Stopped here just because I had a half hour to kill and it was right there. On the plus side, I was greeted promptly upon sitting at the bar. The bartender was friendly and efficient in general; and the patrons seemed to like her. Most of the patrons appeared to be regulars, which I always appreciate in a bar.I got a glass of wine and a cup of French onion soup. I wouldn't order the soup again, but it wasn't terrible either. I didn't actually see anyone eating - just drinking. That could be because the place reeked of smoke, which is unappetizing. For that reason, I wouldn't return. If you don't mind smelling like an ashtray though, give it a shot.

Came to this place to watch a friend play music. First of all this is a smoking place establishment so if you don't like smoke I suggest you stay away. Next it is a small place shaped more like a rectangle with a long bar on one side and some tables to the other which are spaced to close together. Also it is not set up well for any music The stage is by the door and it's hard to hear or see anyone if you not up close that way. Music was nice and we could hear it fine but there was a table of loud drunk people that would get rowdy from time to time. We ordered food which included stuffed mushrooms and calamari. Mushrooms were decent but the calamari was bigger then I expected and the taste was ok but they were over cooked and "rubbery" a bit. The bartender was amazing and the service was excellent. Met the wiener and his wife who were super friendly

I moved into my current house about five years ago now and I've always wanted to have a place nearby with good food and drinks where I can be a regular. You can talk me into coming here to watch a game but I just can't bring myself to make this my spot. Maybe the fact that it's a smoking bar has a lot to do with it, but it's definitely the type of place where you should expect that. If that doesn't bother you, then take this review with a grain of salt and keep reading.Anyway, don't let the name fool you. Nothing about the Churchill Haus appears German on the surface. It's a low key neighborhood bar. The bottled beer selection is decent but they don't have much on tap. Once or twice a month they'll have live music. There's a few food specials during the week. I've tried the tacos, burgers, wings, and BBQ. The wings are good if you don't feel like driving into the city. The BBQ is by far my favorite thing on the menu. If nothing else, come by on a Saturday in the summer when they have the grill going and get a few racks of ribs. Take your food to go if you don't want to be overpowered with cigarette smoke in a small space. If you can tolerate it, then stop by here for a penguins or pirates game and watch with a good yinzer crowd.

We have been trying to support local businesses during the Covid shutdowns. We stopped after church Saturday evening. Mainly because of outside seating. We sat down and the manager took our drink order . A few people were sitting outside . Dogs were allowed if they were leashed. There was a lot of drama with a loud profane guy and his unruly dog and a crying girl . A lot of loud profane language which we found offensive. We ordered nachos which came out pretty quickly and were tasty. The manager asked the loud guy and his dog to leave. They did. Our dinner orders, a salad, a club sandwich and a burger, never arrived. After about an hour, we asked to have it to go . The manager apologized for the delay and took $5 off the bill. We took our food home. The burger was greasy and inedible . The strawberry feta salad had one sliced strawberry in it and the club sandwich was okay . We wanted to support our small businesses, but we will not go back to Churchill Haus.

Came for the advertised pasta special. Came in to be told they just aren't doing it. Then received menus with another advertised special, which again we were told was no longer in affect. We decided not to eat there after this. However I must admit, the immediate smell of smoke upon entering the place was an instant turn off. We were customers drawn by food; we weren't expecting the little dive bar that it was. I just don't think food and smoke mix!

Churchill Haus is a place we'd go to monthly as it was somewhat pricey for our budget but the food/ menu is of high quality and I dont mind paying a little extra for quality. The owners are nice, wings are good and we especially enjoy the burgers w/ a few brews. The burgers are nice sized, cooked perfectly and the buns are just fantastic as well.alil pricey and smoking may persuade some to pass but we enjoy the burgers alot and so will you

This place is a hidden gem. Stumbled upon it by a sign offering seven dollar lunches. I had the meatloaf and my wife had buffalo fried shrimp. Great food and friendly bartenders. Everything a neighborhood bar should be. It's a lil far from where we live, but EVERY TIME we are out that way we stop for lunch or dinner.
