4.5 stars. Cafe de Amis has two locations--one in Sewickley and this one in Robinson/McKees Rocks. These restaurants serve breakfast and lunch, and their menus list foods such as omelettes, salads, soups, sandwiches, crepes, French toast, pancakes, and waffles. Unfortunately, during my visit, no quiches were available because the restaurant had no pastry crusts. At this location in Robinson, my husband and I ate one breakfast. An employee promptly took our order and payment at the cash register. The restaurant was large and clean, and my husband and I seated ourselves at a table of our choosing. Soon, an employee brought our foods to our table. While my husband and I were eating, an employee checked in on us twice. Here are my reviews for our foods:Bananas foster French toast - 4.5 stars - I had ordered this entree at the Sewickley location several weeks earlier, and I enjoyed it so much, that I ordered it again at this location. Mancini bread was topped with banana slices, caramel sauce, powdered sugar, and whipped cream. It tasted very good, but I did find a hair in it.Raspberry crepe - 4.5 stars - This crepe was a large size, it contained some raspberry filling, and it was topped with fresh raspberries, powdered sugar, and whipped cream.Chocolate-chip crepe - 4.5 stars - This crepe contained some chocolate filling, and it was topped with chocolate chips, powdered sugar, and whipped cream. My husband ate this crepe, and he described it as "very rich."Ham, Bacon and Swiss Omelette - 4.5 stars - This omelette was made from four eggs, and it contained crispy bacon, fresh ham, and Swiss cheese. My husband seemed to enjoy it and ate all of it.Sliced baked apples - 4.5 stars - My husband remembered these apples from the Sewickley location, so he ordered them here. He again enjoyed their flavors, but he would prefer that they not include nuts. All of this food cost us $45 plus a tip.I am interested in returning in the future to try this restaurant's salads, soups, and sandwiches for lunch.

Went here for a Friday breakfast. Nice simple food, straight forward no complaints from me or anyone in our party. Self service for the coffee, plenty of room to spread out and enjoy. I had the western omelette and really appreciated the fresh peppers in the omelette. Coffee was good, but definitely a no frills breakfast. I am sure we will try again.

Nothing special.Ordered the chicken fiesta omelet and the turkey pesto panini. The omelet is HYGE and the veggies are fresh but the chicken is processed prepackaged meat. The kind you see next to the Lunchables at the grocery store. For $11.25 I expected real chicken . It came with a side salad which had cherry tomatoes, red onion and cucumbers and a small container of honey mustard dressing (there was no option to chose your own dressing). Salad was small but good. The turkey pesto panini came with roasted red potatoes which were actually kind of spicy. The actual panini was really fresh and tasty. The portion was big and you can tell it was handmade. Big thick slice of tomato and extra fresh spinach! All in all I think it's a tad overpriced but I'm happy with the order besides the processed chicken in the omlete

Enjoy the small cafe close by me. Staff is always friendly and always welcoming you in. Sure some of it is self service like some drinks but very clean and lots of room. Love the food especially the breakfast and they did adjustments for my diet.

First time here. You have to order your food at register. Menu is posted on screens. Ordered the Bananas Foster French toast, side of eggs and potatoes and the Croque Monsieur (which is the Madame w/o egg). The potatoes were a little overdone, but everything else was good. Would definitely return!

Unfortunately, had a pretty poor experience at this location of Cafe Des Amis. I grew up visiting the Sewickley location here and there, and despite switching ownership a few times, the food was always good and fairly authentic. When the Robinson location was announced, my husband and I were so excited to try it! I'm sad to say that we were left wanting so much more than what we experienced when we visited for breakfast a few weeks back. Unlike the original location, the menu feels like a far cry from anything remotely French. The offerings feel more right down the middle diner-y than like that of a French cafe, and many items are all a la carte rather than in a meal format. There are not the traditional displays of french salads or pastries or desserts, but rather a small rotating cooler of sad pie slices and mousse (many of the spaces not replenished after the dessert had clearly been purchased). The ambiance is incredibly off-putting, it feels like a warehouse rather than a cozy restaurant with the gray paint and oppressive fluorescent lighting, and there are huge neon-lit betting and gambling machines taking up significant space in the dining area. Very little in the way of decor, minus some very loud Pittsburgh prints/paintings. Again, not at all aligning with the decor or vibe of the original location, or with anything French or cafe-adjacent. I tried the breakfast sandwich and my husband tried the burrito, and we split a sweet crepe. The food itself was fine at best - pretty flavorless, but with decent portions. After you order at the counter, you serve yourself coffee in styrofoam (??) cups and grab pre-rolled silverware and salt/pepper/hot sauce from a large table. It felt very much like having breakfast in a church gathering hall more than anything else, but the price of our meal approached $40 for a pretty mediocre spread - the price did not match the quality. The self-service coffee was weak and had a sour aftertaste, and the silverware was greasy/covered in food specks. We were pretty floored by the whole experience, and not in a positive way.I really, really want to like this place because I have nostalgia for the original location, and I hope they figure it out, but they need to make some MASSIVE changes in order for me to consider going back at any point. I wish them the best and hope things improve!

Came here for brunch with my friends from out of town. The staff went out of their way to set tables up outside for us so we could dine with our dog. Fantastic accommodating service would come back anytime!

The veggies breakfast wrap was absolutely delicious and tasted fresh. The only downside is that the menu has seasonal items that you don't know are seasonal, so I was unable to get everything I originally ordered.

A lot could improve. As many have mentioned, the atmosphere was bland.. first noticed the LVP flooring was installed by someone who has no idea what they are doing. The giant TV menu is off putting and makes it feel like fast food, but with zero flair for marketing. Coffee and tea is self serve and would have rather done this at Sheetz. The only thing saving this place is the croissant sandwich and breakfast wrap tasted fresh, but over priced and bland. Service was non existent due to the set up of ordering at the counter. I should add- the worker did ask if we were doing alright during our stay. Too many better options in the area to consider first before visiting here again.Cafe Des AmissMeWithThat

Met my best friend for breakfast. We ordered a couple items off the menu and each one looked better than the next! The portions are extremely generous, and everything was hot and fresh, since it is made to order. Although it's a French name, and there is delicious French food, the ambience is more local Pittsburgh, which who can complain about that?!!Service was prompt, friendly and considerate. Definitely give a high recommendation!
