Every Friday from May to November, Pittsburgh Citiparks hosts farmer's markets at the City-County Building Downtown. For those of you who can't make it, they hold them at various other locations throughout the week. Because I have every other Friday off, on the weeks I'm not working that day, I'll go to the one in Bloomfield instead. They have a decent selction of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and cheeses. Not all of it is organic though. Even so, although you might pay a little more than at Giant Eagle, the produce here is way better. I don't know--I guess fruit and veggies are always better when they have flavor. And of course, it's always fun schlepping home a shopping bag full of produce and my briefcase on the bus.
