Danny’s Pizza and Hoagies

I'm a big fan. I live in Chicago where the best food is made and this toasted sub would compete. If a half was $10 like most places, I'd give it 4 stars due to the amount of meat, but it's $6.50 which is very affordable - and the half is big. Don't go in there expecting a Jimmy John's fast sub - it takes time and it's worth the wait. I'll make it a place I frequent when I come visit the in-laws.

WOW! First had the itL8an hoagie about 40 years ago, and it is still amazing! Maybe even better than before! Nice crispy crust, generously filled, and fast service, you won't be disappointed.

I ordered take out from here in Friday. Was expecting it to take a bit but I only waited 15mins. Pick up was easy and very straight forward. The cashier that helped me was very nice. Their Italian reminded of grinders from back home so that was pretty nice. Really enjoyed their bread. Thought their half size was pretty filling. I asked for their dressing on the side and they gave me plenty which was really nice. While I was inside I did see a guy with a cheesesteak that looked to die for so may have to try again to give that a shot.

Italian hoagie was as good as it's ever been. Great combination of meats, cheese, sauce, lettuce, tomato,onion in perfect proportions. Fresh hoagie roll with the oil and Italian seasoning on the top half of roll, fresh shredded provolone/mozzarella over the meats then oven baked. Topped with shredded lettuce, tomato and onion. I think the magic happens when the top half closes on the lettuce and the hot oil and seasoning distribute down to the bottom half. The toasty roll and combination of flavors are fantastic! The Sicilian cuts, while not the cuts of distant past, were excellent with a rich tomato sauce, crisp edges and a light but chewy inside. Pleasant surprise. I haven't had their round pie in many years because it just wasn't very good (may be better now, idk). Highly recommend a couple of Sicilian slices to complement an Italian, which imo, you won't find a better hoagie anywhere!

I picked up a pizza to go yesterday for dinner, and had leftovers for lunch today. It is a great tasting pizza. I ordered it online using the Toast app and it was ready when I got there. I will be back. Picking it up was easy enough although space is tight inside.

It's been years since we had a Danny's Hoagie, it was good to taste the same yummy Danny's we were used to.My husband loves the Philly Cheese steak style hoagie with sauce, and I always get the Philly Cheese steak hoagie with everything. The hoagies are so good, it's worth the drive to get one.Our last visit, everything seemed really unorganized, with a long wait for hoagies to go. We're happy they've reopened but are disappointed they are only open 4 days a week.

Doesn't matter how long it takes me to get back to my hometown... Danny's Italian hoagies are arguably the best in the country and never disappoint!

Ordered four individual cuts from Danny's and was very disappointed. What happened to the thin square cuts with sauce and cheese from years back. What we got was a Sicilian style thick cut that reminded me of junior high lunch on pizza day - but worse. Very little sauce and cheese on a thick slice of Italian bread. It was dry in texture, however, the flavor wasn't bad. Oh well...we will stick with their iconic Italian and steak hoagies which never disappoints.

Best hoagies hands down in pittsburgh! They have been there forever it seems. Their hoagies are cooked to perfection and crispy..! These are not skimpy..they use a generous amount of meat and cheese..
