Dee Jay’s BBQ Ribs & Grille

Our waitress Kayla was amazing. Had reservations on Valentines Day however they only had 2 waitresses taking care of a packed room of tables. Management needs to plan better on a holiday with a special menu. Despite this Kayla was pleasant and attentive. Gave 4 stars because this is the 3rd visit in a row that they were out of French dressing.

Since the place changed awhile back so has the taste/quality of the food. We have tried lunch twice now and both experiences the same. Pulled pork sidewinder, chicken bites,ribs & sides. Missing the seafood options too.

Stopped while on a business trip wasn't expecting much. Pretty typical restaurant , large and a large bar. Ordered the spoon cornbread as an app. That cornbread jalepeno bead pudding was delicious. The maple butter puts it over the top. Ordered the ribs and shrimp with coleslaw and sweet potatoes. Food came out pretty fast and service was very good. The ribs are fall off the bone which means it's over cooked. But was good. The sauces were good. The original was not great but the sweet one was very good. The Cole slaw was very good. The sweet potatoe fries were also good. The shrimp were also tasty. Ordered the strawberry shortcake ala mode. It was delicious. A layered cake with strawberries and whipped cream and ice cream. The ice cream was rock hard, wild have liked it a bit softer. All in all pretty good for a bbq joint in the middle of West Virginia/ Pennsylvania.

Absolutely rotten and keeps getting worse. Came to Weirton in 2021 and I'm a huge fan of barbecue sandwiches , not ribs, but pulled pork or beef brisket. It was actually fairly ok. Not great but maybe a 7 on a scale. Kind of sweet but not too bad. Keep in mind it's the only barbeque place within 20 miles. So not much choice. Then starting in 2022, became disgusting. Sometimes you bit in it and got little bones or hard things. Taste was bad too. My guess is that the place was sold? I'm not sure. All I know is that you must get it "sweet" and they don't offer anything but sweet style, which is not good.

The food is excellent the ribs are to die for!Can't say enough about how good the food is but take some money with you, like a lot of moneyIt's pricy!

Nice place in Weirton, West Virginia only thirty minutes from Pittsburgh. The interior is nice and has a Margaritaville vibe with neon Andy tropical themes. Four of us ordered their specialty- ribs. The ribs came out fairly quickly and were super tender. My friend picked up his first bone and the meat just slid right off. Delicious. One can ask for a bolder sauce for the ribs, but the house sauce was just fine. Sides included cole slaw, loaded potato skins and apple sauce. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We shared deserts: peanut butter pie and pumpkin cheesecake. Very good. Our server was fantastic. She answered every question quickly and hustled. Great service.

My brother has been raving about this place forever, and he finally took us. We were surprised on a Friday night at 6:30 that there was no line as he said it gets packed. The 4 of us were quickly seated and our server took our drink order.The atmosphere is very fun and reminds me of a Jimmy Buffet place. There is an extensive drink menu and the food menu looked great. I had been convinced to have ribs, so didn't really look at anything else. I got the half rack, coleslaw and potato skins (which were also recommended).Our food came quickly and looked great. I love that they put a bowl on the table for bones. The ribs were definitely fall off the bone tender and the sauce was good, but not great. I like lots of sauce, and probably something not as sweet. I liked the potato skins and the coleslaw was good.Overall, I liked it, and if I lived close by, I would get my rib fix here, but I wouldn't drive as far as we did.

Enjoyed lunch at DJ's on Tuesday. It was delicious. Service was great. There were 6 of us and all our meals were great. Fish sandwiches are highly recommended. Roast beef sandwiches along with barbecue shredded chicken were also enjoyed. Highly recommend DJ's. Manager made sure we were pleased.

Visiting back home and wanted a staple in Weirton, but I don't think that exists anymore. The customer service is still there but the food quality is not. The menu has changed drastically and doesn't give the same ambiance that once existed. The food quality is not great. The side salad was so small I thought they didn't give me it, but found it in the bag with the bread. The zucchini planks were soggy and lacked flavor. The change in their French fries were underwhelming. The BBQ sauce has changed, but not for the good. Overall, I have heard of the changes not being liked by locals and I can see why. Dee jays has gone down hill and I don't think I'll be spending my money there again anytime soon.

The service is great. The ribs were a little over seasoned (salty)Overall a good meal.
