"4.4 average (yes, precise!). La Palapa restaurant serves authentic Mexican cuisine and also has a full-service bar. Menu items include soups, salads, appetizers (e.g., nachos and jalapeños rellenos), dozens of entrees (e.g., flautas, tacos, quesadillas, burritos, enchiladas, chicken, pork ribs, lamb, tilapia, and several vegetarian dishes), several sides, and several desserts. The menu is available for dining in, takeout, delivery, and catering.I ordered lunch from La Palapa for delivery. Here are my and my husband's ratings for the foods:Empanada - 4.5 stars - This empanada was available in several flavors, and I selected the shrimp. The empanada was large, had a crispy dough, and contained juicy and flavorful shrimp. On the side was salsa.Fajitas nayarit with side of plantains - 4.5 stars - A few proteins were available, and I chose steak. The steak tasted good. The chef included a very large amount of fresh peppers as well as rice, beans, and some pineapple.Tamales - 4 stars - A corn-based tamale was filled with my choice of filling, which was vegetables, and was wrapped in a corn husk. On the side was salsa.Tacos - 4 stars - Several possible fillings were available, and I chose the rajas con papas (poblano peppers and potatoes). I felt thankful that the soft taco shells did not get very soggy during transport. I might have given these tacos a higher rating if I had ordered a different filling.Carne asada - 5 stars - The flank steak was *very flavorful*. My husband felt surprised to see squash, cheese, and cactus. On the side was perfectly cooked rice."
"Our waitress Kayla was amazing. Had reservations on Valentines Day however they only had 2 waitresses taking care of a packed room of tables. Management needs to plan better on a holiday with a special menu. Despite this Kayla was pleasant and attentive. Gave 4 stars because this is the 3rd visit in a row that they were out of French dressing."
"Stop by for a quick lunch on a Saturday, unfortunately, there was no buffet, but we ordered off the menu. The food was flavorful, Naan was fresh and hot! Very much enjoyed this lunch :)"
"Authentic Vietnamese cuisine, with a little bit of new creativity which adds surprise to the delicious food. Will definitely come again."
"In the area for business and a local suggested this place for the best ever wings and burgers. We sat outside and the service was fair, I tried to order a glass of bubbles but the server didn't know if they offered that outside of a specific cocktail, she was happy to bring me water instead of finding out. We both ordered pretty healthy entrees and we ate every bite, my chicken was under seasoned but it was still cooked perfectly. My husband's grilled pork chop was also cooked perfectly, served with carrots and potatoes. The patio was super nice and spacious with comfortable seating, we enjoyed ourselves overall."
"Don't be fooled by the humble looking stair case before the entrance. Everything about this place was fantastic. The sushi had amazing taste and each bite was full of fish. The salmon and yellowtail quality was very high. I even think they make their own spiced soy sauce. I sat at the sushi bar to wait for my take out and wished I could sit and stay longer! The staff were so kind and friendly. Will definetely be back to try more items. Another customer had tempura and it smelled amazing. The vibe is very relaxed but also clean and polished."
"The Greatest little Gems! I will admit! Not a deli sandwich type of guy! BUT, this really makes you reexamine the Stance - incredibly fresh! Filling! Great service! Extremely neat and clean! You gotta try this place! The Triple Decker did the Job!"
"It's a good place with authentic food and genuinely nice ownership. I've been here three times and I've had almost every dumpling they offer. You will not be disappointed. The dumplings are like works of art. Sometimes it's not very packed, other times every table is full. They've been in the restaurant business for a long time!I like the Red Shiso soda. I also love the Wide Noodles with Egg and Tomato, it is so fun to share with a friend. The dumplings are amazing and the ladies who run the place are great people. One note is that the Lamb Mince Soup is not as beautiful or as good as the picture. It's a pretty good value and definitely filling. Good for special occasions. They use Szechuan peppercorns, so good. You will get MSG here probably, just so you know."
"I'm not an expert on Vietnamese cuisine, but this place is a gem where you'd least expect it. It's a casual atmosphere with takeout or dine-in.The Baguette Sandwich is basically Bahn Mi - great flavor! My favorite entree is the Stir Fried Rice with Beef. The name sounds bland but the taste is anything but - it has some serious umami."
"Fusion has won best Japanese over the past couple years and I can see why. I had the miso soup, gyoza (pork dumpling) the volcano roll and the eel roll. Everything was delicious. The fish tasted fresh and the flavors were good. I like that you can choose to either have the louder, more entertaining hibachi experience or the quieter more private dining. There were 2 people who had birthdays in our seating area. Their servers brought out dessert for them, sang and rang a gong. Our server was speedy, pleasant and attentive. Fusion had a wide variety of entrees and sushi. I think this would be a great date night spot. You could come here week after week and still be trying new and interesting things on the menu. I would 10/10 recommend and I will 100% return."
"I've been looking for the most authentic Vietnamese food and so far, this is my clear winner. I can't wait to have their pho. So far I've had their bah mi, which was delicious and not dry, and their grilled chicken bun (vermicelli noodle bowl) which was MASSIVE and so fresh. I had a few questions about what the blood tofu was on the menu and if the bun bowl was a vermicelli bowl. I can't tell you the answers, honestly. Waters were refilled promptly. The ambiance is meh. Parking can get a bit crowded all over the street but we parked in a residential area and it was free to do so."

I absolutely love La Palapa! It is quickly becoming one of my staple Southside restaurant spots. The location is great; locate on E Carson in the middle of Southside. The service is always great and the staff are so friendly and attentive. The food is absolutely amazing. The portions are ginormous!! I get the chicken nachos for my meal every time and they are loaded with cheese and chicken. They have my favorite nachos in the city. Their margaritas are very good too. I think their prices are super reasonable as well. The vibe is very cute inside and they have a nice outdoor, covered patio!

Nice place in Weirton, West Virginia only thirty minutes from Pittsburgh. The interior is nice and has a Margaritaville vibe with neon Andy tropical themes. Four of us ordered their specialty- ribs. The ribs came out fairly quickly and were super tender. My friend picked up his first bone and the meat just slid right off. Delicious. One can ask for a bolder sauce for the ribs, but the house sauce was just fine. Sides included cole slaw, loaded potato skins and apple sauce. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We shared deserts: peanut butter pie and pumpkin cheesecake. Very good. Our server was fantastic. She answered every question quickly and hustled. Great service.

Came here during lunch but didn't partake in the lunch buffet. The buffet seemed like a bang for your buck but the food options didn't interest me. I ordered my usual paneer tikka Marsala spicy. The spice was mouth bearable but within an hour it was definitely stomach spicy. The meal was delicious, portion slightly small for the price, and the service was always quick on getting things out.

Noel and I went to another Vietnamese restaurant but it was closed so I was able to locate this restaurant via Yelp App.It was only about 5 miles from where we were but unfortunately back to near where we started. Located near the hospital complex. The parking lot was empty so we thought this one was closed too...but thank goodness they were open.We went inside where they had examples of the bowl sizes on display along with menus. The instructions said to find a table that was available and turn our display to show taken. To figure out what we wanted, then go to kiosk place order and pay. They will bring our food out. Everything was pretty self explanatory. Is this the way it's done overseas? Noel and I both chose Beef Pho, shared some spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce and I got a unsweetened bottled tea and Noel went with a Strawberry Bubble Tea with a milk based flavoring. It was a jelly textured bubble in her drink, too sweet for me.We went to salad bar and got our Cilantro, Thai basil, spices, bean sprouts and jalapenos. This was to put in our medium bowls of Pho. The food was very good. I'm still trying to learn how to use chopsticks. The fried garlic spice was good. The Pho was amazing and we had plenty to take home as leftovers but the spring rolls were horrible. The wrappers were like a rubbery covering, very thick and rubbery. I couldn't handle the texture of it. So, I broke it open and put into my Pho bowl. The food was good enough to go back again. I definitely want to try the Banh Mi sandwich, especially the grilled on!!! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for some great Pho. Prices were sort of high but I don't get this very often , so very worth it. Just not crazy about those Spring Rolls...

Celebrated our daughter's college graduation here. We were a party of 10 and the place was packed as you'd expect for Penn State grad weekend. For as busy as it was, the service was so good and we had a great time. It was a little more limited menu for grad weekend, but there was plenty for everyone to select from. Everyone in the party said their food and drinks were great. We were seated upstairs and the poor wait staff was running food up and down the stairs. Highly recommend...if we are ever back in the area, we would definitely come back during a quieter weekend!

Sushi Kim was one of my favorite spots for sushi in the city and I was so devastated when they closed down because of Covid. I'm really glad that they reopened and that they have demonstrated the same quality and service in their new location. I always look forward to coming here

Food was okay. Got an egg salad sandwich and a cabbage roll and it was over $15, which is a little steep for the quality. The cabbage roll sauce was quite sweet and thick and a little bland. Egg salad was good, bread was delicious and soft, the lettuce on my sandwich was unwashed as I discovered after a few bites of it tasting "dirty" I discovered some dried dirt. Pickle was soggy and not crunchy at all. The woman working the counter was very nice! Service was a little slow but to be expected during lunch hours. I would give it another shot, but not running to go back.

Amazing Dumplings is right!Ordered delivery via DD and the food was great! Ordered the hot chili oil dumplings and the hot chili oil noodles with chicken added. If you like/love spice you'll enjoy these dishes.Food was hot upon arrival and the ingredients were incredibly fresh. Will definitely visit or order more dishes to try more things on the menu. To note, the service was great - although I ordered via a delivery app. I asked for different dumplings in place of the ones that come with the hot chili oil dish. Someone from the restaurant called me to advise the chef would not allow the replacement. I appreciated this in lieu of just receiving what I didn't ask for. Loved that they called to confirm prior to preparing the food. The dumplings were so good and I understand why they do not allow the replacements- they were perfect as is.

"Anytime I've eaten here it's been wonderful. I recently ordered delivery from here and my food was still fresh and delicious! The employee and very friendly and the restaurant itself is clean and welcoming. If you're ever craving something quick and healthy, this is your place!"
"Words cannot describe how good my meal was from this place. Never in my life have I tried a shawarma, but I promise you, I will be back after tasting a bite of this. I got the spicy beef and lamb shawarma with a side of fries. Fries were decent. Shawarma was a 10/10. Basically a burrito filled with gyro-like meat, veggies, and a creamy garlic white sauce. It was so good that I wish I had ordered two of them. Not going to lie, I'll probably be back tomorrow just to get it again. Give this place a try. A+..... glad to have this little kebab joint in the neighborhood."
"Fast friendly service! I had never been there and they explained what they have and whats popular. I got the loaded dogs and they were really great! The meatsauce wasnt greasy at all I loved it. We will be back."
"Traveling through Ohio on interstate 80 and got off the interstate for some dinner. Saw this place had 4 1/2 stars on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I'm a creature of habit and will often order a bleu cheese & bacon cheeseburger when they are on the menu. I have eaten them from coast to coast and this might possibly be the best one I've ever eaten! The sweet potato fries which were a one dollar up charge were incredible as well with a maple and butter dipping sauce. Did I mention that I had this paired with a great craft beer. My wife had the seasonal Summer Strawberry Salad which she said was really good. This will be a regular stop when traveling through this part of the country."
"Great Chinese restaurant in Washington, Pa. Located in Park Place, across from Race Track Road. Today, I got the Spicy Orange Beef, fried rice, and takeout boneless spare ribs. Everything was excellent! Orange Beef was tender, lots of Orange flavor, a nice spicy kick! Fried Veggie Rice was really good, better than most I've had. Very flavorful, lots of veggies. Boneless Spare Ribs were awesome! Tender, juicy, lots of flavor in the sauce. Great Chinese food, two thumbs up!!"
"Serviceable takeout Chinese. I guess it used to be a sit-down restaurant pre-Covid, but it's only takeout and delivery now. The food is good and hits the spot. It's not anything special, but it's inexpensive and they deliver. I'm definitely a fan."
"So yea ... this place is great .. good .. cheap...fresh and tender of everything I've ever had ...I'm no Chinese food Aficionado... So from that stand point this place won't disappoint I'm sure ..."
"The new ownership here has replaced Northeastern Kitchen and everything so far is really exceptional. James speaks very good English and the communication/translation between the owner and the customer works well. They are open late enough for me to swing by after work to grab some real authentic Chinese. The liver/kidney and intestines is amazing and perfect spice, the beef stomach mala is amazing, and most of all I like the different steamed fish choices they offer. This is really unheard anywhere else in PGH. I am a fan again! Having the original cook from Northeastern still there makes the deal work! Happy New Year!!"
"Wow. From bagels to drinks, the coffee and paninis are awesome. Great Wi-Fi spot, eat in spot, let's just call it my spot on my off days. From owning my own restaurant and visiting often to Ryan's Artisan Goods, I'm welcome and appreciated. The team has innovated with different drinks and coffees. Their Pizza are clutch for a light flare with a ton of flavor. As for the sandwiches and soups, they are scratch made and you can taste the balance of flavors and aroma. The game changer for the local area, I see why they hold the title belt, lol!"
"My sister and I accidentally stumbled across this restaurant today while looking for a place to eat lunch on a short road trip.We ended up with the pot roast sandwiches, and our absolutely wonderful waitress Karen, suggested we put a little thousand island dressing on them.I am so glad we decided on this because it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Tender and tasty roast beef with grilled onions and mushrooms between light toasted sourdough. All the menu items looked good, prices were fair, and the place was clean, not to mention excellent service.I just found out there is another location not very far from us, and rest assured we will be going there often!"
"Another delicious meal at La Roccas. Wonderful food and friendly service. It's a great night out every time."
"I ordered here today for lunch through DoorDash and thought my lunch was really good. I ordered a steak salad with ranch dressing. Although I don't think the tomatoes were washed throughly, it was really well put together and the ingredients were fresh, they use fresh cut lettuce and not bagged. The steak was well prepared and cooked to a perfect medium. I would order here again for lunch."
"Great place to have a good meal. Had fried chicken which was scrumptious accompanied by a baked potato with side salad. Hit the spot. Chicken had great breading and plenty of meat..watching the steeler game was an added bonus . I'll be back..."
"I always make a point to hit this sub shop when I am in the Sharon area. I think the bread is what makes the sandwich. Everytime I come I can count on a delicious ham and cheese."
"Personally some of the best Chinese food I've had in Pittsburgh. I ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken with Fried Rice. Cooked perfectly, nothing was grease or saturated in cooking oils. Full of flavor. Chicken Lo Mein was also very tasty and full of flavor. The vegetables looked fresh and not frozen. I would definitely order again. Also from time of order to DoorDash delivery was about 20 minutes max."
"Authentic and delicious Indian cuisine. Veggie samosa excellent as is the veggie dishes. Saga and Chana masala. Does not disappoint."
"Steam table hot pot - you choose your noodles, your ingredients and your soup base and they prepare it for you.Fresh ingredients are fairly limited - cabbage, book choy, lettuce and broccoli. Most of the ingredients are frozen processed foods. I, fortunately, love fish and tofu products smashed together together in all their glorious cake and patty forms. It is worth noting that the crazy hot soup base is primarily flavored with Szechuan peppercorn. An overall solid addition to Squirrel Hill, but not a shining star."
"You will not find a better Sicilian pie anywhere ! I've been eating Mamma Lucias Pizza for 41 years and the recipe hasn't changed a bit . Ingredients still sourced from the same suppliers , suppliers still buying from the same producers , producers still making the cheese from the same cows , the same cow family still grazing the same farmland , etc for the past four decades ! Had my first Mamma slice in the OG location in the original Northway Mall ."
