Our stay at the Historic Century Inn was nothing short of enchanting, Steeped in history and charm, this inn carries tales of esteemed guests like President George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, adding an undeniable allure to its ambiance.Walking through the corridors, one couldn't help but feel a sense of reverence for the centuries of stories woven into its walls. The prospect of encountering spirits said to wander its halls added an intriguing layer to our stay, as the inn is renowned as one of the most haunted places in the Pittsburgh region. However, despite our eagerness to experience the supernatural, our nights passed without any spectral encounters. Yet, this did little to dampen our enthusiasm for the inn. The warmth of its hospitality, the comfort of its rooms, and the exquisite dining experiences ensured that our time at the Historic Century Inn was unforgettable. While we may not have glimpsed the apparitions of bygone guests, the echoes of their presence and the rich tapestry of history woven into every corner of the inn made our stay an experience to cherish. We departed with memories that will linger long after our visit, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to return and perhaps uncover more of its intriguing secrets. We were greeted by a young nice lady who took us to our room and provided us a key for entry and exit of our room. It's unlike any stay that I was used to. I'm typically use to providing payment immediately, but not here, you settle your bill after breakfast. We quickly settled into your room. Started to take photos and I opened a new bottle of spiced whiskey from Liberty Pole Spirits is the only way to get started. We quickly navigated to do a tour of the inn and ended up at the tavern downstairs, having drinks and making friends with the bartender and guests that were at the bar. We had great conversations from wine to stories of haunted tails. Our dinner was served in a backroom which had a fireplace that I could easily fit in and knowing how big of a man I am height wise, it's impressive. The food was absolutely incredible. I would come here just to have dinner. The steak was probably the best steak that I may have ever experienced. Food and drinks were incredible. Followed with an incredible breakfast in the morning and finally meeting the inn keeper and owner Megan. She's incredibly sweet and nice as described.I can't wait to come back and stay again.

Grandparent's used to live in the area and on a recent vacation trip back from the West Coast they raved about how good Century Inn is so we just had to come! We made reservations one day in advance and when we came for dinner we were quickly seated in a cozy room towards the back of the building with a large fireplace. The decorations in the room were a fun Halloween theme too which added to the ambiance. Menu is seasonal with only 5-6 entrees to pick from which actually made it easier to pick in my opinion. I got the steak dinner which came with caramelized onions, potatoes and green beans. The meal was really tasty and I wish there had just been more of it!

Spent the day driving from Pittsburgh to Johnstown to Shanksville and then to Scenery Hill with my husband and his grandparents. His grandparents spent many years living in Pittsburgh and were back to visit and told us how much they loved stopping into century inn whenever they were in the area. They insisted on taking us there and we had a good time! The ambiance was really quite amazing with period decor and art. We were seated in the room with the fireplace at a larger table with two other guests at smaller tables in the same room. They brought us an antique high chair for our baby as well. So fun! I got the fettuccine with shrimp and sausage and my husband got the steak. Both were quite good with a lot of flavor. Portions were reasonable, but my husband had much less food than I did. If I'm being honest, I'm not sure the food was over $70 good. If I'm going to spend that much on a meal it had better knock my socks off, and while it was delicious it wasn't amazing. Had our baby been up for it, we would have ordered dessert, it looked amazing, but he was ready to go home. Service was wonderful and professional! We had a great time in a historic place!

We went on Opening Day 2021 - the opening for the season and after a temporary COVID-19 closure. Menu is small but each each item is well presented and delicious. We started with a charcuterie platter and enjoyed the crusty bread. Pasta dish was flavorful and packed with meat and veggies. Lamb Osso dish was tender and flavorful. We loved the parsnips! The pear baklava for dessert was perfect. I would come just for that and a coffee! This is a beautiful space with a wonderful history and the food does not disappoint!

When they were young, my grandparents would take my mom and her siblings to the Century Inn for very special occasions. There was a fire at the Inn, but they reopened early this year. I never experienced dinner here pre-fire, but the space was refurbished beautifully, as if nothing had happened. My aunt and uncle were in town for the holidays, so we decided to make a reservation at Century Inn to kickstart our festivities a few days before Christmas. We made the drive from Pittsburgh to Scenery Hill in just about an hour. We were going to sit at the bar for a drink, but it was completely empty, so we just opted for our table. We started with some cocktails and wine and perused the menu. The salmon and the lamb made up the majority of our orders. The salmon was a sizable piece, and the lamb was phenomenal. We closed out dinner with some desserts - ice cream, creme brûlée, and the fried bread pudding. After dinner, we took a little tour of the rest of the dining areas and the guest rooms. The rooms upstairs were so charming! I would love to stay another time. We had a really nice dinner in this historic Inn; the service was great, the space was charming, all at a perfect spot for a holiday celebration.

They are back and you would never know that this place once suffered from a fire. The official opening date was 2-21-18. Reservations only are being accepted for lunch and dinner for the time being. This will change soon.Century Inn at Scenery Hill offers a vast array of indoor and outdoor dining rooms as well as a tavern. In each room you can smell the wood burning fireplaces and gives it a homey feel.I had made a lunch reservation and was warmly greeted by the staff. I sat down in a dining room facing the rear windows. I felt like I had walked into Colonial times. The menu is just how I remembered it. A must is their renown peanut soup which comes in two sizes. I choose the small and it came in a miniature soup tureen bowl. It was so good! Instead of choosing an entree since the soup was filling I opted for their spinach, pistachio, and quail egg salad. I ordered chicken as a topping. Believe me this salad did not disappoint. They use the finest ingredients and even the bone of the chicken was attached. My waitress told me they use premium farm raised chicken. It was moist and oh so tender!I really wasn't going to spring for dessert but changed my mind when I saw that chocolate pudding with a chocolate covered strawberry. The dessert wasn't too big but it was so rich!!! It made up for everything else. After I had finished my meal I was told I was welcome to "tour" the facility and ask any questions. I got to see all of the upstairs bedrooms which are named for famous historical people who once stayed there.I was amazed when I saw the old fashioned stove in one of the rooms and loved the adorable rocking crib and quilted pattern in another. Each room is unique in its own way. They can be used for overnight stays. Contact the Inn for more details regarding pricing. Lunch entrees normally come with potatoes and fresh fruit which today happened to be strawberries. WiFi is available. Please ask for pass code. I learned the main dining room is called the Music room. The artwork is superb in all the rooms. If you want to come for a special occasion or just for a meal the Century Inn is certainly worth going out of your way for.

My wife and I stayed there for our 30th anniversary and had a wonderful dinner, fun at the bar, and if you stay the night they include a nice breakfast. A new brewery just opened down the street, within a short walk. The place is a real gem.
