Rachel T. "Market Street Grocery is located right in Market Square around the corner from the Simple Greek. I used to visit the wine bar in the back often before the pandemic. They served Collefrisio wines and had great cheese plates. My friends and I would go for their happy hour for half priced glasses of Riserva wine. It was a very laid back atmosphere. I don't think the wine bar has reopened, but I visited recently for a coffee. De Fer Coffee & Tea is now the coffee provider inside the grocery store. I guess I haven't been there for a while, because there were a lot of changes! The macaron stand isn't there any more, and they have seats instead. I was so glad that I took my laptop with me, because once I saw the seats I decided to stay and work. While sipping on my oat milk latte, I watched all the Downtown work people come and go ordering custom sandwiches and hot foods for lunch. They have a good selection of food and the prices are reasonable. I remember one time ordering salmon, veggies, and something else and it was only about $10-$12. They served it to you on a plate, and I ate it in the wine bar. I didn't eat anything on this most recent trip, but I enjoyed my latte from De Fer. I'm glad to know they have seats now because I definitely plan to eat/work there more often. They also have a restroom downstairs that is kept clean."

Gabi J. "Absolutely amazing sausage! In Pittsburgh visiting family and came down to the Strip district. They don't have a whole lot of selection, but that's probably a good thing because what they do do, they do it well.I got the hot, mild and spicy sausage as well as the breakfast sausage. TBD on the breakfast (that's for tomorrow morning) but the others were amazing. Cooked it according to the guy behind the counter's recommendation in the style of Italian peppers and onions (and used the handy-dandy instructions he gave me) and it came out amazing! My favorite was definitely the mild. It had a slight sweetness I was super digging. The hot and spicy were great too...but the mild hit the spot for me.Next time I'm in town, I'll be back! Heard they even ship, too!"

Tamara G. "If you wanna cook Italian & don't wanna drive to the Strip District in Pittsburgh, then Labriola's has you covered. They have homemade frozen pasta, meatballs & soups galore. A large deli counter with meats, cheeses & prepared foods. There are desserts, I got a coconut custard pie today only $5.95. Sauces, dry pastas, olive oil galore, fresh breads from Mancinis & Breadworks. It's a small scale Italian family run grocery store (they do have milk, eggs, but don't expect much fresh produce). The parking lot is very small & there are a few spaces along a side street. I'd definitely go back when I need authentic Italian ingredients of any sort. Very friendly staff too."

Karla D. "Ah man I love it here because the prices are so good and they have all of the things I like but can't find at the big box supermarket. The only problem is that they have so much good stuff that I shop like I've never eaten before and spend way more money than anticipated. Hey it's not their fault they carry amazing products. You should see me trying to walk home when I've bought too much. Trying to carry it is a sight. They've got a great selection of fresh foods as well as convenience foods. Indian, Asian, etc."

Eva R. "An Oakland classic. I have always heard about their amazing wraps and how they put a bag of chips in them and I was finally able to try one this weekend. I had the Frenchi classic #1, which was piled high with lettuce, tomato, meat, chipotle sauce, cheese, onion, whatever other toppings you want, and of course I had to get a bag of chips in it. I had the spicy Doritos put in. It ended up being $9, but the wrap was huge. The wrap was super delicious and tasty. Also, their hospitality is excellent. They remembered my friend and even offered us free drinks on the house. They are open pretty late, so whenever you are craving a sub or wrap, you can get it. Overall, a great experience and will definitely be back!"

Tim W. "A Bodega with great take out sandwiches. For those who don't know Hanini's Market is a Cleveland based market. I had seen them throughout Cleveland during our many trips there, but never tried them. I was happy to see a location pop up in Wilkinsburg and had to check them out. Hanini's is a corner store that has just about every snack you could ever want like candy, chips, pop and a few grocery staples like milk, bread and eggs. You can also buy t shirts, hats and other clothing, play the lottery and get "smoking supplies" as well, but the REAL reason to come here is for the sandwiches! It's more convenience store than restaurant so to go is the only option. The sandwich counter set up is very similar to Subway's in which you tell them which sandwich you and what bread you want it on and if you want it heated or not and them what veges you want. What i like about Hanini's is that their meats and vegetables are of much better quality than what I have typically find at Subway. What really sets Hanini's over the top is the fact that they offer so many different types of sandwiches like paninis, reubens, gyros, wraps, burgers, hot dogs, quesadillas and Polish Boys just to name a few. They also offer different salads and loaded tater tots.My families go to sandwich is always a cold corned beef sub on white bread. They are HUGE and come packed with a couple big handfuls of meat. We all get our own sandwiches as we are not about to share with each other. The sandwich is definitely big enough to have half for lunch the next day. The corned beef is very tender and melts in your mouth. Cleveland is known for great corned beef sandwiches with places like Slyman's so I'm thankful to get a taste of Cleveland here in Pittsburgh thanks to Hanini's Market."

Liz G. "I'm so happy I live so close to this spot. It's a family owned sub shop with the nicest owners. They are very fairly priced and have a lot of different options. I always get the Italian sub and my husband gets the roast beef sub. The subs are always evenly proportioned and the bread is delicious. I like that you can choose to have your sub hot or cold & they always ask about LTO & dressing/condiments. They sell Turner's tea (the best) and other pantry items like local pasta and sauce."

Tanya G. "Kiev is the best Eastern European/Russian grocery store in Pittsburgh so far. It's clean, well-lit, the food is fresh and the people who work here are friendly. They have pelmeni, caviar, tvorog, a nice variety of kolbasa and salo, seaweed salad, freshly pickled cabbage and tomatoes. This is only place I was able to find that that sells pre-made Olivie (and it is delicious, a huge container of it is sitting currently in my fridge). There's also a wall with konfeti (candy) that you can buy by weight and make your own assortment. Bunch of pickled veggies, canned sardines and etc. The only thing that was lacking here was bread but I don't feel like it's a drawback since you can get most of your Russian-tasting bread at numerous Jewish bakeries up the street. They even have some greetings cards and Russian magazines and newspapers. And you can order birthday cakes here from a Russian bakery in NYC!"

Troy B. "I had heard about this place recently, and I was in the area today, so I stopped to check it out. This little market sells a small variety of food items, snacks, drinks, lottery, deli meats and cheeses, etc., but what it is known for, are their hoagies. They bake their own hoagie rolls in-house, and have a variety of named subs on their menu, plus a build-your-own option. These subs are sold for take-out and are served cold (not baked). I tried the namesake, "Tim's Italian," and it was very tasty, and hit the spot. The employee making the sandwich was very kind and courteous, and even offered to put the oil and vinegar on the side, since I told him I wasn't eating it right away. I look forward to coming back again sometime to try one of the other types of hoagies . . . Cheers! P.S. Located right next to Slice on Broadway, along the T-tracks. Free parking available in the lot behind the building."

This was the best baba I have ever eaten. I will definitely be back to try some other stuff they sell. The Tabbouli was great and the grape leaves very tasty. I'm getting hungry just writing this review. The only bad thing I can say is that I don't want to post this review because I want to keep it a secret. But let the word out and George's will be around to enjoy for many years."
