"Absolute gem of a place. So nice and secluded in the woods, although a little hard to find. Service is top notch. Got my order almost instantaneously. And the food was incredible. I was most impressed with how every person I talked to was so friendly and helpful. The staff is attentive and respectful. Also the vibe of the restaurant is rustic elegance."
"What a spectacular venue located along the Allegheny River! It's a lush oasis within the city. Ponds, swimming pool in a greenhouse, trails, koi, chickens laying fresh eggs and so much more.A true experience."

"My first visit to the holiday popup at 1781. I loved the festive decorations that included a live Santa Claus. Everyone knows Santa. The food came out fast. I enjoyed the smash burger with fresh hand-cut fries. The geese a laying cocktail was refreshing and similar to a mule. The staff and everyone was very helpful."
"This is a really lovely spot to relax and enjoy some good wine and food. They have a full assortment of a menu here and a really lovely patio. They also have a full calendar of musical entertainment happening seemingly nightly! The pretzel sticks were amazing! I was hungry and forgot to take a picture (you know how that goes!). The wine was really tasty and they have a slew of choices. The margherita pizza was delicious!"
""Oh, what a night, late December back in sixty three"... Actually, I can say what a night, but it was late February in 2017. Greenhouse Winery held their first adult prom wine event and it was a fun night out!Not sure if its because it was an age-related, turn-back the clock opportunity, or that I just needed an anything goes kind of night. In any case, I think I had more fun at this prom night than I did at my own so many moons ago. This review is centered on the night's event. The facility itself is quite lovely, inside and out, and was an absolute perfect setting for the evening. The event was promoted as an adult prom party, complete with dinner, dancing, photo booth and wine tasting. ( no need to sneak alcohol into this prom!) Since this was not exclusively a couples only event, I decided to turn this into a girl's night out. Time to blow off the dust on those dancing shoes!I must admit, the closer this date approached, I begin to have mixed feelings about it being a lame affair. Their no-refund policy is probably a good idea for 2nd guessers like myself. My moment of relief occurred as soon as we stepped foot inside. Laughter and excitement filled the air! It was fun to see everyone dressed up in their prom-wear. The meal was served buffet-style and was average, though nourishing. It was a little odd that they did not offer a second serving of anything. We didn't know it was a one trip only to the buffet so when we returned to get some of the food we didn't place on our plates the first time, we were denied. The four star review is directed toward the choice of caterer. Overall, as stated earlier, it was a great night. New friendships and memories were formed, and the party vibe continued throughout the night. So much so, we had to remember to find our way home before the strike of midnight!"
"This pop up at Allegheny River park is just lovely with plenty of seating, great views, friendly service, and an overall fantastic experience. We had Marc's Fancy Popcorn which had a raspberry and white chocolate drizzle Footprints farm confit duck and kimchi pizza which was absolutely delicious. The park was beautiful with plenty of parking and seating by the water. @tracebrewing will be there every Friday until about mid-November with beer as a pop up."
"Kids had a party to go at the bowling and laser tag next door.Went to the bar and found a great selection of draft beers and a huge amount of tv's.Went ahead and ordered a shrimp po boy sandwich and was pleasantly surprised on how good it was.Got your typical bar food and as a bonus they have some great food offerings also.Great place to come to!"
"Heather hill inn was the perfect place to stay for me and my husband. Very clean and the room was spacious with a fireplace and jacuzzi tub. Just what we needed from our travels. Soon as we arrived We felt at home the owner showed us around offered us water and use of the kitchen. Showed us to our comfy quiet room, we turned on the fireplace and I soaked in the Jacuzzi tub just what we needed from our travels. Breakfast the next morning was amazing and she kept the food coming. We will definitely be staying again!!!"
"Yesterday, I attended a friend's bridal shower at the Chadwick. I had driven by the traditional-style Chadwick sign multiple times while heading from Cranberry/Wexford to McCandless/Ross Park areas after work but knew absolutely nothing about the establishment.I was very impressed by this venue space. Upon entering, there was great signage to find where to go for the event that you were attending. The building seemed to be very well maintained and recently renovated. Everything that I consumed was also delicious. From the beverages to the brunch of sausage links, eggs with cheese, banana french toast, and yogurt parfaits, I was really impressed with the quality of the food! I generally have very low expectations for the food served at an event space like this one, but the quality of food here far exceeded my expectations."
"Visited their food truck when they were at Stick City - fantastic food & friendly service, 100% would recommend. I had the bolognese, just the right ratio of meat to sauce and a good variety of meats, really nice Maillard effects too... and the shrimp vodka was outstanding."
"Came here to hear live music from Jill West and Blues Attack. Loved outdoor setup under roof cover but open air. Music and food did not disappoint. I ordered a fried fish sandwich and fries. What else should I have ordered being the setting is on a marina? The fish was much bigger than the bun. Why is that the norm of restaurants?? Anyway, it was good and hit the spot as did the music. The crowd was mostly an elderly crowd, many of them dancing the entire time and having a great time. I would come here again."
"The golf course is good. The cost is reasonable. The banquets are reasonably priced and the service has always been good- I have been here for several golf outings and events. The drinks are a little overpriced but I expect that with a country club. However, the general manager is horrible to work with and generally unpleasant or I would have given this another star."

A beautiful place for a fancy/romantic dinner. The ambiance in a big rustic wooden house is so romantic and lovely. The food is delicious but the portions are small. I ordered their Soup de jour, Caesar salad, trout, and chocolate crème brûlée. All very tasty. The reasons behind the missing star: It took too long to give us our bills without any explanation, we asked for two separate checks and the waitress agreed but at the end told us they can only divide the price by half! Therefore, their service although fast and friendly while serving food, did not deserve more than three stars. Also it was a little bit overpriced. We enjoyed our visit but I cannot recommend this place without hesitation.

What a totally awesome and cool secret oasis along the Allegheny River above the old Lock#2 location. This is private property so you need to visit through Doors Open Pittsburgh or a garden tour. The venue used to be available as a BNB and a wedding venue, but not since COVID. If you have an opportunity to visit, don't hesitate! Beautiful gardens, ponds, chickens, a meditation area and more!

Food, service and ambiance are incredible! The cellar downstairs is open to the public and has a really nice elevated bar menu feel. The upstairs "Farmers Table" is for members only and has a high end menu that changes weekly. Definitely a great spot to eat and play golf!

If half stars were allowed I'd probably say 3.5 stars. Mostly because it seems like they are having an identity crisis. The place is huge. Two cavernous inside rooms, a patio and during the winter months, heated igloos you can rent out for two hours.I knew it was a winery but didn't expect they also would have ciders, beers and cocktails. They had flights available but said they "don't really offer tastings" which I don't know I've ever encountered at a winery before. I chose a "choose your own" flight for $20. The highlight for me was a cab franc because it is one of my favorites but not a lot of places make it. Choose your own is supposed to allow you to choose ciders and cocktails (it says it right in the description) but the person serving me gave me a bit of a hard time about it.I also decided to order some food. I suppose it is kind of expected in places like this, but I was surprised at how expensive the food options were for what they were and what portions you got.Overall, I think it would be really fun to go back to with a group of friends or for one of their events.

This property is absolutely gorgeous! You would never know it's tucked into the hills off the main highway of route 30. Once you drive up the big hill, it looks pretty basic at first. But when you enter and then go to the back patio, everything suddenly transforms into a cute oasis. I went here for my birthday and I loved the experience! I tried the cherry wine and fell in love with it. Sitting on the patio with the fountain running was incredibly peaceful. The fountain is also good for photo ops! They weren't serving food at the time but they did have bags of chips available for purchase. We take what we can get. Next time, I'll bring my charcuterie board which is what another table did and what a fantastic idea! The staff was very helpful and friendly in allowing me to taste multiple wines before deciding on a glass. I highly recommend and I'll be back myself.

This place is visually a treat for the eyes. Decor is so cute and I love the concept (fresh farm to table). A little spendy but it was a nice treat. Kind of limited menu but I enjoyed what we got.

I came here on a Friday night with my girlfriends family to enjoy some drinks and dinner. The bar has tons of beers on tap. The menu is extensive and gives even picky eaters options. They also have tons of activities! There is a bowling ally connected to the restaurant, along with pool and darts. There is a ton of seating and they can accommodate large groups pretty well! There was a well balanced atmosphere of families and people just having a drink. The service was a bit confusing, I was unsure who was waiting tables vs bar tending. It seemed like whoever was free was sent out to take orders. That made a little complicated for reordering drinks and our food. We got fried pickles as an appetizer. The fried pickles were great! The breading stuck to them well and they weren't soaked in grease. The dill ranch was also homemade and it was good with the pickles. My girlfriend got the western burger and I got the Bronx Bomber. The waitress said the lowest temp they could cook the burger was medium. That is always a huge let down for me. Don't even ask if you can't do anything below a certain temperature. Other than that the burger had a good grilled flavor and the onion rings went well on top. My sandwich was lack luster. The name was appealing and I had high expectations. It was a mix between a Rachel and a Ruben. The bread was toasted but the meat was still kind of cold and the cheese wasn't melted. It didn't have that much meat on it either.

So pleased with the service we received here. The breakfast was amazing and the rooms are very clean and tidy. The location is picturesque and there's so much to do nearby. Definitely staying here again whenever I'm in the Pittsburgh area. Best BnB in my experience.

"We loved having our wedding at the WBU! Natasha, the owner and coordinator, was so great to work with - she is professional, organized, and so helpful. She worked with us to reschedule our 2020 wedding to 2021 and helped us figure out all the steps through planning and implementing our ceremony and reception. She even ran out for more wine when our guests blazed through our original stock! Location wise, the WBU is very close to the city, so we were able to get convenient hotel blocks at North Shore hotels that made it easy for our out of town guests to see Pittsburgh. Our party hard guests had an easy time getting Ubers to / from the venue because of how close it was to downtown. There is plenty of parking as well, including parking close to ADA ramps. Natasha's bar tending staff were also friendly and kept the good vibes going all night. Their help with tear down and clean up made the end of the night easy and stress free. The venue itself was perfect for our vintage inspired wedding. The ballroom has a classic Americana vibe and an awesome bar. The private green room for getting ready was so useful. Our guests loved how unique the ballroom was - and they loved being able to try drinks from the brewery downstairs as well. The venue has so much authentic Pittsburgh charm. We really wanted a venue with a personality that would shine and be part of the decor itself, and the WBU did exactly that."
"Great venue to turn to for a wide variety of entertainment, and events. Beautiful interior. Staff members are helpful, professional and upbeat. Their set-up easily accommodates large groups or single guests. I recommend signing up for their newsletter since most shows sell out fast if you do not have advanced notice. I prefer balcony seating because the lower main floor has limited mobility. I feel bad for the servers trying to get to each guest. Also keep in mind you end up sharing tables with strangers since they try to fill each table seat vs the bar-like arrangement in the balcony. Street parking and garage parking is conveniently located next to the winery."
"Great food, fast service. Food came in minutes. Seat yourself and enjoy breakfast all day and ask for daily specials."
"My second time here was last night to see/hear Jake Shimabukuro for a outstanding ukulele performance. (My first time was in 2012 pre-renovation with a showing of "A Christmas Story".) I dug around for factoids. This 300 seat theater was renovated in 2015 for $350,000. It is wonderful in so many aspects. There is actually room between you, the seated, and the seat in front of you. So much room, in fact, that I could cross my legs and not touch the seat in front. So much room, in fact, that a patron who needed to cross in front of me to get to their seat did not require me to stand up to let them pass. THAT, my reader, is room and tell me what other venue give you THAT! There are also table and chairs in the back with a bar. The sound was very good. We were 7 rows back smack in the center and we loved our seats. The only downside and it is a tad-bit significant, given the factoids of $350,000 being spent to renovate this bulding and having 300 seats -- that means 300 people just might have to use the restroom during any single event. Let's just suppose for fairness that 1/2 are women. Can you see where I might be going with this? Yes... the designers, the payers of this renovation saw fit that 2 stalls for the women's restroom, tiny stalls I might add, were sufficient and that anyone else could just wait in the hall clear up the stairs for all they cared for their turn and hope they had time during intermission to get back to their lovely, roomy seat for the rest of the show. Let me repeat -- 2 stalls for 1/2 of 300 seated patrons = 2 stalls for 150 guests. Sooo, minus a star for poor planning, poor redesign for lack of restrooms. Of course, I didn't go in nor ask my husband how the men's restroom compared for capacity. But, if ya got money to renovate, ya got room for 300 very roomy seats and a bar but ya dont' have room for a proper restroom? Bahhh! You're lucky I'm giving 4 stars which says "I'm a fan"...because everything else was so good about the place!"
"I was having a hard day when I visited Pittsburgh Botanic Garden which was dressed up for a holiday exhibition, the Dazzling Holidays ( Dates: November 24, 2023 - January 1, 2024) & that all eased with this magical experience set in nature. This experience taught me that taking time to enjoy the holiday lights can truly be nourishing. The bright lights & colors create Chromotherapy (color therapy) which triggers happy hormones & boosts energy levels. Then there's the nostalgia of it all. The memories, magic & joy this time of year brings can literally lift spirits. Festive warm drinks were available from PGH mobile bars I recommend the gingerbread hot chocolate!"
"I've been coming here for summer camp for 14 years now (3 as a camper, 11 as a counselor). This is by far one of the coolest weeks of the summer and I look forward to it every year! Location: On top of a mountain with an incredible overlook of Uniontown and 15 minutes from all the festivities of Ohiopyle. Activities: Offering a high ropes course, low ropes course, indoor rock climbing in the adventure center, outdoor rock climbing at various locations nearby, a cathedral in the woods, hiking trails to Jumonville Glen, a historical museum, king swing, ga ga ball, 9 square, 4 square, the iconic hike to the cross, partnering with outfitters from Ohiopyle for biking and white water rafting experience, tennis courts, basketball courts, and volleyball courts, frisbee golf, fire pits throughout campus and inside pavilions, chapel, arts and crafts building, and a swimming pool.Lodging: Either roughing it in the cabins or taking shelter in the air conditioned Washington Lodge. Food: Its summer camp, suck it up.This is an incredible way to spend a week of your summer. The views are breathtaking and the activities range from being adventurous to the more subdued. Will continue to be back here for a good week of devotion, peace, excitement, and fun!"
"I needed something to do after weeks of being quarantined and then overworked!Howl at the Moon is always a great place to go listen to some really good live music with dueling pianos and extremely gifted , creative, and talented performers! I even met some new people I can now call friends. The atmosphere is always happy, and the servers are really nice. All of the servers I've had have always been accommodating, pleasant and outgoing and I like that. I ordered a Moscow Mule and, as usual, it was delicous. I then, along with my new friends, ordered a Green Tea Shot and it was delicous!!!! I loved it. I haven't had food here because I don't think they accommodated Vegans, but that's OK because you can order food and have it delivered to the bar!!!! Awesomenesssssss! I did just that and was able to have my friends, food and great music!!!!!"
"A great family owned Italian restaurant. I usually dont think if eating here but this particular night we had a banquet. I was nothing but impressed with the quality of the food. Especially since it was mass produced food for a large group. The authentic spaghetti sauce was unforgettable. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the meatballs were as good as ive ever had. They also served an italian breaded chicken which was Cooked well and extremely flavorful. The red skinned potatoes and garlic green beans were excellent as well. They also serve homemade dinner rolls and sone of the best freshly brewed iced tea i have ever had. Service was stellar. Thus is a fantastic place with beautiful banquet halls. What a great experience. I will definitely consider having large celebrations here. Tge only downside is the bar was very limited. And im not sure why but they didnt let us run a bar tab which was most inconvenient. All in all job well done and i would recomnend"
"The answer to "How does one get to Carnegie Hall?" The one in New York was built in 1891, 4 years before this gem in Pittsburgh. Locals pronounce "Carnegie" differently, just so yinz knows. With marvelous acoustics, the theater holds 1,928 with 22 accessible seats.Home to the Chamber Music Pittsburgh series, which hosts string quartets and other chamber groups. The Carnegie Mellon University Philharmonic performs here as well. The foyer is absolutely exquisite, with 50 foot ceilings, marble columns and Baroque decor. An ornate balcony overlooks this elegant room, which is often booked for wedding receptions and gala fundraisers. There are 3 tiers of seats. Experts rave about the acoustics upstairs, so don't be afraid to sit up top."
"We had our 50th class reunion here and it really went well, the venue was the perfect size for our gathering of 138. The sit down dinner was very good & the wait staff did a phenominal job, I would highly recommend this country club if you have a large gathering"
"This was a beautiful venue for a wedding and reception. My family had a wonderful celebration for my grandniece and her new husband. The ceremony was lovely, and the food and entertainment provided made for a lovely fall evening."
"The Mayernik Center made our wedding day fairytale come to life.... and it was all thanks to our coordinator Jennifer! We originally had another wedding venue booked, but when we visited the Mayernik we knew we had to make the switch. We chose a Friday afternoon because we able to save a little bit of money, but also book other locations on the property to make it a full day experience for our guests. The Mayernik has some suggested vendors, but the only requirement is from choosing from one of their 3 food vendors. We tried each over time and settled on Remo's...who created an amazing meal for us. It was high quality and reasonably priced. Our wedding ceremony was at 1230, followed by a brunch reception. For the ceremony we opted for the extra cost of chairs to be set out and I'm glad we did. It was a beautiful day and I would have been uncomfortable forcing everyone to stand during our ceremony. After the reception, we invited a few guests to an after party at The Cabin, one of the smaller locations on the property. Leading up to and throughout the day, Jennifer was attentive and made sure all our details came through without us worrying. She even helped organize and pack things up at the end of the night. I was never worried during the experience and knew she had it handled. If I had to do it again, I'd pick the Mayernik as our choice venue. What a great day to remember!"
"With the shadyside arts festival they should have been better staffed or maybe we hit it wrong. Not overly crowded but service was way too slow and 45 minutes plus wait for two apps of sliders and another that never arrived until we asked it to be taken off the bill because we had to go. Took 15 minutes to get two beers. Not good. Good part. Sliders were good. Sorry for the not so great review. Yes we would go back but did affect our browsing festival time being there an hour and a half."
"Very good food and a nice atmosphere at the base of the Laurel Summit. I wish they still had the appetizer bar...always liked it. Nice place for a quiet and relaxing dinner."
"Great food, atmosphere, and service. An overall excellent experience. The portions were just right, not the oversized meals you typically receive at Italian restaurants. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and options for substitute items if wanted. Food came out promptly and the temperature was perfect. We will definitely keep The Allegro on our list of best places to dine in Altoona."
"Absolutely amazing experience! Yinzer Valley Farms is open for event rental & hosts the coolest brunch on Sunday from 11:30-3:30! Fresh squeezed mimosas, a bloody bar with every add on you could imagine (bacon, shrimp, hotdogs, soft pretzels!!!) and live music!!!!!"
"I had my wedding here a while back and it was amazing! Julians took care of us every step of the way. They worked with my vision of what I wanted and with my budget. We loved everything about Julians from the food (super yummy), the staff (extremely nice and courteous), the venue (clean and conveniently located), and the price. I would definitely recomend this place for an wedding, birthday parry, graduation, family reunion, or any other special event.Thank u Julians for making our day so special!!!"
"Best views of Pittsburgh & I get to ride a tram to it? Yes, please! Altius in Pittsburg is a must visit restaurant but get a reservation. It offers some of the best views of the city. While enjoying dinner, the city works below you. It's a stunning backdrop for dinner. I had a wonderful evening, enhanced by the super attentive staff who made sure every detail was perfect. I decided to play chef and customized their burrata salad by adding shrimp and a scallop. What a total power play. Loved it!"
"I've played CHGC around 8-10 times now, spring, fall and summer, and it's ALWAYS in tremendous shape. The Highlights:-----------------The carts have GPSThe tee boxes are trim and levelThe greens roll like you'd expectThe fairways are always cut shortThe staff is always friendlyNice rangeNice putting greensMy only knock is that the layout isn't anything special like Boulder Creek, Stonewall, Firestone Farms or The Quarry. However, the conditions make up for the lack of hole-to-hole creativity. Best public course I've played in PA so far. Looking forward to playing it a few more times this year before the season ends."
"Nature meets elegance at this remote woodland lodge. The kind of event venue that you can dress up with pearls and diamonds or dress down with jeans and cowboy boots. This picturesque multi level stone and log lodge served as a perfect wedding venue; outdoor ceremony by the pine tree lined lillypad lake, covered porch for 3 season bar and buffet, large dining room and dance floor combo. Adjacent grounds were filled with tables and chairs for mingling and schmoozing. Overall, this was a lovely and memorable venue. Once we actually found it, navigation was not our friend, we enjoyed hours of celebration and joy."
"Absolutely gorgeous setting for a wedding. Set out in the countryside, there are tons of opportunitues for pictures. There are hills with gorgeous trees, old barns. The pictures we took look like they're straight out of a magazine! Had such a great time. The proprieters are so friendly/welcoming. Loved the venue!"
"I stopped in a couple weeks back for some beers with my girlfriend after before heading out for dinner. This is one of my favorite breweries in the city.It has amazingly chill vibes. I love the whole layout of it and the servers are always very friendly and helpfulI'll be back again and again.Sláinte!"
"The Toll Gate is an institution. An aging one, but it's so pure Johnstown that it's worth a go. Selfish reason, it was my late Pap Pap's favorite bar. The beer is cheap, I can't speak to the food as I haven't eaten there in years, but the waitresses were always kind to my Pap Pap (and all the regulars). I came in Oct after we gave them a tile with my Pap Pap's pic on it in July from his funeral service and the fact that it was still out for me to see, alone, makes me want to come back over and over. Thank you, staff, for that small honor to a man I loved to so much."
