Pretty great recent experience at City Winery for show! This was my first time seeing a performance there & was glad to read Yelp reviews before with assistance on where to buy my ticketed seat within the venue. I am really glad we bought balcony seats, it seemed less interrupted and obviously less crowded. If I was with a group, a table on the first level would be a nice option. The views and acoustics were great in the space! When you buy a show ticket, it acts as a dinner reservation for you prior to the show. We arrived 45 minutes prior to the show starting and it was a perfect amount of time to eat some small plates. We tried the lamb meatballs, cheese board, burrata, truffle fries, and kale Caesar salad. The truffle fries have definitely improved since I was there last which is a positive! The cheese board was super full and packed with great cheeses and accompaniments. The Caesar salad was just okay - the kale wasn't chopped up so it was kind of difficult to eat. The lamb meatballs were good but they were slightly warm - I couldn't tell if they had been warm and sat, or if they're supposed to be served cold? Either way, the temp was weird. The burrata and jam it is served with was delicious but definitely could use more pieces of bread. My wine was really good, of course, and my husband enjoyed his gin cocktail. Overall, a good experience and will be back for another show!

This review is mostly about the food and food service at City Winery. I'd always had good luck with food at their Chicago location, but tonight's experience was awful. Starting with the pizza. First off they should call it a flatbread not pizza to manage expectations, because that dough was awful. Bland and pale. Not a touch of crust with color to be seen. I've had better frozen pizzas. In fact, I don't think I've ever had a frozen pizza crust as bad as this one. But that wasn't the worst part. We order the mushroom pizza, with a ricotta pesto sauce. But you know what there was more of than the sauce, cheese and mushrooms combined? Microgreens. Which I hate. And they overwhelm the thing. But somehow they were not mentioned on the menu description. So I pull the server over and tell her I hate Microgreens and was shocked to see them on the pizza since no mention on the menu or I would have ordered it without them. So I order the burrata. And what was piled on top of that burrata when it was brought out? You guessed it, microgreens! Not 5 minutes after I spent time during the show expressing how much I hated them. And much more microgreens than the interesting but ultimately bland chipotle fig Jame that I had to hunt for on the plate. Bill comes, despite me explaining the situation with the pizza that was inedible for me, still charged for that pizza. Never been more disappointed in $40 I've paid someplace for food in my life. Eat before you come to a show here. What a letdown.

Such a cool venue that combines good food and a live show almost every night. I sat at a high top in the back and had no trouble seeing and hearing the stage. I have sat in the lower area before but I find it crowded and hard to move. The food was tasty, came out quick, and was full of flavor. The start of the show had to be the Wagyu sliders. The truffle fries were perfectly cooked. I didn't like the duck tacos, they were mostly bland and the flavors didn't seem harmonious. They were still enjoyed. The plates may seem modest but trust me they were very filling and great to share. The drinks left some to be desired. They were overpriced and just tasted like mixed drinks.

Great venue to turn to for a wide variety of entertainment, and events. Beautiful interior. Staff members are helpful, professional and upbeat. Their set-up easily accommodates large groups or single guests. I recommend signing up for their newsletter since most shows sell out fast if you do not have advanced notice. I prefer balcony seating because the lower main floor has limited mobility. I feel bad for the servers trying to get to each guest. Also keep in mind you end up sharing tables with strangers since they try to fill each table seat vs the bar-like arrangement in the balcony. Street parking and garage parking is conveniently located next to the winery.

Served tapas style so the portions of each dish are small. Everything was very tasty, but the prices are steep.

This is such an amazing venue, andI love coming to shows here. Attended a Christmas show here and we did arrive early so that we could order food and drink at our seats.. I don't know if you order drinks and food in the bar area before the show if you have a better selection of wine, but as the only drinker in my party, I only had a light selection of glasses of wine that I could choose from I do wish that this was brought a bit, but perhaps maybe next time we'll just eat in the bar ahead of time. Food was good shareable's, and the staff was amazing.. we were sitting in the balcony area. It was a cold night and for whatever reason it seemed really cold up in the balcony, but that could've just been due to the temperature outside all in all probably my favorite venue to go and see music at in the Pittsburgh area

We had an amazing girls night at City Winery, they hosted an ugly Christmas sweater old school R&B sign along. (I know; a mouthful) It was a blast! What made it even better was the food and their service! The hostess's were kind and attentive at checking us in. We were seated in our pre-bought seats right away. Our server greeted us warmly and quickly. We ordered the Sauvignon Blanc for our wine selection. It was perfect. We also shared some apps and a pizza. We had the Burrata which was AMAZING! It had a jam that was sweet and complimented the salty cheese and prosciutto. The grilled baguette was the perfect vessel to enjoy. The Wagyu sliders were also incredible with the Brie on them. The pizza was just ok. The venue was perfect and couldn't have asked for a better night!

I've been to City Winery for a couple shows, and it's always been a great time! It's nice to have your reserved seats/table and not to have to worry about fighting for a spot. The wine is great, and they also have other options like beer and cocktails, too. We got a few apps to share with the table, and everything was delicious. I highly recommend the Burrata! The servers are great and continued to check on us throughout the show. My only complaint is, depending on the show, they really have you packed in with no room to move.

This was pretty ok... They have a nice patio area in the summer and let us bring our dog which was great but the wine... kind of nothing special and the food... definitely nothing special... We had the lamb meatballs which were cold and the burrata which was good but seriously... they served a giant ball of burrata with two teeny slices of bread (croutons) and then seemed annoyed that we might want more bread? Am I supposed to want to just eat the cheese alone? Like soup? So yeah, that tasted good but was just done poorly and our server was just not great. It was all just ok.

Very nice place when they're adequately staffed. Food, entertainment, and ambiance are always great. The waitstaff is very nice, but sometimes they are understaffed and you don't see your designated waitstaff for a long time. Decent quality food and the wine is nice as well.Always a good time!
