Coal Tipple Brewery

This is such a great establishment. Greenhouse, brewery, winery, gift shop. People were playing games, sitting outside and just enjoying the atmosphere. The staff made me a special drink with a sugar rim and umbrella.

This place has everything that you need from plants, to pastries, beer and wine. How much better does it get.We stopped as I had this place on my radar for a while to try the beer out. i had a sample of 4 small beers and my wife had 4 wines. $7 each for the sampling. I thought the beers were good. Liked the one that I think is the standard "Nippy Tipple" all of the beers and brewery itself is around the theme of coal mining. The wines were very good as well.My wife and daughter loved the greenhouse obtaining flowers and plants that they thought were a good fit and purchased.I'll be back to obtain some wine supplies as I see that they sell. Overall good experience, like to come back and have more time to enjoy the beer.

Highly recommend this all in one brewery, winery and shop. Amy was an amazing and informative host teaching my wife and I all the history of not only the beers, but the land and themes as well. I will definitely be stopping in next time I'm in town.

Coal Tipple was a rewarding stop after biking. Off the beaten track, we were a little confused by the exterior of the building and next door garden center. But patrons on the front porch steered us in the right direction. There is a wine shop in addition to the brewery. Jams and a few gifts are sold as well. Three comfortable rooms with ample seating. An inviting corner of chairs with a fireplace looks cozy for a fall or winter visit. The beer selection was good with ample choices. No food was available the day/time we were there but a fresh basket of popcorn was appreciated. We were told that food could be ordered from a restaurant a short distance away. This is a good stop whether or not you are biking. The beer is first rate.

Friendly staff. Good beer! Great wine! Little gem stone found along the way back home to columbia SC. Quick beer stop but beer AND wine is reallY good! Fossil fuel porter was def my fav. As far as win the strawberry wine was delicious!

The best fruit wines I've ever tasted. All fruit sourced locally. Fresh pies and jams and jellies from local fruits. I'll definitely be back. Very near the BankOne amphitheater

Slightly disappointed. We were pretty excited to discover another dog-friendly brewery 25 minutes from where we live, as it says on their website "pets welcome on a leash". When we arrived, there were only a couple cars in the lot. I told my husband I would go in first just to make sure it was ok that we bring in our dog. When I asked, the employee advised usually yes, but since it is raining, with the mud "no". I said ok that's fine we will sit outside. Usually this would be no big deal however, since it was a cold rainy night in the 40's, it was too uncomfortable. We liked the beer, it would have been nice to enjoy it more like we planned. I would advise changing the website if pets are not allowed if it is raining outside. Also, our dog was clean as he is not an outside dog.

We visited this eatery for the first time on wednesday when we took out of town guests there. We were the only ones in the whole place. The service Was very, very good. Atmosphere is nice. I ordered this from bowie and was very disappointed as it was burned on the bottom. My husband had stake sandwich and stated that the bun was very hard. One of our party had a burger that looked absolutely Is delicious though! We will frequent again to give it a second chance. I did mention about the burns Stromboli and no credit or refund was offered which was really disappointing also.

Good wine and friendly staff!So many varieties of wine that are unique. Great place to check out!

This was a great little find while out driving. They have a good selection of beer and wine. They also have jams jelly's and fresh fruit pies. This is a family ran business and the people are extremely friendly.
