I received some of the best customer service of any Pittsburgh restaurant at this place. And, the food was some of the best Latin American food I've had in a while as well. I got to try out their Peruvian chicken combo meal with chicken, yellow rice, beans, sweet plantains, yucca fries, and spicy green sauce, as well as their tres leches cake.Everything was delicious. The chicken was very juicy and flavorful. Perfectly cooked, and not too fatty at all. The yucca fries were still crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and went perfectly with the green sauce, which was (as they said) quite spicy. The sweet plantains were also delicious and came in a great portion. Caramel iced well and thoroughly cooked. I like that they kept the beans separate, and they were really good as well. Almost fully melted in a way, that's how creamy they seemed. Went well with the rice, which was soft but a bit plain. The tres leches was one of the best tres leches I've had in Pittsburgh. So soft, sweet, and delicate. The perfect amount of each of the milks. And, it looked pretty beautiful as well. All in all, I highly recommend this place. One of the hidden gems of Beechview. Very nice owner, great customer service, amazing food and great portions.

Chicken Latino is a good option for homemade-style Peruvian food. I got my food delivered, so I can't comment on the service or the atmosphere of the restaurant. I got the chicken burrito and it was around a foot long, the portions are very large. It doesn't do anything special for me in terms of flavor or spice. The rice is seasoned, tastes a bit better than boxed seasoned rice, beans could be more seasoned, chicken tastes like it's rotisserie (similar to supermarket rotisserie or El Pollo Loco). They put a big emphasis on their chicken that it's marinated overnight and roasted in a brick oven but that flavor doesn't come through to me. Their red tomato salsa tastes and smells the same as Pace / supermarket salsa in a jar to me. Their salsa verde is very spicy, touch of sweetness then a long burn, if you like spice then that's the one to get. Overall, it's a decent restaurant for homemade tasting food, if that's what you're looking for. It takes me back to when my mom used to make homemade quesadillas and burritos with supermarket rotisserie chicken, boxed rice, canned beans, and shredded cheese. Unfortunately, I can't give Chicken Latino any higher than 3 stars as the restaurant doesn't do anything special for me in terms of flavor, you could make very similar tasting food at home.

A hidden gem in Beechview! The most tender and flavorful rotisserie chicken I've had. I ordered the Big Chicken Quesadilla and Jalapeño Poppers. Both came out very quickly after ordering, but were clearly freshly cooked for us. The Jalapeño Poppers were lightly breaded, stuffed with cheddar cheese, and fried. They weren't overly spicy, which I liked, and went well with the salsa dip they provided. The Big Quesadilla was by far the best chicken quesadilla I've had in quite some time. Firstly, it is giant, a whole foot long and fully stuffed with tender chicken, white rice, chedder cheese and black beans. It was extremely flavorful and the 3 sauces provided on the side made it even better! The red salsa was a mild spice that gave freshness to every bite. The sour cream added a more creamy texture. And the green sauce was a delicious spicy kick when drizzled on top. Definitely had half the quesadilla left over to enjoy for dinner the next day. Service was quick, but they did miss hear our drink orders which resulted in getting rice milk instead of orange Fanta, a $6 price difference. Overall, the food was delicious and a great experience! Just be prepared to pay a little more than you expect for typical Latio/Mexican food

We love Chicken Latino!! We used to stop in all the time in the strip district and now they're right in Beechview!! Usually I got a chicken quesadilla which is huge and lasts several meals (for me). We always splurge on the plantains. Sometimes he gets a burrito, or chimichanga. We've gotten half and whole chicken with the rice and beans- so good. Today I tried the salad which was like a half a chicken and really good steak fries over a casa salad. Lots of beverages to choose plus more dessert but we already has the plantains! Several pick up and delivery options too

Delicious. Checked out after my other Peruvian spot downtown closed down in the pandemic & was no disappointed! The chicken has a nice seasoned crispy skin, and moist and juicy on the inside. Very flavorful. The rice and beans, simple but a great staple. The spanish yellow rice was done well, can definitely pick up on the tomato and the stock used to cook it. This and the chicken paired well with the green spicy sauce they serve it with. The plantains were heavenly, and what I look forward to most to accompany a saltier meal. The plantains were not overly ripe, and fried to sweet perfection.

This would've been a 5 star review had it been based on my first few experiences, but my last experience was a 3 star at best. I arrived for an early dinner. Ordered the half chicken and it was dry as a bone. Service was wonderful, but the chicken had clearly been sitting for quite some time. I love the spicy sauce, rice and coleslaw, but as soon as the chicken came, I could tell it wasn't as fresh as it could've been. Now I understand that rotisserie chicken can't be made to order. However, maybe there could be cross utilization of the older rotisserie chickens. I will undoubtably go here again as the chicken quesadilla is the best I've ever had hands down. Overall this is an excellent restaurant. Highly recommend.
