"I really enjoyed the ambience of this place and great food. We were seated in the basement which turned out to be nice and cool with great decor and lighting. It felt like we were in a speakeasy bar. The waiter was incredible. He did not only check in on us frequently, but he was very thorough in his recommendations. We ordered the spread which consisted of three different dishes and chickpea bread. My favorite was hummus followed by the pepper thing. I don't remember exactly the names. I didn't get to try the main dish as I was completely full after the spread, but they had a variety of pescatarian dishes and a few vegetarian. If you are a vegan, it would be a bit difficult to find something unless you want to go for some salads. Overall, I enjoyed dinner. I'd recommend to come with empty stomachs to enjoy several dishes."
"Everything was fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere was like dining at someone's home and we really enjoyed it. Falafel and chicken kebabs were the standouts here. The hummus was a slightly different texture than I am used to, but the creamy yogurt dipping sauce was incredible. Would happily return if in the area."

"I specifically came here because I saw that they had knafe on their menu. But of course I had to try some of the food before I got to dessert. I went on a Monday night, glad they were open on Monday, most restaurants in Pittsburgh aren't. There are a decent amount of tables in the restaurant, shouldn't ever be a hard time getting a table there.I ordered one of their lamb dishes for my entrée, it came with rice and salad. There is pita bread for the table to share as well. The lamb was very flavorful and plentiful. Was definitely feeling full after the entrée but I came for dessert! And so dessert I ordered. The kunefe was delicious. I recently went to Istanbul in August and have been craving this dessert and as you can imagine, it's hard to find specific cultural foods in Pittsburgh. I'm not going to say that this tasted like the ones I had in turkey but it definitely satisfied the craving and was very delicious. I'd probably come back just to order this again. But if you were considering coming here for the full dining experience, I would also recommend that as well."
"I stopped by here a couple of Monday's ago with my wife for lunch. We happened to be out for the morning and so I fired up Yelp looking for a place to eat and we decided on Kassab's. This restaurant is located right on E Carson St in the South side. Whenever we entered the restaurant at shortly before noon, we were the only patrons there. As you would expect then we were promptly greeted and given our choice of tables. The inside of this restaurant had a number of tables, murals on the exposed brick wall, a bar and then a display case for some of their baked goods. For lunch on this day I decided to go with the moussaka while my wife went with the falafel sandwich. Since I had ordered an entree, I got a salad while my wife did not and that came out first. It consisted of some heavily dressed lettuce and then a couple of slices of both tomatoes and cucumbers. The dressing had a slight mint flavor which I enjoyed and was refreshing on the salad. I also enjoyed how heavily dressed it was but can imagine others who would not. Once I had finished with the salad the rest of our food came out. My moussaka ended up being decent and I really enjoyed the bechamel on the top. Then while I liked both the meat and eggplant, I wish that there had been a bit of a thicker layer of each as most of the moussaka ended up being bechamel and potato. My wife enjoyed her falafel pita with her favorite part being the crunchy falafel. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. It has been a long time since I have had moussaka and so it definitely hit the spot for me and I would be interested in trying more of their food in the future."
"If I am looking for Mediterranean food in the South Hills, this is my first stop. My whole family agrees. If I'm really hungry I will get the Aladdin's pasta with spinach, feta and pine nuts; it's a delicious vegetarian meal and enough for two meals. If I'm with a group I might get the Mezze platter with a selection of Mediterranean apps. But what I most often do here is stop by to grab a couple of their classic tossed salads, which are a little elevated with beets and chickpeas, and their hummus, which for my money is the best in the city (and as a lifelong vegetarian I've tried a lot). That's just a perfect meal for a couple people; they also give you an abundance of Pitaland bread to go with it. They have a lovely, cozy indoor space and if the weather is nice the outdoor patio is a beautiful spot to enjoy a sangria and feel like you're somewhere other than McNeilly Rd. entirely. Service is always fast and friendly; I often pick up takeout at the bar which does a good business and they are always quick to get me on my way,"
"Wonderful, wonderful restaurant! Food is excellent!! Service is superb and the atmosphere is a history of Christo. So glad we made a spontaneous decision to go here."
"Very good gyros and a lot of food for the money. Good friendly service, gave our group of 8 adequate attention. Recommended!"
"The grape leaves here are my comfort food. Just like my nana made me before she passed. The hummus and baba ghanoush are so good! Very vegetarian friendly with vegan accommodation. My other favorite thing is the falafel sandwich. My husband and I eat here once a month, sometimes we get extra pita to take home. The owner works directly in the kitchen with his wife and you can tell he takes a great deal of pride in the place. It's a small place, with a lot of heart. Best middle eastern cuisine I ever had since the last time I stayed with my nana and baba."
"This has been our go to Lebanese restaurant in pittsburgh for years. It is family owned and operated. The dishes are very authentic. We love the hummus, baba, tabouli, cucumber yogurt salad, fattoush. Really all the appetizers are great. Their lamb shank is my kids favorite. Also have enjoyed the mixed grill and moussaka and loubeyeh."
"Our family wanted to try some ethnic food that had many vegetarian options. Jolina's popped up as a suggested restaurant, and we are happy we checked this place out. All of us liked it. The lady was really nice, and had a table ready for us at 1:30 pm as we had requested. We tried a few of the appetizers. I had the lentil soup which was good and I was surprised by the lemony flavor that it seemed to have. My son had the spanakopita, which he absolutely loved, and my daughter had the spinach pie, which she liked a lot. After that we went for the vegetarian Mazza, which was an assortment of falafel, baba ganoush, hummus, grape leaves stuffed with rice, etc. All the items were fresh and tasted delicious. We finished off with Baklavas for dessert: simply superb. The ambience is simple, but clean. It is very obvious that the owner couple are working hard to run a Lebanese restaurant and are managing on a tight budget.I will strongly recommend this place, especially if you are a vegetarian. Will strongly recommend this place."
"Great service and great location with the super cool rooftop.I came here on a Wednesday night in the summer. Outside rooftop area had a decent amount of people. The inside area was basically empty but had windows open so you can feel the nice breeze come in. They do have a happy hour from 5 PM to 7 PM on weekdays but I came a little after that. I ordered their oxtail Birria tacos. It came with three pretty thin tacos and a white people version of consume lol. The soup was thick and nothing like how it's supposed to be. The tacos were decent for what they were but they certainly weren't birria. Also, the cheese was not proper. Their drinks make up for the food though. I had three cocktails and each one was better than the next. I appreciate the decent prices for such a nice bar.The service was great. Bartender was super attentive and cool. I would likely return here again to try their happy hour and probably stick to drinks"
"After a day of post-quarantine shopping my family and I popped in to Sauceeino for lunch. They are currently open, but for the time being ordering is by phone or app and drive through pickup. You can also dine outside on their patio on tables with umbrellas. The owner says he is taking it slow before resuming indoor dining. Sauceeino is a fast serve Middle Eastern/Mediterranean restaurant with a concept similar to Chipotle. Start with a wrap, bowl or platter. Choose a delicious protein (lamb, chicken, falafel, beef or pork) on rice or veggies. Add a side (hummus, baba ghannouj, kale, beans etc) pickled veggie and sauce. Customize your way and then gobble the healthy goodness up. I ordered the chicken rotisserie bowl with rice, kale, pickled cabbage and carrots and blueberry sauce. The portion was generous and very fresh. I love the rice with a hint of cinnamon. The yummy blueberry garlic sauce has a nice punch of flavor. And the kale...never before have I had such tasty kale. The kale actually got tons of raves - tender and fresh with a roasted garlic flavor - so yummy.I really hope to return soon!"

Casbah is a gem for Mediterranean cuisine and one of the best spots to impress your date or enjoy a cozy evening out. The ambiance is intimate, with dim lighting that creates a warm, romantic vibe. The excellent service only adds to the experience--attentive and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing.Pro tip: Make a reservation. This place fills up fast, and for a good reason. What I Loved:Calamari: Incredibly crispy and perfectly seasoned, making it an ideal appetizer for sharing.Ricotta Cavatelli: Warm, comforting, and flavorful--definitely a standout pasta dish.Chiffon Cake: The perfect end to the meal. Moist, light, and not overly sweet. A must-try for dessert lovers!Overall, Casbah is a go-to for a delightful Mediterranean dining experience. I'll be back for another slice of that chiffon cake and to explore more of their menu!

As I was going to the Mexican restaurant I saw this place and looked on Yelp and it had great reviews. I'm a huge fan of middle eastern food. Safak was great! Super friendly and knew what to recommend. If I'm ever back in this state I will come here and highly recommend!

Whoa, this place was amazing. The dining area is beautiful and clean the service was excellent. The prices are on the higher end of average and worth it because the food is just so damn good. I had the Zereshk Polo and my sister had the Chicken Kofte and we cleaned our plates. It was all incredibly well cooked and spiced. Just a gem of a place that I would recommend to anyone. Park in the street and walk a bit. It's fine. Just go.

What a gem! If I had my ukulele I would play a sweet song called "Yalla!" It's obviously a love song bc I love this place. Great service. Heavenly food! Exceedingly fresh and flavorful beyond words. I did all vegetarian... (but they have a plentiful meat selection)Mezza platter ! Huge! Spinach pie! Hot and fresh (not frozen malarkey)Dolma was such heaven, I wanted to sing a song! Something with Fairuz, of course. Pitas & fatoush (salad)Everything was delicious and delightful.I adore the painted mural of the Lebanese couple... and the lady is making Man'oushe with Zataar. What a charming place !

The food is delicious here. One of Amel's standout features is their outdoor area, which proves to be fantastic for kids and big groups. With sun and wind-friendly umbrellas - it's ideal for catching up with loved ones and antsy toddlers.Amel's menu, which is primarily Mediterranean - is extensive, diverse, and it also proudly boasts a wealth of sustainable meat options as well. I always enjoy their tasty salmon dishes - though all of their menu items are on point - including their homemade hummus. Amel's is also very accommodating when it comes to menu tweaks/adaptations - so don't be afraid to ask if you have any specific food intolerances or preferences - The staff are also great here. Friendly, responsive and quick to bring and clear away plates. For our family last meal in the area - Amel's was a lovely treat. We enjoyed the perfect outdoor weather. We were able to enjoy each other's company without the bustling noise of their interior, which is definitely it's own vibe - but it does get loud - due to how well loved and popular Amel's is throughout the week.If you're looking for a delicious low-key meal made with quality ingredients - Amel's is your spot. They have something for everyone - from delectable salads, well cooked proteins (lamb, fish etc) to hearty burgers. Trust.

A little piece of Greece in downtown Pittsburgh. The walls are decorated with memories and Greek music helped immerse us in the ambiance! We enjoyed all of our dishes, though it was strange to find banana in my salad! The service is a little slow, though we were served by Christo himself. We'll be coming back to try the famous Jackie O cake!

Kabob-G has been in our regular rotation for years. We tend to order moussaka, steak shawarma, stuffed grape leaves and hummus, and all are dependably delicious each and every time. Other menu items have been equally good, but we are hooked on our usuals! This is a family-run restaurant with great comfort food!

"Wow such a pleasant surprise, ordered this to our hotel and the best Italian Wedgie I've ever had!!! Everything was so good and fast delivery too"
"Excellent food......great service. The staff was super helpful. I really didn't know much about this cuisine. I would go again."
"This part of town has more than enough dining places to choose from, so it's often hard to reach a decision. A recently published coupon and favorable reviews of this place helped to make our lunch choice. They recently changed their name from Ross Cafe to its current name in order to help the community gain better insight into the type of foods they serve. Their menu is very extensive and filled with authentic Mediterranean dishes. Our server, as well as most of the restaurant staff, are Turkish. Wise decision to tout who they are and what they serve, but I must add they feature a fairly sizeable breakfast menu that is available all day!Our meal was good, portions were large, and the atmosphere was relaxing. BYOB."
"Very good Mediterranean Street Food. I thought the Felafel was excellent. They have a small dining room, 3 booths and 3 tables. It's all pretty generically plain. There are some evocative photos on the walls. The music is American top 40 music. The staff is friendly and helpful."
"We placed our order through the website and got the Meat Lovers, the Cheese and Spinach, the Cheese Bread, and the Pita with Hummus. I came to pick up my order, but after checking, I had to go back to retrieve the rest. Even then, they forgot one item, so I had to return a third time to finally get the missing bread.I wish they had offered something extra to make up for the inconvenience. It's their responsibility to ensure that customers receive their full order the first time. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be ordering from Ege Mediterranean again."
"I stopped by here a couple of Fridays ago with my wife for dinner. We had unexpectedly found ourselves childless for the evening and so scrambled to Yelp for a somewhat close place to us. After some looking around, we ultimately chose to visit Gyroland and Bakery. This restaurant is located on Babcock Blvd not too far from where Thompson Run Rd ends into it. Whenever we arrived on this early Friday evening there were only a couple of other people in the restaurant and the numbers stayed low even though there was a steady stream. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but due to the heat we chose indoor. Besides the tables they also had a giant display case with some of the bakery items in it for all to see.For dinner on this evening my wife and I started out by sharing the babaganush and then I went with the iskender kebab while my wife went with the combo kabab. My entree was described as Lamb gyro topped with medium - hot tomato sauce and yogurt over pieces of traditional turkish bread while my wife's was described as Grilled combination of adana kebab kofte kebab, chicken adana kebab, lamb shish kebab and chicken shish kebab. The babaganush here was good with a nice smokey flavor to it but what my wife and I really appreciated was the bread which was like your normal pita, only thicker. They worked together nicely and our server did bring us more whenever our entrees came out. Then for our entrees, well both mine and my wife's were delicious. She let me try all of the four meats she received and each was juicy and flavorful. My iskender kebab ended up having a great flavor from the sauce. While I wouldn't call it spicy, I did really enjoy it. Then my meat was also tender and the biggest surprise of all for me was that as described, it was all over the Turkish bread. That bread was cut up tiny and almost played the role of what noodles would in an Italian dish. I throughly enjoyed it but it was also a super heavy dish and I left taking half of it home. With all of our food being fantastic, it was really the service that dropped this from a 5 star to a 4 star review. With a mostly empty restaurant you would think that service would be great but I did sit for most of my dinner with an empty glass of water and only got a new one when I asked when getting the bill. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. While the food may seem a bit pricey at first glance, you definitely get a lot and it's flavorful too!"
"Words cannot describe how good my meal was from this place. Never in my life have I tried a shawarma, but I promise you, I will be back after tasting a bite of this. I got the spicy beef and lamb shawarma with a side of fries. Fries were decent. Shawarma was a 10/10. Basically a burrito filled with gyro-like meat, veggies, and a creamy garlic white sauce. It was so good that I wish I had ordered two of them. Not going to lie, I'll probably be back tomorrow just to get it again. Give this place a try. A+..... glad to have this little kebab joint in the neighborhood."
"Had cheese lovers pizza, could taste every different cheese. Delivery was early than stated. House salad was very packed. Would order shsin"
"Gyros portions are large- beware! My husband can usually eat 2 gyros and fries but the meal was so big he couldn't finish it. The fries are seasoned and so good too. I went and placed order for takeout (there really isn't space for dine in except a counter and couple stools) so food was hot and fresh when I got home. I also brought home some baklava, baklava cheesecake and grape leaves. There's some items ready made in the case like dessert, grape leaves and hummus. Really friendly service and both phone numbers posted on yelp work (one is old, one is new at their Irwin location). Posting the menu and will be back for sure!"
"This is my first visit and won't be my last. The service and food was excellent! I placed my order for Chicken Shawarma wrap, Spinach pie and Mouttabal dip and it was hot, fresh, and ready in less than 15 minutes. The check out process was quick. The food was phenomenal. The spinach pie was a nice appetizer size portion with ample amounts of seasoned juicy spinach with a tad bit of walnuts for texture. There were just the right amount of other ingredients to compliment the flavor from the spinach. The chicken shawarma wrap was a nice sized wrap with generous amounts of filling-chicken, sauces, pickle and not too much garlic. My favorite was the sauce, which reminded me of warm cream cheese. It was yummy! The mouttabal dip was cold, but had a great flavor and texture. The smokiness of the grilled eggplant, countered by the acidity made me want more. I highly recommend this place for fresh, friendly and authentic Middle Eastern 'Tasty' fast food."
"Right next to Giant Eagle, amazing Mediterranean food spot! I got the chicken and lamb gyro, was extremely fresh and filling for an extremely reasonable cost! Service was great, the owner and chefs are very hospitable, and I will be coming as a regularFood: 5/5Service: 5/5Time to get food: 14minOverall: 5/5"
"Stopped in for a beef shawarma this afternoon. There were a couple people ahead of me in line and they gave up and were exasperated with the wait. That made it a little quicker for me thank heavens. It's not clear that you order from the right window and pickup from the left window so I think that may have led to a lot of unnecessary standing around for some people too. The shawarma with saj bread is quite good and the toppings were plentiful. Aside from the wait and unclear queuing this was a good experience and I'd go back again."
"Decided to get lunch out with some co-workers so we ordered delivery from Ephesus. Delivery time was reasonable as was the price for everything. The buffalo chicken pizza was pretty good with the spicy fries and cheesy goodness. The ranch to dip it in was yummy as well. The chicken tasted okay but didn't look fresh. It tasted like it was processed or frozen beforehand. The best part hands down were the fries on top!Overall, two personal pizzas were enough to feed three very hungry people with some left over. I'd order from here again but next time I'd go in to see if the dine-in experience is a little better."
"Lemoona House catered a work lunch for 20 people. We enjoyed hummus, pita, salad, spanakopita, chicken shawarma and gyro with tzatziki. Everything was amazing, and the team agreed this was the best lunch yet!! Highly recommend."
"I made a trip out west to try one of my buddy's favorite Greek restaurants: Nedal Gyro. I was skeptical of the location since this side of Butler is sketchier than a call center in India, but I was instantly greeted by a friendly waitress and made my way toward the table.I ordered the Gyro, and the lamb was as tender as the sore flesh around my tattered up SI joint. The water tasted like paint thinner, but I was feeling fattened up after that blissful Gyro. I'll be back once the cold weather subsides and PA's gas prices stop kicking my tail."
"Delicious and fresh made. I had the Tabbouleh, grape leaves, hummous, and pita. I was absolutely impressed by the authenticity, price and taste. Good portion size. Great choice for Mediterranean cuisine."
"Brand new addition to Murray Avenue. The staff was so friendly and positive. I had the hummus and dolma appetizer along with the mixed grill for an entree. The menu is similar to your typical Mediterranean place. The hey here is it was quite easily the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. Everything was spectacular. I cannot recommend this place enough."
"I have been driving past this place for a while and was sooo excited for it to open. It did not disappoint!!! I got a double smash burger and my husband got a triple smash burger. They were DELICIOUS! You can really taste how fresh and halal the meat is. The smash burgers come with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and special burger sauce. We also ordered a bowl with a base of fries and chicken shawarma as our protein. For the toppings, we got the chickpea salad, Arabic salad, sumac onions, and turnips topped with the Yaba white sauce & the aioli sauce. This was sooooo good. We devoured it. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was great and the place is so clean. I love the vibes that they went for. I will definitely be back again. Next time I'm gonna try the bowl with rice base, can't wait!"
"My husband I stopped by on Saturday. The weather was beautiful for sitting at the picnic table. We shared an order of hummus which was amazing and so much that we took the rest home. We each had the gyro wrap and ate every bit. It was perfectly seasoned and the wrap was delicious. We will definitely make it a regular stop before our usual Sunday Kroger shop. The cook was also very friendly and efficient . I didn't catch his name but will next time! We were so busy eating that we didn't take any pictures to share. Again, we'll be back."
"I got a takeout order so I didn't have a lot of contact with the staff, but they were very friendly and even asked for feedback on their food after we ate it.My husband ordered a schwarma and I got a chicken seekh kebab platter. We requested the tzatziki on the side and they happily complied with our request. The tzatziki sauce is incredibly velvety, rich, and flavorful. It's the best I've ever had. I'd never had chicken seekh kebab before, but it was very flavorful, moist and well-prepared. The saffron rice that it came with was colorful and fresh. The saffron flavor was a good accompaniment to the spicy (very hot!) kebab as was the tzatziki. The schwarma was stuffed with fresh salad and on a fresh pita. I don't know if they make their own bread on the premises, but it was soft and of good quality."
"This is our go-to Pizza spot! Whenever we order take-out for friends and family, it's so good they always ask where the pizza is from. The Gourmet Greek pizza is our absolute favorite - it's a must try. We thoroughly enjoy supporting this restaurant and owner!"
"Went back here recently to try the in-person dining experience. The restaurant has a very low-key vibe. The owner and her daughter were working that day, so I was happy to support a local place. Only minor issue is that it felt very hot in the restaurant; not sure if they have air conditioning, which was tough on a humid day.I tried the spinach pie and mujadara. Both were solid. The pie was pretty light (not too much for lunch) and came with a small side salad. The mujadara was a big portion pretty evenly split between rice and lentils.Glad to have this place nearby my office."
"We got the deep dish and it was very good and different. There were tomatoes on top and the cheese was underneath. We also got the buffalo chicken pizza and wings ! All of the food was yummy!"
