"I have been to Totopo several times now. The staff is always a joy and so pleasant. They are quick to accommodate large groups. They have a large room in the back that can be used privately. Their menu isn't huge but does have a variety. Their taco Tuesday deal is of value! I haven't had anything on the menu I didn't like. It's not a blow you out of the water kind of meal but it is great. I frequent the area for a weekly meeting and we often stop here for lunch."

Menu items include soups, salads, appetizers (e.g., nachos and jalapeños rellenos), dozens of entrees (e.g., flautas, tacos, quesadillas, burritos, enchiladas, chicken, pork ribs, lamb, tilapia, and several vegetarian dishes), several sides, and several desserts. The menu is available for dining in, takeout, delivery, and catering.I ordered lunch from La Palapa for delivery. Here are my and my husband's ratings for the foods:Empanada - 4.5 stars - This empanada was available in several flavors, and I selected the shrimp. The empanada was large, had a crispy dough, and contained juicy and flavorful shrimp. On the side was salsa.Fajitas nayarit with side of plantains - 4.5 stars - A few proteins were available, and I chose steak. The steak tasted good. The chef included a very large amount of fresh peppers as well as rice, beans, and some pineapple.Tamales - 4 stars - A corn-based tamale was filled with my choice of filling, which was vegetables, and was wrapped in a corn husk. On the side was salsa.Tacos - 4 stars - Several possible fillings were available, and I chose the rajas con papas (poblano peppers and potatoes). I felt thankful that the soft taco shells did not get very soggy during transport. I might have given these tacos a higher rating if I had ordered a different filling.Carne asada - 5 stars - The flank steak was *very flavorful*. My husband felt surprised to see squash, cheese, and cactus. On the side was perfectly cooked rice."

"A tasty spot in the South Side for some good tacos! There are no bad choices here, although I didn't necessarily taste any standouts either. The fish taco has a good crispy fish with spicy slaw on top. The potato taco is a great option for vegetarians, although the potatoes aren't quite as crispy as I had hoped. The chicken taco was fine, but it didn't do anything that I couldn't have done at home. The ground beef tacos similarly are tasty but maybe not worth the $4.75 price point. The churro is a nice way to end the evening! I love the Nutella dipping sauce. There are many sodas available as well. The interior is very cool--although there is limited seating-- and the staff are very kind and fun too. If you need a quick taco fix, this is certainly not a bad option at all!"

"The outdoor patio is lovely, and the tacos are great! Came in with two friends for dinner on a weekday evening and were able to be seated immediately at the outdoor patio. The decor was so charming and perfect for a summer day. We ordered chips and guac (note: the guacamole is market price), calamar, carne asada, and carnitas tacos.I thought the squid ink tortillas were so creative, and the calamar was delicious. There was a lot of depth in flavor, and I would consider this one of my favorite Mexican taco places in Pittsburgh.My friends also wanted to add their own thoughts on their orders: In the carne asada tacos, the grilled steak and cool cheese came together in perfect union, bringing to mind the complex meeting of land and sea. As Melville writes, "Consider all this; and then turn to this green, gentle, and most docile earth; consider them both, the sea and the land; and do you not find a strange analogy to something in yourself?" the carnitas tacos were yummy but dripped a lot and were a little bit dry at the same time. but overall they were pretty good. also i like that the onions were on the side because not everyone wants stinky breath (unlike me)Overall, I think this is a lively stop for a summer outing."

"This place really is the best.Since first reviewing this place a few years ago, I've always made it a point to stop here when in Pittsburgh or as a rest stop when traveling along the PA Turnpike (it's less than 5 minutes off the highway). I've been there for weekend brunch, busy Friday nights, to lazy Tuesday midday - it's always gonna be good. I feel like I've experienced enough of it to confirm that 5th star.The food is awesome. I've never had a bad meal. But seriously, just the chips - they're sturdy and thick, like the kind you find in Mexico. I've tried a variety of their tacos, including the Mexico City tacos de canasta on special. On top of some traditional delicious options like cochinita pibil, carnitas, and taco al pastor, they have some delightful vegetarian options like jackfruit and even buffalo cauliflower.Besides the awesome tacos, here are some standout items I've tried:-the Torta Ahogada at brunch - it was perfect as is, and I bet it's great as a hangover cure.-the Squash Blossom Quesadilla - I thought it would just be cheese and squash flowers, but there is something really savory and delicious that take these to another level.-the Sikil P'aak appetizer - move over, guacamole! This pumpkin seed dip is garlicky with citrus and salt that just put it over the top.While I've had some watery drinks here, the last couple of visits they have been much better. There are dozens of margaritas with any variety you could want. Other classic cocktails are available. There are also alcohol-free cocktails and other teetotaler options likes aguas frescas and tepache (fermented and spiced Mexican drink).The inside is beautiful with quotes painted on the walls. The bathroom is always clean. The staff is quick and friendly - in my experience, they all speak Spanish and at least enough English (though I found it easier to chat in Spanish a few times). The prices are fair for what you get.Definitely recommended."

Overall, it is a good place to eat if you are in the area.If you have a car, there is parking on the street. We thought they had a parking lot, but we could not figure it out."

"We stopped by our favorite Mexican restaurant on a dreary Friday night and grabbed a seat at the bar to wait for our table. The bartenders were slammed and made quick work mixing up some fantastic blood orange margaritas with a spicy chili lime rim. Fabulous! When we got seated, we got a fresh basket of homemade chips and salsa. The Inn's salsa is one of my all time favs and the salty chips offered the perfect salsa delivery system. We ordered the grilled chorizo sausage app that was really fantastic and so unique. It's served with grilled onions, tortilla and sauce and tasted like I had just thrown it into our charcoal grill. The chorizo is specially made for the Inn and just the right spice level. You have to try it!For entrees, we had the seafood enchiladas and the chili lime Faroe Islands salmon special. That salmon was just delicious!! Seafood enchiladas are always a winner with that yummy sauce. We had such a great meal! Wendy & John are still knocking it out of the park in the N Hills."

"We stopped into Emiliano's ages ago when it first opened, but this was my first time back. I stopped in for lunch while running errands, on a whim. It's located in the strip mall behind the Giant Eagle Plaza in Cranberry a couple doors down from the liquor store and next to Joann Fabric- So it's pretty non-descrip & easy to miss if you don't really know that it's there. But don't let that bland exterior dissuade you. Once inside, it's a totally different vibe and it's quite a cozy little restaurant inside & nicely decorated with a nice bar area. They have a large menu. And I was pleasantly surprised that you actually get FREE WARM (!!!) tortilla chips with salsa. Most places charge for even chips & salsa now. Theirs is quite flavorful & the warm chips make a huge difference. Service is fast & friendly. Monday they had $4.50 house margaritas on the rocks. They have specials 11-3pm & I got a veggie quesadilla which came with rice & lettuce, tomatillo, cheese & sour cream on the side. I also got a small quac for my chips. I would definitely return."

"This Mexican restaurant appears to have quite the mixed reviews, but based on my visit in December 2021, I am giving a rating of 5 stars, and I plan to return in the future.When my husband and I entered the restaurant, the seating hostess kindly greeted us and immediately walked us to a booth. Soon, our waiter arrived, and he took our order for drinks. He promptly brought out our drinks and took our orders for our appetizers and entrees. Throughout the meal, the waiter spoke nicely to us, calling my husband "friend" and me "lady," and he brought out drink refills without our having to ask. At the end of our meal, the waiter brought out an accurate bill and sincerely thanked us for coming. Here are my reviews for the foods:Chips and salsa - 5 stars - The chips and salsa were automatically brought out for free. They were fresh, and the salsa had a medium spiciness. Tableside guacamole - 5 stars - This guacamole was prepared freshly at the tableside. (I apologize to the employee for my looking at my phone a lot rather than looking at him.) The ingredients included avocados, cilantro, onions, lime juice, and seasonings. I appreciate that the employee remembered to leave out the tomatoes that my husband dislikes. My husband commented that the guacamole smelled the best ever, and the guacamole tasted excellent too.Chicken fajitas - 4.5 stars - My husband is difficult to impress, but he enjoyed this entree. The chicken strips were cooked thoroughly and were still juicy. Also included were onions, bell peppers, and a side plate of rice, refried beans, guacamole, and sour cream.Shrimp quesadilla - 5 stars - The quesadilla was a large size, so it was definitely sufficient for an entree. The tortilla was filled with extremely gooey cheese, several shrimps, onions, and bell peppers."

Flavorful and fresh - both definitely helped cool us down and tasted great. The menu looked decent, but we weren't hungry. Service was mediocre, the bartender helping us seemed pre-occupied with other tasks. The place is decent, sort of an industrial vibe to it.It would be worth stopping back in again, maybe trying their food too. Very walkable from the Grand View overlook area (the Mon incline, etc)."

The chips and salsa and waters were served almost immediately. I ordered guacamole. And I must say I could have had a meal just on that! It was perfectly seasoned and one of the best I've had. The shrimp entree I had was, without question, amazing! It wasn't overwhelmed with a heavy sauce. It tasted fresh and could tell the cook took care to make it. Not just slopped on plate like other Mexican restaurants. Hubby had a combination of burrito and enchilada. He really enjoyed every bite. He also said it was the best Mexican food anywhere around here. And that is a huge compliment coming from him! So happy we tried this place! We will definitely be returning soon!! A must try!"

"Austintown location is better!Stopped by El Jala (I shorten it because I'm hip) in Niles. The setup is way similar to their place in A-town. Vivid colors on the walls, Jarritos pop bottles on the ledges between booths serve as decor. Staff is affable and on point; the food is where it trips up a tad. It isn't terrible by any means, but the flavors are inferior to the location on Mahoning Ave. My La Oaxaqueña entree (number 55 on the menu if you're keeping score) was good, but not great. Steak wasn't nearly as tender as it should be, and the seasoning was lacking. Also, the salsa served with the nachos sucks. The free table salsa in Ohio is nearly always bad. Why is this the case? I couldn't cook a dish as good tonight's (just pretty decent) entree La Oaxaqueña, yet I can whip up a salsa that kicks what I was just served down a flight of stairs.Still, El Jalapeño is a good choice if you're in the area and have a hankering for Mexican food. Just don't make the mistake of comparing it to the superior location in Austintown."

They have TONS of Christmas decor, ornaments, trees, props, etc. They also have touch tunes and a Santa chair with a Santa hat We tried about half of the featured cocktails and my favorite was definitely the Grinch cosmo. Super fun presentation with a tart taste, not overly sweet. There's one unisex bathroom that was surprisingly clean. So far, my husband and I have eaten lunches and dinners at this restaurant several times. The employees have always provided very prompt and very courteous service. The decor looks nice, and seating is available in the dining room and at the bar.For our most recent meals, we ordered cheese dip, nachos Santa Fe (chicken-steak), chicken tacos, a quesadilla fajita, a steak fajita, enchiladas verdes (chicken), carne asada, a quesadilla vegetarian, tilapia, pina-colada cake, sopapilla, fried ice cream, a strawberry margarita, etcetera. I rate each of these menu items as 4 to 5 stars. I think that Tequila Jalisco is definitely one of the very best Mexican restaurants in the area. Try it out!"

The jalapeno chunk in the wrap gave it some flavor. Pricing was in line with what you'd expect at a Mexican place too. Parking and seating was ample but we were there at 3 on a Saturday."

I had a basic line margarita on the rocks and it was tasty! Not too sweet or sour and came in a good size glass. We split queso and chips as an app and it was delicious, as well. There were plenty of chips and the bowl of queso was fair for the price. For my entree, I had the enchiladas verdes. I am STILL thinking about it. The chicken was good perfectly and had that fresh grill taste. The salsa verde was medium spicy and the enchiladas were packed with ooeygooey cheese. The side rice was fine! My friend had the fajitas, his staple order here, and said they were great - as usual. Couldn't have asked for a better experience and can't wait to go back."

The soft tortillas were not grilled or even warmed. The chicken was extremely dry and flavorless. I specifically did no tomatoes only to discover stewed tomatoes under the meat. Shredded lettuce but no cheese. Why no cheese? I did order sour cream for an upcharge....was cheese extra too? I have no idea but got none. No lime or cilantro garnishment either.The complimentary chips and salsa was lifeless. Tasted like cardboard and the salsa extremely runny. My horchata was clearly from a mix, the least they could have done was add a sprinkle of cinnamon. Prices were fair and entree sizes were decent, it's a shame it's not worth eating. Service was OK, Would not stop here again."

This restaurant is spacious and clean, is decorated nicely, and has a full bar. The seating hostess has always kindly said hello and promptly seated us. Our waiters always have pleasant personalities, bring our beverages and foods in a timely manner, and offer drink refills.Here are our ratings for our most recent meal:Mushroom-cheese quesadilla - 5 stars - This appetizer was a good size and contained gooey cheese and fresh mushrooms.Cheese dip - 5 stars - We ordered this queso to accompany the free salsa and tortilla chips. This queso was gooey and tasted very cheesy.Camarones al ajillo - 4 stars - This entree was part of their Lenten menu. I greatly appreciate that the restaurant offered foods for customers who fast. I always give people benefit of the doubt, in case, they are dealing with difficulties. We were seated, drink orders taken and then waited to give our dinner choices. He returned and took the order; then disappeared for the next 30 minutes. Suddenly, he appeared to drop our check off...without asking if we wanted drink refills, no checking if the food was all right, or if we wanted dessert. I had to flag down another server for a drink refill. Husband wanted another margarita, but after waiting so long, he changed his mind. No idea what the issue was for the employee. He has worked there a long time. He just didn't seem interested in providing any of his customers any interaction until time to pay the check. Food was excellent, by the way."
