The only thing better than eating is eating for a cause! Every month Community Kitchen PGH has a guest chef dinner event and I went to the one last month featuring PGH Dumplingz. CKP is a fantastic non-profit that offers paid culinary training and certified apprenticeships, job opportunities and placement assistance, and hunger relief. They also have catering and food truck! It was cool to watch the students help prepare and serve the food and they also got the opportunity to introduce themselves during the night. We got four courses and while they were all yummy, my favorite was the flavorful and juicy Cajun shrimp dumplings!

I ordered takeout from Community kitchen during Lent for their fish fry! I placed my order online for a 6:15 pickup. I got there around that time and was able to find a parking spot in their small parking lot. Upon arrival, my order was not ready but I also noticed it was very busy in there! The staff were so apologetic about the wait, but I didn't mind. They serve beer and they also had a stand selling Girl Scout cookies. Seating is a bit tight (in my opinion) so I was glad to have gotten takeout. The food was so good! Everything was fresh and tasty. I would order from Community Kitchen again in the future!

I love the concept of this kitchen as much as the food that it produces.Absolutely amazing gourmet meals that are as good as if not better than high-ranking restaurants. To me this is a high-ranking restaurant.Enjoy stopping by for meals (non-pandemic) as well as having catered meals. Their catering service is truly wonderful.

Back for fish fry again! They seem to have ironed out their pickup process as my order was on the shelf ready to go. Since COVID restrictions were over we ate in and there was a decent amount of seating. Definitely recommend ordering ahead though. The fish was great as usual, but the fries were bland and over salted.

We came here for fish fry on a Friday at noon. My fiancé got the fish dinner (fish sandwich plus two sides of your choice) and I just got the fish sandwich. Came out to about $20. The space is clean and welcoming. I love that it's a nonprofit and the proceeds go back to the community. They train people to become chefs and help them with employment. The food was also really good, on par with Wholey's fish sandwich. They also have a parking lot. Would try to come again before lent is over.

I love this place and everything it represents. Job training and placement, that's the stuff!I stopped by to try their fish fry, so this review is specifically for that. I came during a lull between lunch and dinner, maybe around 1:30 p.m., so it wasn't busy.I ordered two fish sandwich meals, which each come with two sides. It was kinda steep at about $28 after tax, but I figured it was for a good cause.Fish was big and good. Haluski was amazing. It was super buttery and flavorful. But the Mac and cheese, which I got two servings of, one for each meal, was dried out and lacked flavor. I was really bummed.Plus I ordered fries that I didn't get. Double bummed.Be sure to double check your order before leaving. I thought I counted the right number of containers before heading out, but I was mistaken.I would like to come out again to experience other meal offerings!

We went last week for the fish fry and are hoping to go back this week if take out is still available! We loved everything! Fish was crispy and delicious (even the piece I kept for later was good on Saturday!). The sides were excellent - LOVED the fries and haluski. My husband had the mac n cheese - it was a more gourmet recipe, I think, than traditional homemade, but the blend of cheeses was awesome! Hoping they will be open for the rest of lent so we have dinner on Fridays!
