Capitol Hotel - Pipe Room

What a fun little hidden gem. Went there with a group of nine people. No one in my car had ever been there so it was a new experience for most of the group. Tucked away on a side street, they offer a nice selection of craft beers and a great selection of bar type food. Because it's relatively small, they only have one pool table but everyone was polite about who's turn it was to play. Just a few of the great things on the menu are . . . Spicy cauliflower bites, fried zucchini strips, wings with lots of spice options, at least a dozen different baked hoagies and cheesesteaks and a lot more. If I lived in the area, I KNOW I would become a regular. Additionally, I found the prices to be extremely reasonable. Several of the appetizers were as little as $3 (the spicy cauliflower bites) and the wings were on special for approx $6 a dozen. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. A truly outstanding and hidden Gem.

Local bar. Good service. A few good ipas on tap. Not many choices in Hollidaysburg but it was fairly lively. We didn't eat so can't comment on that.

I like the consistency in service in both food and human interaction. It's an old school place that should stay on the map. Excellent wings and beverage prices are better than most in the area.

Called they said they close at 3 but call back in 10 minutes someone would answer and take order. So we did. And Doug said sorry they dont open until 4. If im open until 3 then im open until 3. Not 10 till or my window sign would say 250. But ordered wings as they used to be spot on. Granted had to do so at 6pm since it was a nightmare prior. But i was very let down. They are average run if the mill now. Hoagie was okay. Nothing good nothing bad. Just riggt down the middle. The deceptive first phone call makes this a solid .5

We are visiting from out-of-state & had lunch at the Capitol. Our cheese steak hoagies were fantastic!! Best I've ever had! Brian Laratonda, the owner, was very hospitable to us. Our waitress, Gail, was very good to us, too. The service was great! Everybody was friendly & the food was the best!! The fries, the salads, my son loved his chocolate milk shake, also. Give yourself a real treat & eat at the Capitol Hotel, on the Diamond.

I'm gonna say they have the best wings in Central Pa!! Cheesesteaks and Italian hoagies are sooooooooo good here!! Unfortunately sometimes they have a an idiot on the phone or the cook is just the idiot cuz I've been burnt 3 times with ordering XX mayo on my cheesesteak lol it's like they punish me cuz once I get it home,I got no mayo at all and the steak is the old crusty parts from the grill ... I don't know who's fault it is, but it's not all the time it happens. But I was so excited to eat my cheesesteak tonight cuz they are the best in town and someone was a moron again . Can't blame the restaurant as a whole cuz they are so good!! So if you have a bad experience give it another try cuz it was probably the doofus working again lol But anyway, BEST WINGS AND CHEESESTEAKS AROUND!!!
