According to Dagu's website, this restaurant has locations in four cities including in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Its menu focuses on many rice and noodle dishes and also lists many beverages. Please see my attached photos for the menus in November 2024.My husband and I have customers at this location for their teas, which are available in dozens of unique flavors. Most recently, my husband ordered a passionfruit-orange tea with popping boba. An employee promptly and politely served us. This restaurant has many tables for indoor dining. We got our tea to-go. The tea tasted really great.

Used to come here a lot so thought I'd stop in yesterday. Was quickly seated and they were fairly busy for lunch. I like how the walls tell you a bit about the food and history, I think it adds a nice touch. Ordered the salty crispy chicken app, it could've been deep fried a bit less since the chicken was not that juicy, it still hit my fried chicken craving. I also ordered the spicy crossing the bridge noodle soup, def on the spicier side of a normal spice dish so I loved it but be warned that it's similar to Sichuan spice. I got it with beef slices and I thought it added a nice touch. Also ordered the honeydew mojito (it's non alcoholic) and thought it was delicious. Overall, had a great lunch and will be stopping by again!

I came to Dagu Rice Noodles 大鼓米线 was because I prefer rice noodles over wheat noodles for lower carbs. Thanks to few reviewers warning about tips are added automatically on the bill. So, the actual cost of the dish is inflated by 18%. I ordered Spicy Flavored Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles Soup 麻辣过桥米线 $11.99 with sliced lamb as add-on $3.25. Strange thing was that I got rice noodles and a bowl of soup but no toppings. I had to ask cashier for it. The soup was good and got a good level of mala spiciness - lips numbing effect. But the rice noodles were overcooked. If you know the story of "Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles", this was not done correctly. Background story was from a husband-wife household. Wife prepares husband's lunch while he works on the other side of the bridge. She packed the noodles, vegetables and soup separately. He just soaked the noodles in the hot soup for 10 seconds, dunk all vegetables in the soup and stir. I read a few reviews to learn about the soft noodles. My noodles were already soft and didn't need to soak. That took the fun out of eating my Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles.

As a Chinese-American, I was super excited about a rice noodle place opening up! Dagu Rice Noodle does a decent job with fair prices and decent dishes. The service was fine and seating is fast. I ordered the original Crossing the Bridge Noodle Soup with lamb, and I loved the presentation. The soup comes out hot, and the noodles come separate along with extra sides (cabbage, green onions, bamboo, etc). They also let you order a second serving of noodles at no extra charge, so I recommend getting the second noodles to go for a meal to-go!

The location is great and the staff is very friendly. The food is the worst I have had in along time. I ordered a rice noodle curry with chicken. The curry was very water and very salty. It was more liquid than, ingredients which included, it was topped with ice burg lettuce that was swimming in the curry. On the bottom were fragments of chicken with thin slices of mushroom and green onion. It also contained a one slice of tofu and a one slice of imitation crab with about 6 pieces of corn. I hate to waste food, so I really tried to eat. But it was lost cause, I threw it out. I don't recommend going here, there are a lot of other options in Squirrel Hill.

The soup was nice and hot and very tasty. Great service. We also ordered bubble tea. They were not too sweet. Glad I found a place that sells good soy milk foam bubble tea, taste similar to what I had back in HK.

Hello fellow Yelpers! We were so happy to see a rice noodle place crop up! One of us is from Hong Kong and we've tried Asian food around in China, Los Angeles, New York City, DC to name a few places and we have to say that this is Chinese style for sure and tastes AMAZING. These noodles match up the style that we've had in China pretty darn accurately.Warning: EAT IN if you want the best experience for the noodles. If you take home, though they do separate the noodles and soup, the noodles loose that perfect Al Dente chew that you get to control because in restaurant you can place it into the soup at your own pace. This is because the noodles end up steaming in the container on the way home and end up way softer. The portion is pretty decent and comes in a stone pot. The noodles are indeed spicy as well! The restaurant is nice and clean and matches the flavor that is sour and spicy just like you would get in China. The one star deduction is because the service (like many other Chinese restaurants) leaves something to be desired, you have to grab people for attention, they have some English speakers but mandarin is definitely the default. However they aren't mean or rude by any stretch, we'd say brave it and try something new!If you're looking for some authentic Chinese cuisine and a new experience definitely come on by and support here! The store is nice and clean and modern. The food is tasty, and the selection is huge with all things rice noodle. It's a unique experience for those who haven't had it and it's amazing that we have such an authentic taste in Pittsburgh! If you're craving any boba teas they have a large selection as well! Definitely stop by in the winter to warm your soul :)Thank you so much for reading, stay safe and well out there. Thanks for being...YOU! :)

I love that the food comes in a sizzling pot. Because of this the broth is hot and flavorful. The noodles are bouncy and can get a little soft once you add them to the pot. The service is super quick and the waitress is very nice. The crispy chicken appetizer is a great snack and is very well seasoned. The tables are all very close together so you can kind of hear everyone around yous conversations though. Definitely will return again for this hot, large bowl of noodle soup!

Avoid Avoid Avoid! This has to be the worst dining experience I've ever had in terms of both food and service. We ordered a bowl of rice noodles and a bowl of beef brisket rice. Let me start with the rice noodles. The few slices of paper-thin beef were charged an extra $3.25, along with crab meat sticks cut into thirds, a few kernels of corn, some paper-thin luncheon meat, and a small bowl of rice noodles. Now, let's talk about the real problem: the beef brisket rice! It was absolutely disgusting. It was completely inedible because the beef was like rubber bands. We couldn't chew it, so we called the waitress over. The first thing she said was, "I already told you not to order the rice. You should have ordered side dishes. Now that you've tasted it, I can't change it for you." I thought to myself, how could I have known it was impossible to chew if I hadn't tried it? She then claimed only uneaten dishes can be exchanged--does she expect them to take the dish back to the kitchen and serve it to the next customer? I was so shocked by her response that I couldn't speak. She simply walked away. She then brought over some side dishes from another table to show me what I "should have ordered," implying that I made the wrong choice by ordering the large beef brisket. I asked her to bring the owner, but she confidently told me the owner wasn't there. I then asked her to call the manager because I couldn't believe any restaurant would treat customers like this. However, instead of calling the manager, the waitress offered us a free bowl of noodles, which normally costs $2. She said we could share it, with my husband getting my soup portion. We spent $32 in total, and they were offering us noodles worth less than $3. We couldn't accept it and had completely lost our appetite. At the front desk, she was constantly on her phone, which was extremely unprofessional. When we went to pay, she gave us a disdainful look while processing our bill, as if we were interrupting her phone call. After we got home, I read other reviews of the restaurant and was shocked. They automatically charge an 18% tip for two people, and there was a foreign object in the milk tea. They claimed it was placed there by a customer who wanted a free drink. Please avoid this restaurant, as it will give you a terrible experience.
