Went Sunday. Third visit to Cappy's. Always great! Quietish, casual, fun place. Great service, Sophia (?) fantastic waitress (even remembered my mayo lol)! Food was great! 2 French dips, French toast, 5 alarm burger all delicious! 4 people, bill was under $70, which is next to impossible these days. Always a favorite stop!

Happy Taco Tuesday! Well unfortunately no- we got to Cappy's too late and missed their $2.50 tacos and $4 burritos. My dear friend and I learned our lesson... early bird gets the worm! Other than that, there were affordable drinks, good service, and adorable Christmas decorations We must return to try the tacos. Keep your eyes peeled for an updated review. Until then... MF

It's a cool local dive bar in Shadyside. Not the vibe you would expect on Walnut Street and yet somehow it fits. Definitely made for the people who live in Shadyside that have been in Shadyside for a long time. Drinks service was quick. Seemed like the bartenders were familiar with some of the people at the bar, definitely a place with regulars. The drinks are cheap! Can't beat that. I do not try to food but I'm looking at other peoples dishes, it didn't look half bad for a dive bar. There's a limited amount of seating at the bar, well, I went during a Steelers game so that might've been the reason. They did play the sound during the game which was much appreciated.Bathroom is located downstairs. The women's bathroom is pretty clean. All-around cool dive bar to go to if that's your type of vibe. Nothing crazy, nothing flashy, it is what it is.

Great place to pop into on a cold and rainy night. It's warm and crowded inside. The burger was perfect, exactly what a cheeseburger should be. The potato midges were also an unexpected star and I recommend them. Chicken tenders left to be desired. Sever was very nice and helpful- and the bartender has a heavy pour!

The server did the best she could, nothing on her. The kitchen gave me the hard outside part of the onion in my salad, couldn't chew a bunch of pieces. My friend got a wrap but the chicken was very dry. Nearly no sauerkraut on their Reuben but the fries were nice and crunchy. So, 1 star for crunchy fries.

Dive bar right on Walnut Street in Shadyside. The staff was friendly and the food was yummy -- where else can you get a wrap with mozzarella sticks inside of it? Great for a quick, inexpensive bite or catching the game on the tvs.

Used to be a cool local bar...stopped in after a few years away...ordered a draft which was way too strong..yeah I should have asked for a taste first...but the bartender was such a B I doubt she would have given me a taste...I asked the server ( who was very sweet, this review has nothing to do with her....if I could send it back for a lower ABV beer ...told her I was driving and trying be safe. Bartender said if I sent it back I'd have to pay for it. When I said to her this is the first place I've ever been to that wouldn't let you send back a beer (and trust me it doesn't happen often)...her response was a flippant,;"oh, ok." Seems like Cappy's has become quite the little den of old white guys presided over by a bitchy bar wench who doesn't like single women coming in alone. Try to support locally owned joints, but like the rest of Shadyside, not worth the trip.

I love going to Cappy's for their Friday night dive bar karaoke! The environment is so fun, the emcee is funny & gets the crowd going, and drinks are inexpensive (especially if you stick to beer). The karaoke is run through YouTube, so you can pick pretty much any song you want! The only downside is that there is no waitstaff, so you have to get all your drinks at the bar (even if you're at a table in the karaoke area) which can sometimes get crowded. Overall, though, this is a great spot & local favorite for Friday night fun!Food: N/ADrinks: BService: B-Ambiance: B+
