A hotel is a hotel, right? As long as it gives you the basic amenities, no major complaints. For us, the Comfort Inn and Suites in Pittsburgh was everything we hoped for in a hotel when we stayed there this week. We crammed five (two adults and three kids) into a room with two queen sized beds and it was great. We all fit just fine with our luggage and pack and play, and the room was very clean - the entire hotel looked like a new place that had just opened! The pool was great, and up on the sixth (top) floor, there's an observation area with a beautiful view of the Pittsburgh skyline. Very scenic, and great for pictures. The breakfast was...the only let down of our experience. No bacon ("we don't do bacon when it's busy" is what I was told), and the waffle maker didn't work at all. Staff was aware, but apparently were either out of the spray to keep the waffles from sticking, or the spray they had didn't work. Either way, in just the time we ate breakfast, at least four people got stuck with nasty "awfuls" (charred waffle that cooked for 3 minutes and stuck to the iron). A sign saying it wasn't working or something would have been nice. That said, this place is super conveniently located, and we'll probably stay again! Highly recommend!

I spent one night at the Comfort Inn, downtown Pittsburgh. Hotel is on the outskirts of downtown/North Shore. It really isn't in the thick of things if you are looking for that in your location. Hotel is less than two years old, so it still has anew feeling to it.I was quickly greeted by the man at the front desk. Within a few minutes, check-in was complete and I was given a room on the fifth floor (2 Queen Bed/Suite). Room was a fair size, bed was comfortable, even had a double sink in the bathroom. Room appeared to be clean.Pool was closed for maintenance, and breakfast (eggs and sausage) was fine. They have a shuttle (active until 7:30 on a Saturday night) up to three miles away which was nice. Parking is 14.00 per night and the lot is right behind the hotel.Overall if I needed a hotel in Downtown Pittsburgh, depending on my activities, I would certainly consider staying here.

This hotel is basically new. Everything looks and feels new. "Tim" at the front desk was super helpful with the minor things that came up during our stay. I took one star away because the website said their was a complimentary shuttle, which was one of the reasons we stayed here, but there was no shuttle. The website should be updated. The location is ok with restaurants close by and it's also near the stadiums. There is a very nice rooftop patio.

So back in January my mother, a friend of hers (like an aunt in my life) and I decided to plan trip to Pittsburgh to see a friend of mine and have him show us the area. We booked the travel out there and after asking my friend for a recommendation of good hotels he said for us to check the Comfort Inn-Northshore out. Overall was a pretty decent place. Besides a hiccup/check-in issue and the fact that the boiler went out and thus couldn't take a hot shower for a couple days (which they did a wonderful job of compensating us for problems) we really enjoyed ourselves. Colleen (the owner), the newer front desk manager and the majority of the staff were very accommodating.

Great location. Walls need paint. The white bathtub had been weirdly glued w black glue. SOME of the ladies behind the desk are not very friendly. Breakfast ran out (on a Monday!) 1st day and not ready on Tuesday morning. The breakfast lady was really nice though.

This is, in my view, a low class hotel. We recently stayed there for four awful nights. First, there was no internet for the entire duration of our stay. The telephone provided wouldn't work, even to call the front desk. The towels were thin and cheap. I had to ask twice (2 different days) to have the room made up. When they finally did, they gave us ( 2 people) no washcloths, one bath towel and one hand towel. This is just a low class hotel in my view. Would never stay there again!

If you are heading to Pittsburgh and need a place to start close to Downtown, look no further. This hotel is new (within last 5 months), Beautiful and a nice central location to explore Pittsburgh. From the time we checked in to checkout, our expectations were blown away! The staff went way above and beyond to insure that our stay was flawless. Rooms are very well laid out, comfortable beds, and awesome pillows. Our room looked out on downtown, and just down the hall was a rooftop patio with comfortable seating and great views. I stay in hotels around 180 nights per year for work and this one is one of the best I have stayed in. Give Ray, Michael and the crew a try - you won't be disappointed!

Had my bridal shower here in the event room on the top floor- WOW!! You cannot beat the views of the city with the floor to ceiling windows and lovely outdoor patio! Chase and his staff were an absolute pleasure to work with. They exceeded every expectation that we had from start to finish. Our food tasted excellent and everyone raved about our bloody Mary and mimosa bar. Spent 2 nights in the king room suite and was extremely satisfied with the room cleanliness and comfortability of the bed. There was even a wedding going on Friday night on the same floor and we could not hear anything. Very impressive. The parking lot had plenty of spaces and was easy to access. Complimentary breakfast in the morning was hot and staff was very attentive to keeping tables and breakfast bar area very clean. Chuck at the front desk was attentive and willing to help with any question that we had. Simply cannot recommend this hotel enough. Whether you want to hold an event here or just stay the night before/after a Steelers game, you will not be disappointed.
