"An absolutely no-frills, delicious, excessively portioned breakfast joint that is the mainstay of the Pittsburgh breakfast scene. I cannot say enough our the food. Greasy, comforty deliciousness.Bring your appetite. Weekends can be busy and there is usually a line. Totally worth the wait."
"The last visit to Fatheads was in 2003. A stumbling lad who stumbled into this eatery with a silly notion to be quenched. Is it true them damn samwiches is as fat as my head. To my utter joy the cholesterol raced through my veins lubricating all sorts of divine enchantments to the wonders that be still a beating heart. I was alive then and daggonit that Fat Italian sandwich delivered delight. Many moons had passed and in 2025 I found myself in Pittsburgh, PA a stones throw from a mountain of memories. I convinced my wife to let us go and off we went. I entered the establishment that I had been craving for two decades and found myself transported back in time to that season of decadence and delightful abandonment. The sights, the smells, the food oh the fragrance of long forgotten days that began at 7am and ended at 3am. Rested after a night sleep i ordered the Fat Italian once again. My souls thirst had been quenched my deliverer of flavors. The meat so thick, so poignant, so unmistakable Pittsburgh with its bold outpouring of a simple idea. Work hard play hard live for eternity the yokes removed from my tastebuds. The hard boiled eggs perfectly light and fluffy with texture. The rosemary mayo an ode to herbology. Maybe I was a small town girl on a Saturday night dancing like a maniac 20 years ago but here at a proper lunch hour I sat back and feasted and relived that small little portion of a time travelers fable where I touched that time long since forgotten and enjoyed this treat as time stood still. Fates abatement struggles to endure but I am nothing short of satisfied that like the very blessed union of our souls this establishment endures!I did get too excited to eat it that I forgot to snap a pic. Dream on dr"

"Honestly one of the best restaurant experiences I have had. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful. The perfect amount of attention and was so patient and kind. I especially appreciated this since it was my friend and I and 5 kids total. The food was wonderful also. I ordered the funky monkey waffle. Omg! Mouth watering! My son ordered the chicken and waffles on the kids menu. It was so good and the fruit that came with it was great. My friend ordered breakfast tacos and they looked great. I tried a few of her chips and they were pleasantly tasty. We also ordered mimosas and they were great! I can't say enough. I appreciate the excellent service and I am very happy we decided on waffles incaffeinated today."
"Food was good, we got the Mexican street corn Pizza with Jalapeños. Interesting, tasty and well done! Anisse our server was very helpful and helped us with recommendations. Mood lighting is kept low which was nice as it was a bright outside when we visited. Unfortunately no beer was available, which the host mentioned when we were seated. We will be back but will make sure the tap is on, too."
"Delicious food! Great service and a super fun place to watch football! Had the beer pretzel which was huge, and was delicious!!"
"Super fresh and delicious! Fast and friendly service and everything we tried was delicious! Will be back for the Pho noodle soup with DACBIET (beef, brisket,&beefball)!"
"So many burgers, beer, and good vibes. I ordered the mini smash Oakland with fries. My husband ordered the Korean fries chicken with fries and a side order of mac n cheese. We had an array of beers. Everything was amazing. If you go, be sure to ask for Jen. She was our bartender and she's the best."
"I've had the mushroom melt 2 times, it's delicious and enough to share. I love the in-house-brewed seltzer. They were sold out the first time I ate here! You can add any flavor you like but I had it with just a lemon wedge and it hit the spot. There were no servers when I was there, I think it's always this way. The bartender who took my order was very friendly :) They do have an app for orders which is useful. I don't like to use apps to order unless it's take out though. I assume that they do a lot of take out business here. The front room gets wonderful daylight, even on the rainy day when I was there. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, this is a great place to meet with friends and family.I found it to be an affordable (by comparison) and casual dining experience in the heart of Lawrenceville. I'm rarely there so this was a great find to me. What's not to love?"
"Just got two sandwiches and they were phenomenal. The people or chill , is a good vibe and nice scenery. The food is very good and fresh will recommend the family and friends."
"My husband and I came here for dinner before our movie date. The atmosphere was great, service was excellent and the food was delicious. The only picture I got was of the outside because I was so hungry I ate before my phone did but overall great spot, will return."
"The sandwich I had was good, but it was nothing great or special, especially for the price. I first heard about this place on the TV shows that featured it, and I always thought that if I made it back to Pittsburgh, I'd like to go. Now, I'm disappointed. The bread was good. The prices were a bit high. The quality of the product was ok. I don't feel bad that we went. I also never will feel the need to go back. The bar was old. The barstools are a much mash of discomfort. They don't take credit or debit cards. It's strictly cash only. They do have an ATM on site, but there's a $2.75 surcharge. They also have minimal amenities; plastic forks and paper plates. This place was more fun when I saw it on TV and anticipated what it would be like. Now that I've been there, the fun is gone. They're still trying to relive the glory days when the mills were booming. Those days are over. Unless you like the nostalgia of an old building with an old bar in a town that is barely hanging on, and with minimal comforts, go somewhere else. It just isn't worth the trip or the cost to go here. You can find places at least as good nearly anywhere."
"Armstrong's used to be m parents place to eat! They loved this restaurant. They have excellent food and service and was where many happy memories of my late parents were made."

A lot of reviews I read said that they were cash only, but that is outdated! You are able to pay via credit card. Our server was very friendly and was able to give us recommendations on what we should get. I'm glad we listened to her because our food was great. The potatoes were delicious and the strawberry hotcakes were crispy and sweet.

Amazing local bar with friendly staff and delicious food!!!First time visiting Fat Heads Saloon and enjoyed every minute of it. It was trivia night on Tuesday at 7pm and anyone can join the game. Bartenders were friendly and had quick service even though they were very busy. The environment was very causal. They have a wide selection of beers, ciders, wine, and seltzers plus can make any cocktail. I ordered the Caramel onion & mushroom burger with French fries, the meat was cooked just how I like it medium well and the fries were cooked from scratch. They also have flights (5oz each) available for you to try different drinks. Highly recommend if your in the area to check them out! (:

Slow service. Overpriced meals. Complicated menu. Did I write slow service? Really slow. Be prepared to wait 30 min+ from order before you see food. Never again.

Hands down one of the best pizzas I have ever had. The pizza was flavorful, just the right amount of cheese, with a crispy crust that melted in your mouth. I actually wanted to try their wings, but my son insisted on getting the nachos, and we did. we devouverd the nachos till the last Crum. The only recommendation for the nachos would be to have them layer the veggies, bacon, and cheese rather than just having them on the top. This is because when we got to the lower part, we just ran out of toppings and cheese and ended up using up the salsa to finish them up.This was the first time I ever tried shrimp on Pizza. We ended up with some extra pizza, which still tasted amazing after a few hours. Service was excellent, and they had a variety of crowd of different age and ethnic groups. It's a college town, and luckily, I guess the college kids get out in the evenings and allow for some downtime during lunch. The restaurant was moderately busy and looked elegant with some outdoor seating. We chose indoors with the weather being a Lil chilly.

While I think it's fallen off in recent years I still believe its a good craft beer and pub food kind of place. The service is usually above par and while overpriced the food is good and sometimes great. The real draw here is the beer list and the cocktails. The list is ever changing and can be a little IPA heavy at times but they carry cans/bottles to meet your needs if you don't want to shell out for one of the lighter cocktails.Burgers and fries are truly what you'd get if you're looking to get something good and get your money worth. Even for an appetizer the chili fries or truffle fries can really hit the spot.

Stopped in here to fuel up before going bowling at Arsenal Bowling. Asked the bartender for recommendations on the food and drinks- he didn't steer us wrong. We got the Chopped Cheese and the Smashburger. Both were excellent. Everything tasted good and the beers paired nicely with the food. We sat at the bar but there were a couple of other tables open- nice size place. We will most definitely return!

"I had the cheesesteak. It was amazing. The flavor was great roll was perfect. The Cajun fries were the best. Alexis was a fantastic server. Very attentive and helpful."
"Lovely little local spot. Great coffee and my omelette and home fries were delish. Street parking can be dicey, but we only walked a few blocks. So no worries. Lovely menu. Would come back for sure!"
"Great food, friendly service, wonderful music. Loved it! If you have never eaten here try it."
"Love these wings! Perfectly cooked, awesome sauces and flavors. EXACTLY what I wanted!!!!"
"Fabulous food and service. Went there during the lunch rush and was able to get a seat. Had the veggie panini and shrimp and corn chowder."
"Have eaten here & done Take Out. Usually order their Italian Hoagie & Fried Zucchini or a Meatball Hoagie either one is a Good Choice. From what I understand it is Still Takeout only"
"Cute restaurant down the road from the grand resort. Had the fried chicken Benedict and a pumpkin spice late, both were delicious! Great service also!"
"I know some east coast pizza snobs who turn their noses up at this sort of pie and I'm just fine with that. More for me and anyone else who loves a perfectly doughy yet crisp Sicilianesque crust with a tangy tomato sauce There is not much that I can complain about with Iron Born other than eating it every day would probably kill me and I crave it any time I think about. Like right now. While writing this review. God I'm triggered."
"Take a look at the wood and the smokers. This place is the real deal. The honey butter half chicken (a special on wed) was to die for. The best bbq chicken I have had. The brisket was good too. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I had to take half of it home. If I am in the area again I will definitely eat here."
"Quaint diner in Canonsburg. Friendly service and good food. Try the Duck Confit, risotto and Beef wellington..IYKYK"
"Always excellent BBG and the service is amazing as well!!! You can't go wrong... what more can be said?!"
"Very good gyros and a lot of food for the money. Good friendly service, gave our group of 8 adequate attention. Recommended!"
"Don't be misled by the lighter crowd, as it's tucked away behind an unsuspecting bar. This spot is an honest, down-to-earth burger joint, and it's the place to go that walks that fine line between anything beyond a fast-food burger and a bougie $20-dollar modern-design-casual joint. You can choose to chill on the deck, in the bar, or call in and get it to go - your order will arrive perfectly cooked to your specifications, accompanied by a side of fries and ketchup. Here, you're in complete control of your order - either choose from the menu's creations or craft that burger just the way you've been craving and savor the no-fuss experience!"
"Still a GREAT place to stop and dine. Used to eat lunch here monthly when I covered the area in my pharmaceutical days. Solid menu and very nice staff. Beautiful location Riverside."
"A great place for breakfast sandwiches. Friendly, fast service. Reasonably priced. Everything is made fresh the way you want it. And outside the shop, there are tables and chairs if the weather's nice. Bright blue umbrellas at Webster Hall. The best BLT !"
"Stoke's always has a nice beer selection on tap and plenty in the cooler to choose from. You can either eat in the bar area or the dining room - we prefer the bar area. The bartender is your server so if the bar is busy, sometimes they don't get to the tables as often as you might like but you can walk up and get their attention. Their food has been consistent over the few times we've been there. I really enjoyed the roast beef wrap which is nicely grilled and crispy on the outside. Their coleslaw and broccoli salad were both super good! We also tried the green fries which come with artichokes, pesto, and brie cheese that were very good. They get a nice mix of old/young patrons and the vibe is laid back."
"Stopped here at the suggestion of my girlfriend for breakfast. The diner is fairly small, it does have takeout and there is counter as well as booth seating.Service was very good and our waitress was very attentive to our needs. She went with eggs over easy with a side of slab bacon. I decided to try the make it yourself omelette. Their omelettes are made with 4 extra large eggs and you have a choice of 3 ingredients with cheese being one of them. I ordered it with a side of home fries and rye bread. We got our food rather quickly. My omelette was huge but I am grateful I ordered it with swiss cheese which made it lighter and with mushrooms and green peppers. The home fries were not greasy and the marbled rye bread slices were generous. My girlfriend enjoyed her breakfast as well. The place wasn't crowded when we arrived nor did it get crowded during our visit. Sat mornings must be a good time to drop in.Prices are reasonable for what you would expect at this diner. Good food and outstanding service. Definitely will return.Located in the shoppes of Noblestown Rd in Westwood the shops have their own parking lot."
"My Pittsburgh lunch favorite is Hot special Italian sub, with fries and nacho cheese on the side!"
"Authentic Vietnamese cuisine, with a little bit of new creativity which adds surprise to the delicious food. Will definitely come again."
"Okay so update- I posted my original review two days ago (it was sitting my drafts for a while and I finally got around to posting it). I went to tako torta yesterday and it's different now! It's now a sit down with a menu (before you would order at the front and pick up your own food). The menu is a little bit different too, so the build your own bowls that I was talking about are no longer on there :( anyways, I got the chips and guac and the Carnitas taco, the shrimp taco and the fish taco and as usual it was all delicious! All the tacos were sooo flavorful. With the new menu, you can order different types of tacos, which I love! My friends actually thought the food was better since the change! Tako torta is one of my go to spots!"
"Since 2020, I have ordered several meals from this casual restaurant. I have placed my orders through the restaurant's website, and the delivery drivers have always arrived at my house on time and spoken politely. Here are my reviews for the foods:Hand-tossed pizza - 5 stars - My husband greatly enjoys this hand-tossed crust with a topping of prosciutto.Greek salad - 4 stars - This salad had a few too many olives, but I easily picked them out. The lettuce, onions, feta cheese, and dressing were fresh.Italian hoagie - 4 stars - The crust was warm from the oven and had a moist center and crispy exterior. The filling--ham, pepperoni, capicola, prosciutto, hard salami, sopressata, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and provolone--were generous.Chicken wings - 5 stars - The skin was crispy, and the meat was tender. The level of heat in the sauce was mild as I had requested.Baklava - 4 stars - The walnuts, honey, and cinnamon tasted sweet, and the top crust was crispy.Tiramisu - 4 stars - I never drink coffee, but I ordered this coffee-flavored dessert because I had not eaten it in years. I did enjoy the taste.Crispy chicken salad - 5 stars - This salad was so large that it filled up three dinner plates! I liked the fresh lettuce, sliced eggs, and crispy chicken pieces.Calzone - 4 stars - I ordered the build-your-own option so I could select my exact ingredients. When you order, be sure to request pizza sauce inside and marinara sauce on the side.Breaded zucchini - 4 stars - The zucchini slices were large, covered in bread crumbs, and fried. They were not too greasy.Baked lasagna - 4 stars - The noodles were not soggy, the meat sauce tasted good, and the right amount of ricotta, provolone, romano, parmesan, and mozzarella cheeses was included.Pizza rolls - 4 stars - I ordered the Hawaiian flavor, and the bread rolls had a good mix of ham, pineapple, and cheeses inside.New York Cheesecake - 5 stars - This cheesecake had a delicious crust, cheesy filling, and strawberry sauce.Thin-crust pizza - 5 stars - The crust was thin but still supported a generous amount of sausage and pepperoni on one side and green peppers and onions on the other side.Chicken strips - 4 stars - I had expected the chicken strips to be a plain flavor, but they were actually slightly spicy. Their breading was crispy, and the chicken was juicy.Mozzarella sticks - 4 stars - The cheese was a non-gooey stick, but it tasted good and was surrounded by a crispy breading.Jalapeño poppers - 4 stars - They contained the right amount of jalapeño pepper, cheese filling, and crispy breading.Mac 'n cheese bites - 5 stars - The noodles were neither soggy nor hard, the right amount of cheese was used for a nice flavor, and the breaded exterior was crispy.Greek gyro - 2 stars - I had requested that the restaurant omit tomatoes, but they included tomatoes. My husband picked out the tomatoes. He ate all of this gyro, probably because he was hungry, but he described it as "not good."Beer-battered fish - 2.5 stars - Part of the fish was hard, and part was soggy, probably from the tomatoes. The flavor was OK.Caesar salad - 3.5 stars - The Caesar salad contained fresh lettuce, large croutons, a good amount of cheese, and dressing on the side. Good but typical.Chicken parmesan - 1 star - My husband ate NONE of this entree. The chicken was in small chunks and was mixed into the spaghetti. We had expected a large piece of crispy chicken sitting on top of the spaghetti.Cheese fries - 4 stars - The fries came in a large serving, were crispy, and were covered in a good amount of cheese.Turkey hoagie - 4 stars - This hoagie had crispy bread and fresh turkey and vegetables and was served warm."
"One of the best seafood restaurants in Pittsburgh. Fresh seafood weekly. Best crab cakes in the burgh!"
"I hit Mama Randazzo's on a family road trip recently. We were seeing some PA sights and finding hidden treasures with an overnight in Altoona. Hotel staff recommended Mama Randazzo's as THE best in Altoona. Hungry for pasta we took the advice. No kidding - this place was seriously delicious. We all ordered various forms of pasta - with meatball and without. We had one full blooded Italian in the party to ensure we were objective, and after much slurping of noodles and stuffing of meatballs into our mouths we knew we had truly eaten in Altoona's finest. Arguably the best Spaghetti and Meatballs I have had in a long long time. Whatever your current situation you have to go there or get take out. I can only hope I make it back soon to have more."
