We've visited every microbrewery in the Pittsburgh region, so imagine my surprise when a friend recently mentioned a brewery I hadn't heard of! It just opened this June, and last night we finally stopped by. Not only did we score a Laurel Highlands Pour Tour sticker, but we also got to sample their beers on tap.I tried four different brews:Rex's Rd - A classic Irish Red with a 5.2% ABV. I loved it! It had a wonderful aroma and wasn't as heavy as most Irish Reds.Sandpiper - A traditional Pale Ale at 6% ABV. This was one of my favorites, perfectly balanced and smooth.West Coast IPA - Coming in at 6.7% ABV, it had the right amount of bitterness and was well-crafted.Hey. Z! - A hazy IPA (my personal favorite style) at 6.7% ABV. While it wasn't super fruit-forward, It was still nicely done and ended up being the one I chose to enjoy for the evening. The brewery has a laid-back vibe that reminded me of being in Florida with Jimmy Buffett playing in the background. It had that easy-going, ocean-side feel, and while I'm not sure if that was intentional, we really enjoyed it. We're happy we stopped by and are definitely looking forward to visiting again soon!
