Another fabulous meal! Posted a few more pictures. The Mixed Appetizers was a great way to sample three lovely dips.Tried the Velveting Beef Salad and the flavor profile was unique and pleasing. The Beef Samsa had a flaky crust, filling was hot and the dipping sauce complimented the filling flavors well. Shawarma was filled to bursting with tender, hot, well seasoned beef It had been flash fried to a crispy tasty perfection.I look forward to continuing to dine my way through the menu!

This place is a real treat. Uzbeki food is so unique and full of flavor. They know how to do puff pastry right. The lamb falls off the bone, it's so tender. My favorite part was all the noodles that are made in house because there's no way those soft and silky things are store bought. The one downside, if I were to be nitpicky, is that my fried noodle dish was a little oily. Everything was delicious and did not break the bank, do yourself a favor and try it out.

Delicious unique food!! Everything we tried was so good and flavorful. My favorite was the manti and Beshbarmak! The manti was soft, fluffy and juicy. The Beshbarmak is such a good deal, so flavorful and you get a whole lamb shank.

This might be some of the best food I've had in Pittsburgh. It hits all my standards for a 5 star worthy restaurant. The food was original and something you can't really find anywhere else in Pittsburgh, even in the country. There was a wide selection of Uzbek dishes. The cooking was masterful, I can definitely tell the chef was good at cooking. Each dish was done masterfully and had layers to its flavor. The restaurant itself was newly renovated and clean. The decor was nice and service was fast.Recommended dishes[Beshbarmak] the lamb shank in this dish was amazing. Something that easily costs $50+ in a fine dining restaurant. The soup was great, only thing is I felt the noodles were a bit over cooked and too soft. Might be done that way on purpose though.[Fried Lagman] the noodles in this dish, on the other hand, were perfect. Handmade with elasticity to it (not sure how to describe it, but has a good chewiness to it). Was a bit on the oily side, might benefit from a tad less oil. The beef in this dish was also very tender and flavorful. I really wasn't expecting this dish to be that good because it looked a bit American style, but I was pleasantly surprised.[Uzbek Plov] my friend didn't recommend this dish, but we still ordered it anyways. So much better than expected. The rice was a bit undercooked for me, but I feel like it's like this for Uzbek cuisine, not really a cooking technique problem. The lamb was great, and it really hit the expectations we had for plov. Flavorful and not too dry.[Eggplant spread] the spread was great, but the brass that came with it was even better. Crispy, but not oily. A bit on the sweet side which I loved. The Uzbek bread was also great, crispy yet moist and fluffy in the interior.Honestly, every dish was at the level of my expectation and went beyond. This is a restaurant where I felt the chef really cared about cooking. It's also extremely affordable and a casual setting. Will definitely be coming back here often for their food.

Ok, so I didn't write my review right away after visiting and now I'm having trouble remembering what we ordered--however, I remember it was delicious and I remember the staff were all so kind and generous, especially with our little kids. I believe it was maybe the owner who was so kind and brought a sliced apple for our littles to enjoy while we waited for our food. The restaurant was pretty small and it was full, but that's exactly what you hope to see when trying a new cuisine. It was clean, fast, and really good food! :)

This is a good place to eat if you just want to eat a big meat( lamb) portion with a reasonable price and if you don't care about the ambiance ( with is so bland despite the great potential of the Uzbek culture), and not serving alcohol, and eating greasy food with not cooked enough rice. The service was timely and friendly.

Came back a few week after my initial visit. Server was very nice. Menu changed already. No longer has photos to each item, some items eliminates, and some items had their prices raised from just 2-3 weeks ago. Always get a bit concerned when menus change that quickly but at same time hope it's just an attempt to find their niche. Enjoyed the wild rice and lamb. Nice portion and came with some bread. Got a side of cucumber yogurt but not sure how I'd eat it served plain. Luckily the bread from the meal could be used for dipping which was excellent.

While visiting the city, we came across this place and wanted to give Uzbek cuisine a try. Our waitress was so nice & explained the dishes to our three kids. They brought extra plates so we could try all the dishes. We really enjoyed the Plov and fried lagman . Samosas and hummus were great starters. The place was filled with locals with a casual vibe. No kids menu but definitely kid friendly.

The food was delicious. I really enjoyed the grilled lagman and the lamb shanks were a group favorite. The service was excellent. We had a family dinner at Chaykana and the waiters were very accommodating and set up tables for our large group to enteract.
