"One of the Best wines in Western Pennsylvania...I live maybe 10 minutes from Ripepi Winery. This place is me and my wife's favorite winery. I have tried wines in North East, and Central PA, Napa Valley and all over the midwest. This place is a small winery that has some very good wines. Everything I've tried here is always terrific. The red wines that are my favorite is Cabernet Sauvignon, Chancellor, Malbec, DeChaunac, Maréchal Foch, Steuben, and my whites consist of the Diamond Dry goes down dry but the aftertaste is a sweet fruity flavor, and Vidal Blanc. I'm a dry to semi-dry person. However I've tried all of them and they are all good. This place is wonderful. Everyone from the owner to the staff is always so wonderful and helpful. Free wine tasting, The place has monthly events sometimes on Fridays they have happy hours, and social events on Sunday's in the summer. They have a case club where you can sign up and have 3 bottles delivered to your house every 3 months. Please take my advice and visit this place one time. It will be worth your while."
"This is a really lovely spot to relax and enjoy some good wine and food. They have a full assortment of a menu here and a really lovely patio. They also have a full calendar of musical entertainment happening seemingly nightly! The pretzel sticks were amazing! I was hungry and forgot to take a picture (you know how that goes!). The wine was really tasty and they have a slew of choices. The margherita pizza was delicious!"
"My wife and I don't live anywhere near here, but my in-laws live about 45 minutes away. We've been here twice. We had such a good experience the first time, we had to come back again when we were nearby. My wife prefers dry wines, I prefer sweet wines, but I'm open to all types. We both found several things we like here and were pretty surprised at the quality of the wine. We did a flight each time we went and bought bottles to go when we left both times. We don't always buy bottles unless it's something we both can enjoy together. The place had a lot of character. Someone put a lot of thought and work into the decor, design, and atmosphere of the place. It was artistic and comfortable. I always appreciate that. We chose to sit at the bar both times, but enjoyed looking around at the walls and taking a trip up the stairs for a nice overhead view of the first floor. The service was great and really is the selling point for returning. It's the number one reason that we'll go back again when we're in town. The wine tasted great, the atmosphere was nice, but it's the service that puts this place over the top. Hopefully we will always have this experience, but I do believe we had the same couple serving us both times.I'd obviously highly recommend anyone who enjoys drinking wine, going to wineries, or trying out new places."
""Oh, what a night, late December back in sixty three"... Actually, I can say what a night, but it was late February in 2017. Greenhouse Winery held their first adult prom wine event and it was a fun night out!Not sure if its because it was an age-related, turn-back the clock opportunity, or that I just needed an anything goes kind of night. In any case, I think I had more fun at this prom night than I did at my own so many moons ago. This review is centered on the night's event. The facility itself is quite lovely, inside and out, and was an absolute perfect setting for the evening. The event was promoted as an adult prom party, complete with dinner, dancing, photo booth and wine tasting. ( no need to sneak alcohol into this prom!) Since this was not exclusively a couples only event, I decided to turn this into a girl's night out. Time to blow off the dust on those dancing shoes!I must admit, the closer this date approached, I begin to have mixed feelings about it being a lame affair. Their no-refund policy is probably a good idea for 2nd guessers like myself. My moment of relief occurred as soon as we stepped foot inside. Laughter and excitement filled the air! It was fun to see everyone dressed up in their prom-wear. The meal was served buffet-style and was average, though nourishing. It was a little odd that they did not offer a second serving of anything. We didn't know it was a one trip only to the buffet so when we returned to get some of the food we didn't place on our plates the first time, we were denied. The four star review is directed toward the choice of caterer. Overall, as stated earlier, it was a great night. New friendships and memories were formed, and the party vibe continued throughout the night. So much so, we had to remember to find our way home before the strike of midnight!"
"This place is great if you need supplies. They always have any of the supplies that I need. Love this place. It's 30 mins from my house but they always got what I want or need. I recommend this place. The owners are very nice and knowledgeable about wine."
"I wandered in here during the recent polar vortex and the warm greeting from the woman behind the counter helped melt the polar vortex blues away. The tasting was free we bought a couple bottles of Rose that was quite mild and palatable. They have honey hives in the store and we shared stories of trying to harvest honey. This place is an unexpected bit of charm behind the mall."
"What a perfect spot to spend some time with a friend. Two of us met for drinks and dinner. We ended up sharing the hummus plate and the charcuterie board. Both were wonderful. We were happy to learn the wine flights are buy one get one half off on Thursdays. So, of course, we went with them. There are sets of 4 wines offered to choose from or you can select your own.Melissa was a delight have as our server. She was friendly, kind and knowledgeable. She made great suggestions as well as proving us with attentive service all evening. There is one thing that could make the appetizers even better: they need to be served with some kind of utensils so that guests can easily serve themselves. We had to find creative ways to serve the jam, mustard, olives and feta, and use our fingers for the rest of the other food items. Since we ate from our forks, we only had our knives to work with. We would have preferred to have some small spoons served with the sauces in appetizers, and some picks in the cheese and meets to keep from using our fingers. We decided to buy growlers to take some of the amazing Violet cider home. Now that we each have a growler, we'll definitely return soon to get refills. Cheers!"
"OurThis was our first winery visit along our route for the weekend in 2017. Too bad it was raining because the outside around the small lake is absolutely beautiful. The inside of the winery is quite beautiful and very nice. The lady explaining about the wines did a terrific job. She explained about the wines very well. She was accommodating. She said the owners are redoing the lake area. They are going to have available seats in the lake while you sip wine. How incredible. The wine was really good. I liked the Pinot Noir as my favorite. All of the dry whites were very good. Current Post Fast Forward 4 years. So much has changed with this place. They have really expanded since 4 years ago. They have created what I would call or they call Nova Destinations. When you arrive into the facility, the lights are very nice, 4 years ago, no lights. They have a tour guide and vehicle transportation via cart to the different locations. Winery is in the same location, Brew 32 is above, but now you can drive x amount feet away to visit the liquid fusion building, they have hard cider from Knocking Noggin, and a distillery that was recently opened up. The place is amazing and all I've ever wanted to do is come here during a nice day to drink outside. This was our 3rd visit to the area. As for the wine, we did a sample of the wine and I wasn't impressed with the wine. Maybe it was better previously, maybe this was just not a good batch. But it was so so.."
"Loved this winery. It's been on our radar for a year. We finally decided to check it out.The name itself is well fitting. The owners were very nice. They have dry to sweet wines. All of the wines are very good. The continent is a dry red which was my favorite. We tried all wines which is $3 for all which is good. Love this place HIGHLY RECOMMEND.."
"This place is such a nice little find. I was heading out to Somerset one day and happen to see it on the way. Me and my GF stopped in and purchased a bottle of cold bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and a cheese tray with crackers. Wow! They were both so good. We sat on the deck and enjoyed it very much even and even though it was 100 degrees out that day we still felt good due to the umbrellas and cold wine. The owners were very kind and helpful. If you get a chance stop in and get a bottle and a cheese tray. You will thank me later."
"J&D has opened tasting room near the Meadows Casino. I have been to their 84 location, and it's great. This location was equally as fun, if not more. Parking is super convenient. Wine tasting is $5 for 6 wines, but the fee is waived if you purchase a bottle. The bottles are fairly priced as well. This is a family owned and operated business. The man helping us during our tasting was amazing, and had so much knowledge of the wine his family works so hard to blend and produce (owners son, I feel terrible I can't remember his name)There was also a live two man band on Friday night, can't beat it!I will absolutely be back here."
"My father and his brother grew up here in the next town. Visiting for my cousins daughters graduation tomorrow and killing time today. So glad we did. Had a little taste of everything and walked happy with a bottle in each hand."

The vineyard is tucked into the town of Monongahela , just outside of Pittsburgh, on a beautiful 10 acre family property that has been around for 36 years. I tried their new Traminette wine which I really loved. It had the most amazing floral aroma, citrus notes, and a bitter finish that reminded me of an ale. We were also treated to an amazing spread by @thecheesequeenpgh , pizza and sandwiches by @owenpucel , and a fantastic tour by owners Rich and Janelle. I, obviously a beer girl, learned SO much about wine this visit. What makes this spot unique is that they grown their own grapes . I can also tell that the love and care these great people put into their family business makes it very special place as well.

If half stars were allowed I'd probably say 3.5 stars. Mostly because it seems like they are having an identity crisis. The place is huge. Two cavernous inside rooms, a patio and during the winter months, heated igloos you can rent out for two hours.I knew it was a winery but didn't expect they also would have ciders, beers and cocktails. They had flights available but said they "don't really offer tastings" which I don't know I've ever encountered at a winery before. I chose a "choose your own" flight for $20. The highlight for me was a cab franc because it is one of my favorites but not a lot of places make it. Choose your own is supposed to allow you to choose ciders and cocktails (it says it right in the description) but the person serving me gave me a bit of a hard time about it.I also decided to order some food. I suppose it is kind of expected in places like this, but I was surprised at how expensive the food options were for what they were and what portions you got.Overall, I think it would be really fun to go back to with a group of friends or for one of their events.

This is a nice little space that I wish was in the Pittsburgh area. Their ciders are made in-house are amazing. I would recommend the prickly pear cactus fruit cider. It has a pretty color and isn't overly sweet compared to most ciders.

This property is absolutely gorgeous! You would never know it's tucked into the hills off the main highway of route 30. Once you drive up the big hill, it looks pretty basic at first. But when you enter and then go to the back patio, everything suddenly transforms into a cute oasis. I went here for my birthday and I loved the experience! I tried the cherry wine and fell in love with it. Sitting on the patio with the fountain running was incredibly peaceful. The fountain is also good for photo ops! They weren't serving food at the time but they did have bags of chips available for purchase. We take what we can get. Next time, I'll bring my charcuterie board which is what another table did and what a fantastic idea! The staff was very helpful and friendly in allowing me to taste multiple wines before deciding on a glass. I highly recommend and I'll be back myself.

Small family run business with very friendly and helpful service. The selection and quality of their offerings are superior, with a few unique wines that are hard to find elsewhere. While the location isn't as picturesque and relaxing as many wineries can be, the store itself is a pleasant experience, and is very conveniently located for a quick and easy stop if just passing by the area.

Prefacing this with the fact that I've only ever sat outside and drank here (I've never sat inside or had their food). I love this spot!! Bella Terra has a great wine selection so that is always enjoyable. They now carry other local drinks like the Stateside and Surfside seltzers - so good! I love the vibes of the outdoor seating, twinkly lights, fire pit, etc. It's really relaxing and chill! The service has always been amazing and really friendly. I definitely recommend this spot. I wish I would have taken pics!

Made a 2nd visit to "The Property" by Nova Destinations in Pulaski for an afternoon of munchies and drinks with the family. With four separate mini destinations, each with its own alcohol and food menu, The Property is has become one our family "must go" locations to get together. There was some off and on rain when we went but each location on The Property provided shelter until the clouds passed. Nothing stopped our little party and we had fun with the sprinkles. We also brought our fur baby Boo who was welcome at all buildings both indoors and outside with her leash. The staff was very friendly and kept us well served with food and delicious drinks. My favorites include Nova's blended sweet wine The Dragon, a Concord Red wine, and Skallywag Distilling's Limoncello. After roaming the various locations (shuttle is also provided if you desire) you can collect your own bottles of your favorites in the building at the exit. That way you aren't lugging your choices throughout the day.

"They were hosting a fish fry fundraiser for St. Stanislaus Kostka Stained Glass Window. We came for lunch on Friday, and there were plenty of tables available. You order at the bar and they bring the food to your table. I got a fish sandwich with haluski and coleslaw. The service was great, and the food didn't take very long to come. Since it was at a restaurant, I expected it to taste better than regular church fish fry. But it wasn't very notable. It did make me intrigued about the restaurant though. Overall, it wasn't the best fish fry I've had, but I appreciated their heart and service. We actually stayed a while and they didn't rush us out. I would definitely come back to try some of their regular food."
"J C Wine Cellars has become our go-to "fancy date" restaurant, and I have yet to be disappointed. Although a bit pricey, the food is always stellar. On my most recent visit, I had bacci formaggio- homemade tender pockets of pasta filled with three Italian cheeses in a tomato basil cream sauce. My fiance had rock shrimp stuffed with crab. Both were perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. Each meal is served with a delicious fresh salad (I recommend the Gorgonzola dressing...well worth the extra charge) and fresh, crusty Italian bread. Despite a somewhat strange decor (it's housed in a renovated garage), the staff does everything they can to provide an elegant dining experience. The house wine is quite good as well. Although it is a little bit of a long drive from Wheeling, it's well worth it for a special occasion-the drive is quite pleasant in good weather."
"Had date night here recently to listen to our buddy Jesse (aka the Next Nolan) play music. Lovely, rustic place. I liked that it wasn't overcrowded and we could actually talk. My husband and I split a bottle of elderberry wine, and I had the taco special and he had two small pizzas. I even ended the night with a glass of pineapple wine-which is a lot for me, I never drink these days. But it was all so tasty. I can't wait to enjoy that patio in the summer."
"Beautiful is the operative word for this place. All you NE Ohio Yelpers who do wineries up your way, come on down. This place is worth a taste. Check the website for a map. There are signs off I-76.New, elegant architecture grabs you as you walk in. There's plenty of seating inside. Individual tastings are possible, but I'd suggest the sampler platter. You get a taste of all their wines for about $6.50. Seating outside is an option as well and a good one at that when the weather is nice. The vineyards, such as they are, can be seen from the patio area, along with a pond and a nice wooded area. If you care for live jazz/folk music while sipping, you'll want to make the trip on Friday or Saturday, get there before 6PM and sit outside. Parking appears to be just less than adequate if they get busy (read: Saturday evening). As for the wines, well, I've had a few in the Lake Erie region of Ohio and these are some of the best. Although I can't say definitively, they don't appear to be using any of their own grapes. I suspect they're buying grapes/juice. My recommendation is the Chardonnay. Very buttery, dry and a smooth finish. My wife's recommendation is the Riesling. This is a dry Riesling, with, as the tasting guide indicates, a crisp finish. I thought it had a bit of a fizz to it. Finally, as I'm not a fan of Ohio reds, this place didn't change my mind, but I found the Dolce Rosso to be a nice dessert red. I think slightly chilled would be the best option here. There is a light menu, but the food is quite good. I've had the chicken, pulled pork and sausage sandwiches. All were very good. They came with the classic deli accompaniments, pickle spear and potato chips. Although I didn't get one, the cheese trays looked dreadful but a patron at the bar indicated that the Stuffed Hot banana pepper with Chorizo sausage & marinara was very good. You'll find an interesting mix of folks from the Escalade set to the college double-daters to forty-somethings like myself to the occasional line worker at GM Lordstown. Watching the crowd can be just as fun as anything else here."
"We were introduced to this Winery on the Everett Railroad Wine Train. Afterward, with a short drive, we arrived at the winery. The staff in the train and at the winery were all very friendly. We tried several wines at both locations and they all are very good. BUT .... You must try their Wine Ice Cream. It is absolutely delicious!!"
"Awesome little winery. This is our second visit in a couple of years. I have to say the second time was even better than the first time. If that's possible. It was just starting off when we originally went here. They've expanded much since the first visit. They have good wines. Some of the reds are ok, but I liked the Cab, but purchased the Pinot Noir, because it's my favorite grape, but they didn't have it available for serving. (Taking a chance) :)"
"Our first visit to this new hidden gem winery. The main winery where the wine is made is located in Burgettstown. I first Herod the winery from Scott Blasey of the Clark's during the pandemic. He'd always thank Borelli Cellars for the wine during the Blasement series. This winery is in the Galleria along 19 in Mt. Lebanon. It's the nicest winery that I've ever seen in a mall. The place is laid out nicely. They offer 3 wines or spirits for $6. I had 3 wines that I tried, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese Reserve and Old Zinfandel and had a glass of the Pinot Grigio. They were all good. I really liked the Cab as my favorite. The lady that took our order and told us about the drinks was very pleasant and nice. They also have a distillery and have vodkas, bourbon and rum. I wanted to try the bourbon but they were sold out."
"The first winery in historic Bedford. I went to listen to Chet and Michael, and I was blown away with this music performed in this perfect room and the acoustic sounds of the "PennSOULvanians". If you're lucky enough to get a seat order the Bella Burger, it was so freaking delicious. The fontina cheese, garlic aioli, and homemade pickles made this burger absolutely delicious. My friend had the California Chipotle Chicken flatbread and said it was that good. Unfortunately, I have a sulfite allergy and cannot drink wine however my friend said the Riesling was good and paired well with the flatbread. They offer beer on tap from Olde Bedford Brewery, "Not your average Joe" 4% ABV. This Kolsch style beer was crisp and refreshing. Erica our server was full of energy and had a knack for reading people and knew exactly what we should order. Just go and you will be impressed. Good times."
"VentiSei Winery is a must stop! I think the first and most important thing is the hospitality. My fiancé and I walked in and our conversation was "Hi, you guys been here before?" "Nope!""Wanna try some free wine?""Yep!"That was with Mike. He let us sample wines and their slushies. We sat outside and he came out to turn on the heater for us, and started the fire for another family there hanging out. He talked with us for a while and was just very welcoming and friendly! The food so so good! Denny, the owner, cooks the food fresh every day, and you can tell. The ingredients taste fresh and the basil is beautiful. They add touches to their food to personalize it to their winery and vision. The pizzas are definitely enough to share, and you leave feeling full without the bloated feeling. The dough is light and the crust is so soft and airy! The environment is very laid back and personable. They've remodeled the entire building and are constantly adding new things to the structure and menu. It's a great place to go hangout with friends or for a family dinner. They have a ton of different entertainment and really work to be a winery for the people they're serving. It's a great place for sure. I have my bridal shower scheduled here and I cannot wait! Because yes, they cater and it's beautiful how they lay out the food! It's not just pizza either, Denny offers to work with you on whatever you're thinking for the catering. Great place all around, highly recommend. Also, 10/10 don't recommend you volunteering to be the DD because you will be HIGHLY disappointed once you realize what their concord slushie tastes like! Gonna need a party bus for my shower!"
"This is one of my favorite local hidden gems to get some of the best fresh baked goods with the home grown Sand Hill Berries. I highly recommend their chocolate raspberry cookies, and any of their pies. (Make sure you AT LEAST try the raspberry! Go early though, or order ahead...they sale out..FAST!) They are to die for! Also, don't neglect trying out some of their home made vinaigrettes. HIGHLY recommend the raspberry in this, as well! They also have beautiful grounds you can walk around, and animals to see (be sure to stop by and see the goats--they are very friendly!). They even have a peacock!"
"I've gone to this winery a couple times and have had a nice experience. The summertime outdoor music was an enjoyable and relaxing way to spend a weekend afternoon. The paint on the old building might be peeling so just be careful what you touch.Whether you choose to go for a bottle of wine or a can of seltzer, they have enough different tastes to suit most connoisseurs."
"I visited Vinoski Winery for the first time on Saturday. I tried calling 3 different times the morning of to see if we could bring food and how tastings/reservations worked. The automated message never let me speak to a real person. I couldn't find much info on the website or Facebook either, so we decided to wing it! The drive was about 45 minutes from Pittsburgh, but with all the red lights it felt like it took forever to get there! All of a sudden you make a turn into the beautiful entrance to the castle. Once we got up the hill we were told to park in the grass. There wasn't anyone directing people where to go for wine tasting or the concert, but we followed the music. We arrived at 3:30 PM knowing the concert started at 5 oclock. We thought we could tour the house and taste some wines before the show started outside. We kept trying to walk in different doors, but they said wristbands only. We definitely looked lost. The volunteer outside with blonde hair was so sweet and tried to help us. We couldn't find any actual employees outside. She let us in the door that said wrist bands only and showed us where the tasting bar was. We ordered 2 dry tastings, which were $20 each. I thought that was steep for 5 samples. The cashier gave us a ticket which we then took over to the wine bar. She was not friendly at all when I paid or when I asked about where to purchase a bottle. The wine concierge Doug was great. He was super knowledgeable and fun. We each picked out 5 wines from the list to taste. He informed us that they were sold out of about 4 different wines, but the list usually stays the same. I tried the Petite Sirah, Symphonia, Cabernet, Pinot Noir, and Reserve blend. The wines were really good, but lighter than what I expected from a West Coast wine. The grapes come from Washington, Oregon, and California. I wish they would have had their Lodi ZIn because I usually love those! Doug informed us that instead of pressing the grapes, they use free run juice which is the juice that flows from freshly picked grapes during the destemming and crushing process, prior to the pressing process. "When winemakers put the grapes into the winepress, the grapes are stacked on top of each other and the weight of the fruit causes the release of some juice." I have read about this process, but never had wine from somewhere that did this before. The Reserve was a California Bordeaux blend and it was definitely the best wine. I loved how smooth and well balanced it was. They gave us oyster crackers in a little cup at the tasting bar.The house is 12,000 square feet and is now used for bridal showers and special events. We got a table outside and set up all the snacks I brought. Once more people started arriving, they brought full charcuterie plates, and now we know that outside food is allowed. They also make homemade wood fired pizza outside. We got a half plain, half pepperoni pizza and it was really good! The bottom was charred and it was delicious. I would go back for a show or one of their special wine dinners. The sound and lights for the concert was great! It was a fun little day trip."
"Great little spot with a good selection of types of wines. The tasting room was cozy and made you feel like you could hang out a while. Our server was very nice and you could tell he was passionate about wine. He even found a variety my picky mother enjoyed! The prices are reasonable and I can't wait to try their other location."
"This was our first visit to the winery. We seen it had popped up recently. Then it popped up on the Laurel Highlands Pour Tour. I said we have to go. We love wineries in barns. It's 54 minutes from the south hills of Pittsburgh but worth the drive. When you arrive they have spacious parking. Lots of red small barns in the back of the property. In addition to a stage that they are building. Appears that this was once a theater. When you enter the building it's the the left of the building on the side. They have igloos that you can rent to sit in. I assume when the weather warms up more availability outside will provide more seating. Inside it's a decent size for seats. It's warm and cozy inside the red barn.Long bar area. You take a seat and they will come out and help you. They have wine flights, moonshine flights from our local winery Giant Oaks. In addition to local beer from Noble Stein in Indiana, Sobels from Jeanette, Hazy from Helltown and a couple other random beers but from PA. The flights are by dry, red, white and it's 4 nice size pours. I did the red butt asked if I can alter out the two sweet for two sets. My wife did the same on the whites. I tried the Cab, Malbec, Chambourcin Reserve and Petit Syrah. I liked them all. The Malbec had a nice aroma coming from the wine, it was a bold flavor, tasted smooth. The Cab smell was smooth and tasted very smooth ( my fav), Petit had a dry but flavorful taste but the Chambourcin was dry and a little tart. My wife's wines were good. The Seyval smelled unique and had a good taste. The Pinot Grigio didn't throw off many aromas but was very good. Overall great experience with the wines. I noticed the stainless steel tanks in the back room when you walk to the restroom. They also offer a small section of food from artichoke dip, flatbread, stuffed peppers to a cheese tray. All good options. We had the flatbread and it tasted good. Helped with the wine sampling. This place just opened and they are still building out. Such as the wine sign that I pose in front of us coming soon. Which means we need to return. Overall great experience and we will be back more often."
"This winery was a shocker for us. We had traveled to Ohio and had visited 3 wineries that we haven't been to. I had seen this one on the list before, but I never gave it a second thought, because we were always a way to far out.My wife said we were 7 minutes away. We decided why not. I will say that when you enter the building, never judge a book by its cover. I thought this would be a terrible experience.I was completely wrong. As soon as I walked in Jim greeted me with the humor of my WVU sweatshirt. He was the best winery host that we had experienced all day, and maybe all year, and we've been to least 70 different wineries this year. He got our feel what we liked, provided us the sample, then said maybe you would like to try this, and he was right. He was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.. The best thing is the wine, all of the dry, and even the semi-dry to the dessert wine was really good. We purchased a 1/2 case of wine, which happens to be our largest purchase for the trip.I HIGHLY recommend this place, they get their juice from the local region. Which you can tell by the great taste."
"This is just down the road from the Grove City outlet mall & next to Wendell August Forge. I think it used to be a very tiny winery in Volant. I sat at the bar and did not partake of the wine tasting, because most of the wines here are sweet or semi-sweet including the driest white, which was a Chardonnay. I am not a sweet wine fan, but it was drinkable. They also do wine slushees from machines & cocktails. They have a decent menu including woodfired pizza & my Caprese pizza was absolutely delicious. During warmer the weather the patio & outdoor area will be a big draw."
"I was honestly extremely impressed with this winery. It's a small, family owned place. This is not a high muckity-muck place where you need to worry about how tight your tie is around your neck, or how long your shirt sleeves are. However, I will say this. I loved -every- wine we tried. I ran through the gambit of their wines, and I was impressed by every one of them. The quality, clarity, and taste honestly outperformed places that you'd expect to be much better. Their wines have a smoothness, quality and drinkability that highly outperforms other places. This has quickly become one of my favorite wineries. It's a place where you can go to let your hair down, be COMFORTABLE, and still be IMPRESSED with extremely high quality wine!Highly suggest trying EVERYTHING. But, I will do a shout-out to their Vidal, their Niagara and their fruit wines. I will also add this. I normally HATE cabernet. It's just not my thing, honestly. But...this place is the ONLY cabernet that I've found that I can tolerate... and actually LIKE and ENJOY it! They truly run the place concerned with your experience, and how good their wines are. It's quite obvious they actually take the quality of their wine seriously. Highly recommend!"
"We have been here in the past when it had just opened up. We are doing the Laurel Highlands Pour Tour. I'm happy we waited to come back. The wine has improved in what it tastes like and the amount of wine that they have available. The dornfelder was my favorite. However I tried the Pinotage, Pinot Noir, Cab, Syrah and Petit Verdot, they were all very good. I was very impressed with the wine and want to use this winery in my next event for raising money for students to study abroad. I recommend visiting this winery, it's outside of Pittsburgh but has very good wine. Wine Sampling is complimentary at 5 samples."
"Hartford Hills has been on our to do list ever since moving to Ohio. We're not big drinkers, especially wine, and based on other winery visits in the past, we didn't feel terribly motivated. What a surprise! The barn is an amazing charming atmosphere and the food, albeit lightweight, tastes amazing. It's also very keen of them to offer a healthy craft beer selection as an alternative. Everything is order at the bar. Take drinks with you, and place a number placard on your table for food delivery. You can keep open a tab as they physically hold your card, or pay as you go. We went right at opening (4pm) on a Saturday in August. There were storms on the horizon so all the table reservations were held inside. We were still able to get a nice table as walk ins. Actually it was a perfect table near the stage. Too bad we were way too early for the live music. There were a couple of large groups celebrating birthdays in the back room by the fireplace."
"First visit to this winery. The owner was very nice and pleasant. She provided a nice background story on the place. They've been making wine since 2009. We tried the reds and some white wine. I thought everything was good.I had a glass of the cab, and my wife enjoyed a glass of the Steuben. In which it was a great tasting semi-dry wine. The pino grigio was my favorite.I recommend checking this place out. They're opened in the evening hours during the week. Longer on the weekends."
"We've tried to visit here several years ago. When I came inside the lights were off and nobody insight.Today we decided to call first and then visit. We arrived and Christian the owners son had introduced himself. He had explained about the restrictions around COVID that they are only doing samples and bottle purchased. He said this was his parents guidelines. That's fine that they do not want to take a risk, but every one else is doing so. Anyhow he said they've been opened for 11 years. He said it's still a hobby for his dad who is a MD Surgeon. Okay the wine; 5 samples and they had a bunch that were sold out. They make all of the wine in stainless. They do add sticks of different wood flavors for some red wines. All of the wine grapes from Lake Erie. All of the wines that I tasted were good. The dry wines, I tasted sugar in them as if he adds extra sugar to the wines. Christian went through all of the wines, tastes, how to taste and why really well. We will return, this guy can do some comedy as well. :)"
"absolutely beautiful inside and so tastefully decorated for fall festivities. this would be a wonderful place to host an event. the offer a couple beers on tap and also there wine. i was not really blown away by the wine but i enjoy very dry wines and most wineries you get the local grape harvest and in these parts it's often fruit forward and in the sweet side"
"The weather forecast said that there was a high chance of rain, so we were looking for things to do that were indoors generally near the airport in advance of our flights out that afternoon. I found this tasting room by searching on Yelp and we decided we'd go for a wine tasting. You can get six 1-ounce pours for $6 or six 2-ounce pours for $12. You get to choose your flight from what was ~30 different choices, so definitely can choose your own adventure. I haven't had much Pennsylvania wine and had assumed it was mostly sweet wine. The selection here proved me wrong and of the 6 (well 7 as they gave us a bonus pour) I tasted, there wasn't one I didn't like. The shop is casual in feel and the staff member we spoke to was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. There are quite a few different events, including book clubs, movie clubs, wine and food pairings, pop-up shopping events and more, so be sure to check out some of the different events they offer if you're in the area."
