"Smiling Banana Leaf is a solid gem in the Highland Park area and easily in my top five local Thai spots! I've ordered from here multiple times, both for pickup and delivery via UberEats, and it consistently delivers on flavor and quality. While I live about 30 minutes away, I don't mind the wait--though delivery typically takes about an hour. That said, the food always arrives warm and well-packed, which I appreciate. My usual go-to dishes are the Pad Thai with chicken (zero spice level) and the Mango Tilapia dish served on a bed of mango and veggie slices. Both are delicious and hit the spot every time. The Pad Thai has a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors, while the tilapia dish is a standout with its crispy texture and fresh, tangy mango complement."
"I recently moved to Pittsburgh and heard of Nicky's Thai Kitchen frequently. On my day off, I decided to try the downtown location on Penn Ave. first of all, the restaurant is cute and at a great location. And the service was great! The server was sweet and attentive. But unfortunately, I was disappointed by the food! I had high expectations due to the accolades on their website. But the food fell short and didn't meet my expectations. I ordered the Pad See Ew and it was primarily flavored with chili oil only. It lacked soy and oyster sauce. The friend spring rolls were a disappointment too. It was mostly the egg roll wrapper and lacked filling and flavor. This place didn't meet the hype by any means. At least I tried it once. But the at was enough for me!"

"I really had a good meal here. BYOB and intimate. Cool spot. Service was great as well."
"Thai Cuisine is one of the friendliest Thai restaurants I have ever been to. We ate here on a Wednesday right at 4 pm as they were opening for business. Seated quickly and given waters and menus.I was bummed to see they did not offer fresh summer rolls, since that is my go-to starter. I decided to order soup instead. I got Tom Yum Veggie, spice level 8. Served quickly I liked it. I felt it lacked some depth of flavor but wasn't bad for a starter to warm me up. The spice level wasn't too much but mixed with the heat of the broth it felt hotter than it was.For my meal I ordered Spicy Noodles (Drunken noodles) tofu spice 8. I didn't want to go too high since this was my first time. The noodle dish was pleasant. I really enjoyed the many veggies in the dish where a lot of other places lack adding them. The flavor of the noodles was a little bland and the spice level was milder to me. I added Thai Chili paste to spice it up some.To circle back to the friendly atmosphere our server was outstanding. Incredibly gregarious and genuinely accommodating. The atmosphere was pleasant and the clean. Not a bad stop at all, food was fairly average but extra plus for the server."
"Came in on a hoppin Saturday night 10 days before Christmas and the place was packed! If you come on the weekend reservations are probably a good idea. Parking will be hit/miss, you might get somewhere close. You might park 4 blocks away like I had to. The inside has a nice vibe as it's situated in an older building with lots of brick. The place is loud if it's busy so be prepared for that. The food is all really good, from the pho to the rangoons and egg rolls to all the sushi. My only chief complaint and I'm offering grace here because I know it was busy, is that it took a solid 25-30 minutes to get the appetizers after we got our drinks. Otherwise the service was good as well as the food. Check it out!"
"This is my personal favorite Thai restaurant in the Pittsburgh area. There are some top competitors, but this one is always solid. I've eaten here with friends and family many times. Everyone loves this place, it has a very friendly and hospitable feeling. BYOB is a plus, but as a wine drinker, I've never brought in a bottle (This might change next week ;) The food just speaks for itself in a great way. I'm always so happy with the smells and the taste, I feel that alcohol just gets in the way.Tom Yum soup is always a litmus test for me and they own it. I've only had better at Nikki's Thai Kitchen downtown but that is a different atmosphere and experience. The fried tofu and seitan have always been top notch. The menu has been refined over the years, but I think that's a good thing because the quality is what counts, not the number of options. All my love to the second generation of the family keeping this going. This is a Pittsburgh staple restaurant in the Bloomfield area! xoxo"
"Delicious Laotian and Thai food. The service was prompt and professional. This was my first experience with Laotian food and I was quite pleased. The dining room is attractive, with a high window overlooking Forbes Ave.I love learning about new cuisines, and this restaurant is a great place to experience that."
"Fun place to go in Pittsburgh's Southside. We had a great server who helped us with our food selections. Food was delicious!! We had the Sweet Purple Potatoes Fries as an appetizer, delicious!! Definitely a 5/5 on the fries chart. Our entrees were the Z-U Noodles and Noodle on Fire, delicious. Great atmosphere. Went back for a second visit did not disappoint, tried pumpkin curry this time - excellent!!"
"Loved this Thai restaurant and can't believe it took us this long to try it. We came in right when it opened and there were already folks waiting to get in. We got Boat Noodles, Panang curry, Chicken fried rice and Mango sticky rice for dessert. Our main dishes were cooked with spice level 3, except the my boat noodles was a 4. The spice was just right for us and anything more would make the dish very difficult to enjoy. We have been to Thailand several times and this place transported us back to Bangkok! The dishes were pretty large and the price point was right on. This will be our top Thai restaurant in this part of town."
"Amazing! Get the Black and Gold fried rice. So good and not something I've seen anywhere else. Very friendly staff. We were in Pittsburgh for two nights and ate there both nights."
"Second visit for sushi, this time we enjoyed the (16 pcs) oceanside sushi combo for my first time dine in experience, as I greatly enjoyed the chicken and shrimp Pad Thai...what a treat to be served a sizzling hot meal with the perfectly recommended level of spice/heat. I highly recommend this Burmese, pan-Asian restaurant that includes sushi, Thai and Chinese food, combined with excellent service for an enjoyable dinning experience."
"We went here to get out of the heat! We were seated right away and immediately got water. The food and the service were both good. I ordered the fried calamari and it was awful - limp and chewy. We also tried the Pad Thai with beef and that was very good. The restaurant was very nice, and a great break from the summer sun."

Great little place. Nice atmosphere and decor. Waitress was really nice and did not rush us. We had a nice dinner and were able to take our time and enjoy the food. We share the Moo Yang (very tasty) and Dumplings (OK, not as tasty and falling apart) to start. Everyone had different meals and everyone was really enjoyed their meal. The Duck curry had a nice rich flavor.Love it is BYOB!

Really nice place. Very cosy with a nice atmosphere and good service. Menu options were good and reasonably priced with generous portions. I have had duck at other asian restaurants and it sometimes comes out rather tough and chewy. But I had the duck birds nest here and it was alot more smooth and tender. I would highly recommend comming here.

Delicious. Consistently. Fresh ingredients, great sauces. You'll need a reservation on busy nights like Friday and Saturday. Great sushi, great pho, my favorite curry is the avocado curry. Walnut chicken is wonderful. The strawberry mojito mocktail is so tasty. Nice atmosphere, great for date nights or just meeting friends. Or carry out alone :)

Visiting Pittsburgh to see our son n he suggested kiin lao n thai eatery as it had good reviews. We also have not tasted Laotian food so thought we'd try the restaurant. And we were v excited. It's in squirrel hill area of Pittsburgh on a busy Forbes ave. As in any city parking is a lil hard but we found street parking. The restaurant is above a shoe shop - little shoes. Has an entrance/ stairs next to the shop. Rustic n clean restaurant w friendly welcoming staff. We tried the spring rolls n sautéed jackfruit. They both tasted good. The sautéed jackfruit w rice cakes n cucumber looked like shredded pork chicken. V tasty n flavorful n if someone just gave it to me n told me to try it I wouldn't have thought it was jackfruit. When the waitress brought the whole fish w mango salad was a lil disappointed n thought I'd made the wrong choice. Was whole fried branzino w strips of mango n onion n a yellow watery sauce. But it was delicious from the first bite/ taste. Not a morsel left. The lemongrass noodles w shrimp was v tasty too. Also got the Khao soi w sai oua. Thin noodles w a nice spicy broth n Laotian sausage. For a very cold day it was so good.Thank you Kiin Lao n Thau for a great lunch. Will sure come back again.

Great service, there servers were great and friendly.... The inside was nicely decorated and comfortable. I thought the wall art and decorative pieces were great and it had a nice rustic look with plenty of great greenery. But I had to bump it down to 3 stars (probably more like a 3.7), because I was disappointed in the food. The Phon that my partner got was a "not impressive". The pork was a too unflavorful. The BBQ pork belly over egg noodles was good but nothing I'd look forward to getting again. That being said they are worth another chance, but my initial take on them left a little to be desired.

"Always a fan of Nicky's. Great food and friendly service. The music is a bit loud, but it's tolerable."
"I gave this spot a try for lunch today. I was not disappointed! The staff is friendly and professional. A parking lot is conveniently located right across from the entrance to the restaurant. The restaurant is clean and there is good spacing between tables and booths.I ordered the Thai dumplings as my app with the Thai Foon Special fried rice (no heat), I don't do spicy food very well. And a Thai Iced tea with tapioca balls.Everything was delicious! This is going to be my go to dish, all of the protein add ins were cooked perfectly.Cash/Credit/Debit are accepted here."
"It's an unassuming gem. Located in a strip mall, this is some of the best sushi around. The dinosaur egg app is the best!! I get it every single time I go. Everything is tasty and they have a large selection."
"A wonderful restaurant. Beautifully decorated inside, very classy.Several altars are inside plus giant wood carvings that are stunning. My friend Anne brought me here for lunch. She's gluten-free, so we each got something with no wheat noodles. I got chicken and rice with pineapple sauce and vegetables, which I believe was like the Vietnamese Bun dishes. My friend ordered a dish with lots of vegetables with rice in a lemon grass and coconut milk dressing. I got the jasmine iced tea, which was lovely. And we were each provided with a cup of soup, which was also coconut and lemon grass with mushrooms. Our server was very nice and quiet. We had so much fun having lunch together. I highly recommend this restaurant."
"Got seated so quick by friendly staff. The food came out amazing and I also tried tofu that my friend had as well. I am usually not a tofu person, but it was delicious! Definitely will be back to try more of their menu items."
"I really enjoyed this busy restaurant in the heart of State College. Walked in and seated quickly. The tables were buzzing with patrons. The Lemongrass soup, as it is called, but is Tum Yum soup and is a full of flavor treat. Spicy, savory and filled with chicken and mushrooms. I love spicy and this has a bite! The chicken satay appetizer is 5 skewers either a side of peanut dipping sauce. The Beef Salad is really a Larb Gai. Spicy! With lime tang and a ton of fresh veggies! Did I mention spicy?! The pad Thai and all entrees are huge!"
"This is a really little cute Thai spot in Bellevue! Super cozy inside and would be great for takeout too! We dined in.We got potstickers and the crab Rangoon to start! Their rangoon are unique and have a curry flavor, these were super flavorful and yummy! I was skeptical but they were delicious!Potstickers were solid but nothing super special! I got my usual pad see ew, and I got it with shrimp! The shrimp was cooked perfectly! I would definitely return to this spot, they have a huge menu and staff was very friendly!"
"I come to Thai Cottage frequently and love it as a neighborhood option. The kee mao is my go-to, but the pad thai does the trick as well. Decent portion size and tasty food as always. Many different protein options and options for veg too."
"Some of the very best Thai food I've had anywhere. Amazing! Perfectly spiced, perfectly cooked. Beautiful presentation. Very nice ambiance, especially considering that it's a tiny shop in a little strip mall. Good service by an actual Thai person.I'll go out of my way to return now that I've found this wonderful jewel!"
"We had a great first experience at this small Thai restaurant, which is primarily a takeout spot. However, they do have four small tables for two. Service is very friendly and efficient. they have a large menu, and everything sounded good, but we settled on Tom Yum soup with chicken, my husband got spicy eggplant with chicken, and I got a green curry with shrimp, and we split the crispy tofu appetizer. My husband enjoyed the soup except the chicken that was in the soup was slightly overcooked. The eggplant with chicken was delicious and it was a huge portion. The dishes come with a side bowl of white rice. My curry with shrimp was quite flavorful and had a lot of different vegetables in it, including some eggplant in there as well. I love Japanese eggplant. We both really enjoyed the crispy tofu and it comes with kind of a sweet Thai chili sauce with peanuts on top, which was quite tasty for dipping. I ended up taking half of my Curry home and it filled the entire takeout container. They did tons of takeout business while we were seated eating inside. I would recommend that if you were planning to eat there and had more than two people that you call ahead and make sure that they can accommodate you given how small the places and the limited tables. we found easy street parking right out front. we chose this restaurant due to proximity to Moondog's just down the block where we were going to hear music. I would definitely eat there again."
"Best Thai in the city. I've tried a lot of Thai places in Pittsburgh, but this one beats them all. Any noodle dish I've had was outstanding, and the dumplings are always the best. Takeout and eating in are both great options."
"This location in the south side opened just a couple of weeks ago so of course my trusty sidekick and I had to try it out and wow what a flavor explosion! The fish and all the other ingredients were so fresh and delish and the person helping us was very patient and gave us great recommendations! I really didn't think I'd like mango in our classic burrito or in the Pittsburgh poke bowl but just do it - it was a nice balance to the heat we had in both dishes. Lots of space to eat and location and as nice and clean - want to come back for sure and try more !"
"I have been here three times now over the span of four years. I can't recall my previous experiences being too great, so I am only considering this last visit. Though this restaurant is a Thai restaurant they serve a variety of Asian dishes other than Thai. The parking isn't terrible but it's not too convenient. The restaurant is located in a residential neighborhood, so on certain streets you have to have a permit. We were able to find parking after a second spin around the block. We were seated quickly. It was a little early for the dinner crowd and late for the lunch crowd, so with just a handful of people in the place it was quite spacious. I ordered a tofu summer roll and Pad Kee Mao with tofu and requested a level 8 spice. I also requested Thai chili paste with my summer roll and got red pepper flakes instead. They did the job but not what I wanted. The Pad Kee Mao was served with carrots and sugar snap peas, along with green pepper and cabbage. Not exactly typical. The noodles were nice which I think was an improvement from my first visit, but my eight-spice level was bland. Good thing I held onto the red pepper flakes. I generously seasoned my food with them, which is quite disappointing considering I ordered an 8. Otherwise the dish was fine. Nothing to be overexcited about or upset over. Average. Upon receiving my bill, I understood why my dish was so mild. They marked it incorrectly at the time of order at a 0-3 mild spice. It was well too late to make a fuss, so I paid and left. Average experience but if you want Thai in Greensburg, I think this may be one of your only options."
"Delicious! I am usually very fond of Nicky's Thai Kitchen, but I moved into the area recently I was looking for a Closer Thai food option. This place does not disappoint. Everything was flavorful and fresh ! Service was on point as well!"
"As a traveler I depend on accurate reviews to make my selections of food choices. I do like to try a variety of foods, and sometimes, out of the way places. Thai, is one of my favorite foods and I was not disappointed by the Curry Duck. It came out perfect temperature and the flavor was amazing. The service was awesome. I never had to wait for someone to check on me, and they were very cordial and always smiling; that's a huge plus for me. The ambiance was that if most Thai places but still was very colorful and clean. I would definitely venture here again."
"As always great food, I recommend their duck dish- they are very soft not rubbery taste as ducks usually do. Staffs are very kind and if the weather is nice, you can ask to sit outside. You can bring your own drinks as well!"
"A friend suggested this restaurant for a group gathering. I'm allergic to seafood so I was immediately nervous about it. Fortunately for me and for my EpiPen, the server and kitchen were very easy to work with in helping me find items I could eat. We were greeted and seated immediately. The server was prompt and attentive. I'd actually give it 5 stars except for two things: 1. They didn't split the bill for 7 of us and that rule wasn't stated anywhere. 2. They close for an hour between their lunch and dinner but they didn't tell us upon sitting or at any point during our meal. Instead, they turned off the music and stared at us until one of us thought to check online about the hours. I likely won't return because I'm still nervous about cross contamination in a place like this seafood-heavy restaurant but it was a pretty good experience."
"My husband and I hardly ever have dinner on High St. But now that we've found Chaang Thai restaurant, we will definitely be back! The owner Raj was so gracious and friendly, he even helped us place our order guiding us on the many options on the menu. The food was excellent! I had pad Thai as did my husband but he had the spicy version. The dumplings were tender and tasty and I gobbled up all of them! Our friends enjoyed their meals as well. The atmosphere is nice and fairly quiet, considering it's High Street which is pretty noisy on a Saturday night. Raj told us how he and his wife have owned and operated this place for the last 14 years and that his wife is a trained Thai chef. My husband and I both felt good about supporting a local business and the support was well deserved! If you're looking for some really great Thai food, this is the place. Ask for Raj and tell him Vince and Barbara sent you! You'll be glad you went. We'll be back!"
"Went there for lunch. Took my friend there (she has never tried Thai food before) and enjoyed her first pad Thai. I ordered Thai basil with chicken and it was excellent. Unfortunately,They did not have their lunch menu available so we needed up with dinner portions which were huge- good for 3 meals for me."
"Since moving to Pittsburgh, we've been on a mission to find our new favorite Chinese restaurant. Sesame Inn was our 3rd try and they nailed it! We got pork fried dumplings, pork eggrolls, general tso's chicken, orange chicken, and pork fried rice. Everything delicious, the chicken was tender and not dry, and they have the brown fried rice instead of the usual yellow stuff. I've been searching for a place that did not have the boring yellow rice and I'm so glad we found it! It is pricy, but it may be worth it because otherwise it ticks all the boxes. Can't wait to try more from here. We ordered take out. The staff was kind and we didn't have to wait too long for the food. The restaurant was clean and peaceful. We'll have to sit down to eat sometime. Portions were very big as well, which makes the price a bit better."
"Great little hole in the wall restaurant in the heart of My Lebanon. Tasty Thai food and friendly owners. Best for take out as the place is very small with limited seating."
"It was very authentic thai food in canton. Good curry and honestly pretty good service. It was hot there when we went but food and vibes were good. Everyone was happy with their meal. If you're craving something yummy I would go again"
"Great Chinese, great service and great times nothing i can say bad about this place they are fast and courteous"
