Chubby's Pizza & Hoagies Northside

I stopped by here this past Saturday evening with my wife for dinner. We had noticed Chubby's whenever we had visited the coffeehouse down the street and were even happier whenever we found them in the entertainment book. So I tried calling them and got the busy signal a few times. Eventually I got through and was able to place an order for two large cheese pizzas and was told that it would be 45 minutes. My wife and I arrived exactly 45 minutes later and our pizzas were ready. The inside of Chubby's was sort of small with no seating and only enough room for an ATM, Ms. Pacman game and another game. It was hot in there too! I mean it was warm outside but the inside here was at least 10 degrees warmer and sweltering. While it didn't bother me for the 5 or so minutes while I was there, my wife ended up stepping outside to avoid it. In the end the two large pizzas ended up costing me $9.10 with the coupon. Crazy!This pizza, like all pizza can be broken down into its three major components: cheese, crust and sauce. For this one I am going to lump the cheese and sauce together just because. On my very first bite of the pizza I have to admit that I was fairly disappointed with the taste. It's certainly wasn't bad but it just didn't really taste like much. It's a shame too as there was ample cheese and I think this is one of the saucier pizzas I have had. Toss a few herbs in there and it could have been golden. Anyways, the crust of this pizza was its saving grace. Having read previous Yelp reviews, I was worried it may be doughy but that wasn't the case for ours. It was cooked very well throughout and had a great flavor and bite to it. I actually wish more places would make a crust like this as it suits my palate.The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. While I felt like I was wasting calories with the sauce and the cheese, at least the crust was good and you really can't beat the price.

Since new family members took over it's just not the same. Always an issue when ordering, double charging for items on credit cards and not saying anything until they deliver it and then say oops here is the extra 2 liter of pop that hiu didn't order but it was put kn your card 2 times sorry The entire pizza was basically nothing but crust w big bubbles on it. $21 plus tip and when I called them to tell them they said we give you another 2 liter of pop for free next time.Definitely lost my business.

It was my first time ordering from Chubby's and I was happily surprised with this fantastic little local gem. When it came one to order there was no menu online, played it safe with a pepperoni pizza. While the pizza is greasy, dear god is it good!

Slow. Just horribly slow. Whatever time you're quoted put an extra hour on it. Go elsewhere. Not worth your time.

One of my favorite pizza shops. I have had the square pizza , Italian hoagie and steak hoagie- all of which are delicious. My only regret is I don't live closer, so when I'm in the area it is a must stop for lunch and sometimes I take a pie home for the rest of my family.

I love this place only thing is not enough pepperoni on the Sicilian pizza. Their hoagies are delicious

Chubby's recently had a change of management and it was rumored they greatly improved the food; We gave it another try and we were not disappointed! The quality and taste has taken a complete 180° turnaround and the delivery was within the quoted time (took 50 minutes from order) and friendly. We ordered a medium pepperoni pizza, BBQ wings, and steak hoagie. Here's the breakdown:Pepperoni pizza: The crust was delicious and fresh but a touch undercooked; sauce was well seasoned and savory but very scarce; there was an excessive amount of cheese which combined with barely any sauce and tiny pepperonis was overwhelming. I'd recommend ordering your pizza well done. BBQ wings: SO GOOD! Their wings are breaded and the bbq sauce is sweet but a tiny bit spicy at the end. Total KFC honey bbq wings vibes but better. Steak hoagie: This was fine, it comes with steak, sautéed onions and red peppers, provolone, and LTO. The steak wasn't quite steakums but also wasn't shaved steak. If I were to order again I would absolutely get extra cheese as it was only seen and not tasted due to the small quantity. Overall we were really impressed with the improvements and will order again, but they still have a few kinks to work out.3.5 stars

Ordered a lg pizza and a Italian hoagie delivered. both burned to a crisp. Called and talked to the owner, very sympathic, promised to deliver more food right away. We got nothing, grand kids very disappointed. Ended up getting KFC.

After reading some of the reviews, I'm totally shocked.I opened Chubby's Pizza back in 1990 and got out of it in 2002.I always made sure if there was a complaint I personally took care of it and talked to the customer myself, I would never let anyone employee handle a complaint...It's a shame how they ruined a great quality business that I built up from scratch working many hours.I know it's hard to get good help today and I know the demand of time you have to put into that type of business, you have to make sure if your not going to be there you have someone that knows what their doing.And CARES about the product their sending you...

Sooo bummed. My usual place (Cerasoli's) wasn't open. I decided to try another local place. I should have made Mac & Cheese. This was the absolute worst pizza I have ever had (frozen not included). Actually, I love a brand of frozen pizza much more. Tasteless. Bland. So disappointing. I never review places, BUT, this was so bad I just cannot. Come on guys!! You HAVE to know how terrible this is??!!
