"Food was pretty good. The steaks were grilled perfectly. 1 medium and 1 medium-well. The true Pittsburgh Pierogis lived up to the reputation. Service was crazy good. It was a slow night but, you can tell they hustle here. The neighborhood is sketch AF. Make no mistake. However, the place is spotless inside, renovated and very cozy. Soft lighting but not dark. And some TV's to watch the Pens!!!!"
"I'd highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice dinner in Pittsburgh! The view was amazing and the service was fabulous!I also enjoyed the food and quality of what I received! They start you off with rolls that are crunchy and flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. I also loved that we had our own butter plate with butter, the little things right? I started with a caesar salad that they made tableside, which was fun to watch but also made it feel super fresh! It was delicious and perfectly seasoned!I got the tomahawk pork chop which was juicy and crispy on the outer edge, the way I like pork chops! The sides weren't my favorite but it was okay since the chop was hugeI need with crème brûlée, which had a nice vanilla flavor, smooth and sugary!"
"Kelly's is exactly what I want in a neighborhood bar. It's small. It's dark. There is one side which hosts a massive rail and other intimate booths which run parallel. The music was on point all evening. We came after a Pirates game and it was slammed, after waiting for five minutes we got a table. The food here is homey. Massive portions and definitely proper pub food. Went with the fish sandwich, Cajun meatloaf and Mac and cheese. The fish sandwich is massive. It needs sauce, so make sure to coat the boat in provided tarter. The meatloaf had a nice kick and was smothered in perfectly cooked onions. The Mac and cheese was good, albeit not the most amazing and didn't live up to the hype for me. I would, however, order it again. If you're looking for a cool spot in a gentrified neighborhood, Kelly's is your go-to."
"Excellent place for lunch and dinner! Their ribeye burger might be THE BEST I've had in the entire area. Smokey, rich beef flavor and just the right size for lunch. Also, their breaded citrusy cod bites with garlic aioli are fantastic! #yumFinally, their French onion soup is delicious and tops off a great lunch in a warm, inviting atmosphere ~ lounge style seating around the bar. Dessert: Tiramisu!A great place to indulge in a drink, or two and enjoy a hot and hearty delicious meal!"
"Spirits and Tales now offers espresso martini flights, and it's a brunch game changer!! They are located in Oakland, right near Cathy, on the top floor of the Oaklander hotel. My sister and I shared the flight and I'm glad we did. The drinks were normal sized, not smaller, and it's only $30 for the 3 cocktails which is not bad at all. For brunch I ordered the eggs benedict (classic). My boyfriend got the hamburger and wine. My sister ordered the breakfast sandwich. My eggs benedict was really delicious. They drenched it in the hollandaise sauce; I loved it!! The espresso martini flight came with 3 flavors: Chocolate Raspberry Espresso, Cafe Bliss, and Simple Indulge. My favorite flavor was the chocolate raspberry espresso. My sister got the breakfast sandwich and she really liked it. My boyfriend got the hamburger and said it was really good as well. I have my eyes on that spritz flight next"
"Starlite pierogis are still my favorite. Huge!!! And it's fun to just buy them frozen to make at home. Starlite has been spruced up over the years, but it's still old school Pittsburgh dive. Lots of regulars. Lots of older folks. Service can be very slow. Only one cook, often Moondog himself (check out Moondog's next door for the best blues bands around-cash only bar there). But the prices are CHEAP for the amount of food you get. I got a big grilled chicken salad that came with grilled chicken, grilled peppers, onions & mushrooms over lettuce & tomatoes & pepperocini. I got a large Tito's & soda & my tab with tax was $16! So there's that. So even if you watched the TV show with Guy Fieri don't come here expecting some fake shi shi dive, this is real true Pittsburgh people & food & an actual dive. I've never had bad food, just very slow service, so always allow over an hour for dinner."
"Solid food and service nothing but respect all around get a seat by the pizza oven you will not be disappointed."

Pierogie flavors were great, three varieties, jalapeño was the best. Beet salad was scrumptious and we shared the Reuben sandwich that came with fries. Lots of flavors of mule cocktails, and cocktail specials. Great music, vibe and service.

Overall: come for the view but don't stay for the food. The service was super accommodating and nice but I wouldn't say the food tasted great by any means. Food: it's been a while since I've had a filet mignon but I don't remember them being as grainy as that one was. I understand the waiter messed up and gave me my friends medium cooked one as opposed to my medium rare one (or they messed up the cooking) but it really didn't feel like a filet but rather a top sirloin. The salad to start was not bad but the whole grape tomatoes was very lazy to just "throw them in". The cheesecake left more to be desired as it's as plain as it looks. Ambience/Decor/Service: super posh upscale restaurant that I would argue is too expensive for the quality of food. Yes it's beautiful inside and sits with one of the best views of Pittsburgh but at least make the food bearable. Service was incredibly rapid and the people there are on top of things. My only quip is that for a fancy restaurant the attention to detail isn't there as many a times I've waiters fingers were touching the food when serving to us.

I started coming here because I live walking distance to it now. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it's a really fun atmosphere when you go in! It feels like a diner but it serves great cocktails and food. They also have really good vegan options surprisingly too! This is a great spot that my girlfriend and I like to come to.

An inviting space on the top floor (10th floor) of the Oaklander Hotel in Oakland. Huge window views at your table, a bar, and around the corner more comfy seating sans tables. Even the ladies restroom is swanky. No hand blowers here. Plenty of paper hand towels Our server was extra helpful. Prior to him coming over we were busy looking up dishes and ingredients since there were so many words on the menu alien to us. He made it simple for us, answering all our questions. My friend and I ordered drinks. I had the dragon's breath -- mezcal, chili ancho liqueur, luxardo, lime juice, habanero bitters. Presentation was with a bubble on top.We ordered a starter -- the labneh- zataar, pepita, grilled flatbread. For my entree, I ordered the bucatini -- roasted acorn squash, pine nuts, fried sage, brown butter, grana purana. For dessert I got the chocolate, hazelnut, and poached pear tart. You can probably see why we were busy looking up words. All was excellent except the pear. It was a bit too firm in texture.Price was fair. For the two of us, each ordering a drink, A shared starter, two entrees, and 2 desserts, we split the tab down the middle and half was 68.00. That was a lot of food for the layout. I'm happy, especially getting ambiance and great service.

The place reminds me of the old bars I would go to in Detroit with my grandfather before we went fishing in the morning (yep, bars were open at 5am for those chronic drinkers who knew!).Its an unassuming place with little decor that hasn't seemed to change since the 80's. I can see where this would put some persnickety kale eaters off, but, for me, there is a nastolgic charm to it. The only things missing were clouds of smoke lingering just below the ceiling and a few old timers wearing their pants and liver out on their habitual bar stools. With that aside, I often find that these are the places where you can get some great honest cooked meals that do one or two dishes really well. Dishes that a corporate chain, with their stiffling adhearance to standards, could never recreate. Menu is typical for this kind of bar with a few gems that looked like the things to dive into: Meatloaf sandwich, fried fish sandwich, pierogies, Polish platter. I ordered the Polish Platter: 2 pierogies, keilbasa, sauerkraut, and haluski. This is not a light meal, mind you, wear your belt with the extra notches. I came here looking for some of those great pierogies Pittsburgh is known for. I don't know if I got them, but what I got really hit the spot. They were huge, fist size pierogies with a good ratio of dough to filling. The kraut was kraut (I like it in most of its incarnations). The haluski was decent and satisfying especially mixed with the kraut and keilbasa. The keilbasa was decent as well, better than what I can get in LA, but no keilbasa will ever compair to Kowalskis from Hamtramck Michigan, sorry. My only disappointment was that there was no horseradish. But that's me, its hard for me to feel completley satisfied with a Polish meal without horseradish. Staff was nice and friendly. They seemed to know everyone who walked in the door and had more than a cursory connection to them. I must have stuck out like a toad with three eyes! The cook (maybe owner?) came out to raz the staff and some of the guest. He made a point to check in on me too, which was great. That kind of sincere personalized service is something you can only get in a place like this (the insincere form of this in corporate food is called "table touching," the difference is palpable). If i ever get back to Pitt, I would definietly stop here again and try something else on the menu that looked good, probably the meatloaf sandwich...that looked great to me...mmm gravy!!!

The food was delicious but interesting. The service was amazing with little chatter except for the bill, nevertheless it was amazing. It was so peaceful and relaxing. I felt like I was in modern day Italy.

"Such a cute place! We were seated right away. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. We had pulled pork onion rings and southwest spring roll appetizers that were both amazing. Ribeye and Salmon were also both a big hit."
"Sat outside in the tent due to Covid crap. Inside, well the whole place was packed so service was slow, and the prices were pretty high by WV standards. The drinks were right sized, cold and good mix/flavor. 4 us and not a complaint at all. Shrimp, Mussels, fried pickles, salads, hamburger and sausage sandwich, lobster ravioli were all very well done. Fresh bread, sides and apps all good. Nice onion rings too, but ours came out cold due to the slow service. Worth a shot...just go when it's slow."
"I typically do not expect bar or lounge food to be that great however Parlay has several menu items that I enjoyed.Ribeye steak - very well marinaded but be sure not to order it beyond medium or it will be tough to chew.Onion rings - really crispy!Calamari tastes good and the dips are okay. What took me by surprise mainly was the hamburger with cheese and bacon. Meat is juicy and the bacon was crispy as we requested. There is a sushi option but trying a few rolls did not yield any positive reaction.Bonus: it is next to the casino ."
"Great happy hour specials. The chicken is my favorite. I wish they would bring back their chicken and waffles I would be there every weekend for brunch. The atmosphere is safe and friendly. I highly recommend this place."
"Stopped in here before a concert and was not expecting much based on the look from the outside. Despite this, my wife and I ended up having a great time. The outside area was a great setup for the nice weather. We sat outside, had some drinks, and talked to others waiting to go into the concert. The service was really great too. All of the bartenders and staff were super friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stop back!"
"Tried this bar out for the first time two weeks ago and couldn't just leave it without a review. It was the best food I have had in a very long time since moving from California. Most of the bars out here are good but just aren't something to brag about or have very low quality food. However, TNC's food was not only delicious, but we'll priced. Too many times have I gone to a restaurant out here and the prices were either way too high for the lack in quality or just at that level where the saying, "you pay for what you get" works perfectly. I will definitely be going back to TNC's and would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal at a good price with good customer service. :)"
"food is amazing!! they deliver christmas eve and it was great! great service! comfortable atmosphere! surrounded by an amazing and well kept hotel! would recommend if staying in boardman area! never had even a slightly bad experience! although i would skip desert!"
"As an interracial couple, we were met with racism. As soon as we walked in, we were glared at. I was the only Caucasian there. My husband said he had a bad feeling. We were told to sit wherever. Waited 10 minutes and was not given menus. 3 other gentleman walked in right after us, was given menus and drinks right away. I had to take the menus from the bar. It took another 10 minutes to receive a margarita. We placed an order for fries with cheese and meat. The menu was mostly fish and didn't have the normal food selection but decided to try something anyway. The margarita wasn't great and not strong. Another 2 tables got their food before we did. Again, we only ordered fries. My husband said he has experienced this in the past. Certain communities do not approve of marriage to other races and will be treated differently and shunned. Finally after a good 20 minutes our fries arrived. He stated if they come out cold, this would be a perfect example of discrimination. They were ice cold. They had to be just sitting in the back. We immediately asked for the check and left as soon as possible. We were stared at as we left. We ended up at another restaurant as the fries were not edible and we were still hungry. We do not tolerate any type of racism and will never be back."
"Great local place to grab a good meal. Meals are priced right and are prepared well. All the burgers and sandwiches were great that I've had so far! This place should continue to do well as its the best value in the river valley!"
