopped for lunch after church and found the place very cozy and pleasant. The wait staff was light but attentive. I hit the Beef on Weck sandwich and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. Both were large and very good. The pulled pork is more savory than sweet. Kinda missed the BBQ sauce caddies that a lot of barbecue places have in case you want to add a bit more sauce.

Had a better experience than the first time. Menu is updated and consistent to the website. Saw photos of the ribs and I've seen way bigger portions for cheaper price points. That's said. The apps are solid value at happy hour. The onion "loaf" is a bit misleading on menu as it's just onion rings. The horseradish cream was very good. The brined chicken tenders very good as well but once again didn't enjoy the dipping sauce it's served with (but luckily their bbq sauce and horseradish more than make up for that. Best value is the pulled pork loaded spiral fries. A few more jalapeños for crunch would be nice but tasty bites.

This was a wonderful experience all around! We went to the original Dee Jays over 10 years ago, and we never remembered it much so we assumed we didn't like it. Last Friday, this was the complete opposite! We sat at a high top table in the bar...great TVs. I had the half rack of ribs with sidewinder fries and green beans. All items were outstanding. My husband got half ribs half pulled pork with coleslaw and baked beans. He couldn't pick his favorite side or favorite meat. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back!

Family recommended Dee Jay's for our pre-concert meal (Springsteen!) We were visiting from Tampa, FL. What an enjoyable meal...from the moment Brenda greeted us, through her outstanding service with a smile. We enjoyed the attention, ambience, the food & comfort. Great selections with very fresh and tasty ingredients!!
