"You are short changing yourself if you're in Pittsburgh & don't visit the Square Cafe! We have been coming here for years when we are in town visiting our daughter. The main thing we come for is the lemon-berry ricotta pancakes on the breakfast menu; however, they have a yummy, innovative menu for lunch & dinner as well. Our food and coffees were served hot and fresh. Our server was friendly and efficient. The cafe itself is always busy yet super clean (even the bathroom) which is important to us. We highly recommend Square Cafe!"
"We tried Out of the Fire over the weekend for our Valentine's Day date and it was pretty good! We made a reservation and had to wait a bit, but understandable with it being a holiday weekend. We got seated and the ambiance was very nice. They had a few specials so we decided to try the ricotta cheese appetizer. It was delicious and we really enjoyed it. We each got a drink to start as well. I had a cocktail and my husband tried a beer. They have a great drink menu. We then ordered dinner - I got salmon and tried a cup of their mushroom soup, and my husband got the wagyu burger. We were offered bread after our appetizer, which we found odd, but opted to have it since I figured it would be good with my soup (sadly it came out with our meals, after I had finished the soup). Our entrees were very tasty and very generous serving sizes. I enjoyed my salmon and all of the attention to detail with the ingredients. We ate our meal and had ordered another round of drinks - me opting for a white wine and my husband with another one of their yummy IPA offerings. We would definitely come back! Thanks for a great date night."

"Anything work the pork is my fav. Be it a Banh mi or the rice bowl, get it! They r both the best!!!!!"
"Food is so fresh & tasty! Many different sandwich combinations to notice your tastebuds and a soft pretzel always seems to be a good start or an easy take home snack!"
"Best gyro for your buck! Great counter seating to enjoy delicious food. You order at the cash register and service is promt. Also the pistachio baklava is amazing. This is a such a quant small business with hot food and groceries."
"Have been here three or four times and been happy with each encounter. Got the Southern Benedict this morning when I couldn't decide between Eggs Benedict and Biscuits and Gravy and I highly recommend! They were able to accommodate my niece's dairy allergy and modify her Elvis French Toast, which is much appreciated.Extensive offerings in the Eggs Benedict, Pancake and French Toast department. Decor is cute as a button and the bathroom was clean.Love a small local business with excellent food and good service. They also offering catering, which I would imagine is also great."
"So many options for breakfast made it hard to decide. They all sounded delicious! But I ended up with the Alaskan Cowboy. So happy with that choice! Eggs, hash browns, guacamole, tomato wedges and two heaps of wonderful smoked salmon. A very filling option, I don't think I'll eat any lunch! This place has it all going for it. Nice decor, pleasant, efficient staff, clean restrooms and above all else, delicious food that is fairly priced. My only wish is that there was closer parking. Greensburg has limited street parking so unless you're willing to walk a bit, making this your destination has it's limitations. But if you are in Greensburg working or shopping, be sure to stop in for a bite or for coffee. You will not leave disappointed."
"Generoasta is my favorite lunch spot. I work nearby so I come down here most weekdays because it is the perfect chill spot to relax and unwind in the middle of a busy day. I typically get the southwestern chicken rice bowl and it is absolutely fantastic. Couldn't recommend it more. As a stark, raving carnivore, I couldn't be happier (there's bacon in there!!). Also the service here is excellent, the staff are as cheerful and friendly as they are good at what they do. Plus, good tunes, a fire pit for the winter and outdoor seating in the summer. Also.... wine! Highly recommend!"
"So fire!!!! We got it tonight for dinner (dessert for dinner woohoo!!) so so good. Everything was beautifully prepared and tasted like heaven. The fresh fruit that came with everything was also great"
"They're great. I do gig delivery work and UberEats got me onto them. It's amazing and much more affordable than I thought it would be. And they're local so give them a shot."
"We visited this cafe while on vacation. It was so good, we went there twice! When we got there Saturday morning, you could tell this is where the locals go, which is always a great indication of how good the food is. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. The staff were super friendly. The food was fantastic. I had their French toast. The French toast is made with handmade bread! Everyone I was with loved their food. I would definitely recommend!"
"Super cute place. Staff is really friendly! They had live music this past Friday night, which is always a good time to me, no matter the genre. I had the general tsos to eat, which was delicious. Definitely check them out!!"

If you haven't tried the breakfast burrito at Square Cafe, you are missing out! I think about it maybe too often? It's super filled with amazing breakfast goodness! I opted to add crumbled bacon this time and I'll be doing that from now on! I really enjoyed my iced vanilla latte too. My only complaint about my most recent visit - I ordered a breakfast biscuit sandwich to go for my husband. I asked if they could just leave the biscuit on the side (not fully assemble the sandwich) so it wouldn't get mushy on the way home. I totally understand that they don't accept modifications, especially because they're so busy. But I felt like that was a really easy request, in my opinion. Our server told us she would try but couldn't guarantee. I was disappointed that they couldn't make this request. Overall, love Square Cafe and would highly recommend for a delicious breakfast and brunch spot!

Popular spot in rural Donegal. Popular spot with a large, varied menu and extensive drink menu. Service was very polite and attentive, and they were able to accommodate a party of ten with advanced notice. Building has a rustic feel, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The Pimento cheese appetizer was quite good, with very flavorful cheese and curried veggies. The deviled eggs were also good, but too much focus on the pork belly and not enough on the actual egg filling. Both were decent. The burger was quite disappointing unfortunately. Firstly, they claim it's a smash burger, but it's not. Secondly, it was overcooked. Third, it was $20. If you're going to charge that for a burger, it needs to be incredible, and this just wasn't. They have much better options. The smoked salmon sandwich was also interesting in the sense it was cooked salmon. Often smoked salmon is raw, so just be aware if that's what you want. Lastly, the Ruben was a pretty great offering, tho they forgot the thousand island initially, or used very little. That was an easy fix. Sweet potato fries were great, but the Chipotle aioli was... Not chipotle? Not sure how to describe it, but it had a very unique, albeit not chipotle, flavor.Overall, a pretty good spot in an area without many options. Reservations are needed and understandably so. They need to make some easy tweaks to their menu items, but overall, a decent spot whether you're passing through or a local.

There are so few banh mi places in Pittsburgh so I'm really glad I finally went to this one! It's a really small shop in Lawrenceville with no indoor seating but a few outdoor tables outside. The place is small so the line usually goes out the door, but it moves pretty fast. We went at lunchtime and didn't have to wait too long to snag a table and order. The sandwiches are pretty large and filling and definitely worth the price! It's filled with lots of veggies that taste fresh. Bread texture is crusty but still chewy -- the type that leaves crumbs all over you when you bite into it. They also serve a variety of Vietnamese drinks/coffees as well as bowls. Definitely satisfied my banh mi craving :)

One of my favorite places in downtown State College! Whenever I walk in, I am always greeted by very welcoming and friendly staff. The atmosphere is very homey, the perfect place for a cute date or just to chill with friend. The menu on the blackboard is also filled to the edges with different sandwiches (including vegetarian friendly options), salads, breakfast items, tea, and coffee. Look out for the limited seasonal items too!I usually like to try a new item every time I go, but the first time I went, I got their Vegetable Pesto Panini. It was warm, crispy, packed with pesto flavor, and oozing with delectable cheese. Simply the perfect sandwich so to speak. Their Pesto-port Egg Sandwich on brioche is not bad, but I would go for their panini instead because it's larger and more flavorful. I'm also a sucker for the sweet and savory profile, so I tried their Aloha Burger that included a perfectly cooked beef patty, bbq sauce, provolone, bacon, tomato, mixed greens, and a whole slice of pineapple. This was honestly one of the best burgers I have ever had in my life. It was incredibly juicy and the sweetness from the pineapple complemented the savory patty so well. Totally recommend!! Some other items I tried is their Maui BBQ Chicken Sandwich which was decent. But I probably won't get it again just because I prefer the other items better. Their seasonal item Pumpkin Spice French Toast is my least favorite item simply because there was a huge lack in flavor and overly expensive (~$16 for 4 half slices of bread).Overall, I definitely recommend coming here!! They have soooo many options for everybody, and their freshly made pretzels are apparently legendary too (next on my list to try). They also only have burgers on Thursdays, so be sure to go on that day!

The lamb burger was one of the best burgers I've ever eaten! Bun must have been right out of the oven. Wife had a gyro salad that was also very good. Everything seems very fresh. Can't wait to go back!

My favorite breakfast spot in the Pittsburgh area! I usually get one of their many benedicts and they're always excellent. The menu is pretty large so there's something for everyone. I recommend reading before you go if you can because it can get overwhelming trying to read everything if they're busy. I've also tried some of their take home meals and they're really good too. It can get kind of busy on the weekend so there might be a wait but it's never been long.

Loved the atmosphere of this place. Some great art on the walls and the staff were friendly and professional. We arrived around 11:15 and were seated right away. They do have a bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and they also have coffee with alcoholic options as well. I went with a nice warm mocha and it was delicious! They do have a nice menu that has both breakfast, lunch, salads and starters. I decided to go with the Poke Bowl - this bowl is at Market Price, so on this particular day it was $18. It came with jasmine rice, ahi tuna, ginger, cucumbers, seaweed salad, and a wasabi sauce. It was delicious! I do wish the jasmine rice was warm and the tuna was a bigger serving, but overall the flavors were amazing and loved every bite of it! Overall had a great experience and enjoyed the great food!

My husband and I have tried this place a few times and still have not found a good tasting coffee. Some days the coffee is burnt and undrinkable. They have a cute spot and a big menu. We are hoping we will find something here soon.

"My daughter and I were excited to try this place out after the countless times we've passed by. Unfortunately, this was a "one and done," for us. Perhaps we didn't order the right things, but based on what we did have, the quality/flavor/value of everything did not add up well.LA CAPRESE: (2/5)The buckwheat galette flavor was a miss for us. it overwhelmed the taste of the rest of the ingredients. my daughter and I ate everything else in it and left the crepe part out.LE PROSCIUTTO MOZZA: (2/5)This sounds good and fancy right??? i was really excited about this. imagine my surprise/shock when i see it get pulled out of the refrigerator, pre-made (wrapped in cellophane) and just put on the panini maker. i would expect something like this to get made to order, but i guess not.SERVICE: (2/5)we went during brunch, which was pretty busy. it took a little over 30 minutes for us to get these 2 items to-go. there was one person making all of the crepes, which was nice to see them being made fresh, but it was longer than i was anticipating, especially for what these were."
"We stopped by this morning, I've been wanting to try them for awhile and I'm so glad I did! The coffee is strong and smooth, it was so delicious! My partner and I absolutely love trying new local coffee shops and this is a lil hidden gem! Frank was really sweet as well! We will definitely be coming back!"
"They cater to outdoor enthusiasts, and the food is excellent. The views through the sprawling windows are stunning, with lots and lots of natural light. There's a great tap list.I'm not a fan of the pop music they have playing, but I'm probably in the minority.A very attentive staff."
"I love this place! The staff is friendly and the food is really good. I also really like the atmosphere and all the art on the walls makes for a cozy, fun environment!"
"I haven't personally been to Loafers Bread, but my sister-in-law brought us some cinnamon rolls from this spot, and they were really good! They were packaged, and traveled a day to get to us, and they were still really tasty; so, I'd guess they're even better fresh. The next time I'm visiting the area, I'd like to go check this spot out in person for myself to try some more of their delicious baked goods!"
"This place was super cute and roomy inside. I love the atmosphere and could totally see myself coming here for coffee or to work. They have a pretty extensive coffee and tea menu actually. I checked to see what chai they use, and they're using Oregon, which is not my fave (too sweet). Their food menu is limited and I was shocked to hear they had gluten free bread. That was super excited to hear and order their turkey and artichoke panini. But then a bummer to get the news that they pre-make their panini's. I'm sure there's a reason they do that, but it was disappointing. She said she could make a breakfast sandwich, but I really wanted a lunch item. So I asked if she could make a turkey sandwich and she said yes. I kind of assumed it would be the same as the turkey and artichoke, or a regular turkey sandwich with cheese, tomato, lettuce and mayo. I literally got bread and turkey. There was clearly some miscommunication. I'd think if you're offering gluten free bread, you'd want to do your best to make it as awesome as the rest of your sandwiches. I would go in again, but communicate better when ordering food."
"Bread is incredibly fresh and they have a wide variety of sandwiches. I'm a personal fan of the half a sandwich half soup combo. The cinnamon bread also makes great French toast!"
"Wow. I actually SHOUTED in the car driving past when I saw "kombucha bar" and "micro roaster" on the awning. Stopping in, I was NOT disappointed. I hadn't had booch or GOOD coffee in days. I was offered samples of all the kombucha flavors and opted for the lavender blueberry. I also had the Costa Rica pour over. Absolutely perfect. What a gem. I will go out of my way to get to you whenever I find myself in Western PA. Thank you!"
"Do we need one more breakfast place in the Strip? Definitely yes, if they can dish out delicious crepes, omelettes and sandwiches like Cafe Mona.I'm a fan of the Bloomfield location, so I was delighted to find the same great food and wonderful service. This is a great place to go for conversation and good food. The music was all Latin, very charming, and the staff and customers didn't mind that we danced to one number before we said goodbye."
"Duuuuuuuude, what an awesome place!!! I had been here a few times when it was the American Cafe, and I really enjoyed it, but now it's on another level. It's been spruced up a bit and the food is top notch. We came here and they were short staffed and their cook called in sick, so their menu was limited. We had a BBQ chicken pizza and stuffed peppers, and both were Fantastic! The lady wasn't comfortable grilling chicken so she used chicken tenders instead and it was awesome! The stuffed peppers were served with buttered Italian bread and in a bowl with plenty of sauce for dipping. Charlie, the bartender, was great, and their prices are very reasonable! Will definitely be back!"
"If you want breakfast and or lunch this is your old fashioned place. The food is amazing as is the service but definitely no frills. Hidden in the heart of Carnegie and brings pleasant surprises to your taste buds."
"A real asset to our community, good and very interesting sandwiches and wonderful desserts, plus they roast their own coffee."
"You know this place. It doesn't matter if you've been here before or not, as soon as you walk through the doors of Nova Cafe in Millvale, you know where you are. It is familiar, but not too familiar, but not too not familiar. It is, in the best sense of that word, a deli.I love sandwiches. The sheer variety that comes with the word is breathtaking so, it follows, that I love delis. There is a balance to be struck with a good deli. Accessible, but not chain. Clean, but not spotless. Inexpensive but not cheap. Well lit, but not an operating theater. Lots of options, but not too many. welcoming, but not the kind of place you would spend your whole day in. This balance is extremely rare, especially with the influx of artisan eateries popping up on every corner. (Sidenote: I throw no shade at artisan eateries. Food service is a rich tapestry with room for all varietals.)Nova Cafe strikes this mythical balance. I could eat every meal from here, and not only because they have both breakfast and dinner service. The food is of fantastic quality and they hit the high notes beautifully. They don't skimp on the meat when you order a sandwich. There is no filler. Each sandwich comes with a pickle spear and a bag of chips. I like to pair the whole deal with a small container of pasta salad, you know, the kind that's red for some reason and has both olives AND cucumbers in it? I told you, you knew this place. On my first visit, I tried out their Chicken Tortilini soup. Despite it being swelteringly hot that day, the soup was a wonderful decision. I also went with the club sandwich and the aformentioned reddish pasta salad, assuming these items were a baseline for whatever else they had to offer.I returned the next day.The staff is friendly, the service remarkably fast and the food, as mentioned, tremendous. Nova Cafe is there in Millvale, just waiting for your return."
"This is such a super cute place! Perfect for a quick bite for lunch and everything is made fresh to order! They also have candles and unique canned jams! One of my new favorite lunch spots. I highly recommend. Everything was absolutely fantastic. We'll definitely be back for more!"
"We needed a coffee place, and this one popped up on the map. While there is construction going on on the street and you have to park in a side street, the store is great, and the host was even better. We will be bac next time we are in the area as this a coffee place you want to be."
"I've tried two sandwiches from here and tried different pastries. Pastime I was there they forgot my bread but I will try to have it made up for the mistake."
"Nothing special.Ordered the chicken fiesta omelet and the turkey pesto panini. The omelet is HYGE and the veggies are fresh but the chicken is processed prepackaged meat. The kind you see next to the Lunchables at the grocery store. For $11.25 I expected real chicken . It came with a side salad which had cherry tomatoes, red onion and cucumbers and a small container of honey mustard dressing (there was no option to chose your own dressing). Salad was small but good. The turkey pesto panini came with roasted red potatoes which were actually kind of spicy. The actual panini was really fresh and tasty. The portion was big and you can tell it was handmade. Big thick slice of tomato and extra fresh spinach! All in all I think it's a tad overpriced but I'm happy with the order besides the processed chicken in the omlete"
"This new cafe is clean and comfortable...The breakfast sandwiches we had were delicious...And Katie is friendly and efficient...Definitely give Zero a try!"
"I am a huge fan of the locally-owned Hazelwood Cafe. They have excellent pastries and drinks. They make their own chai if that's your thing, for non-coffee drinkers or those coming from the gym they have excellent smoothies, and the African coffee brings a special taste to those who appreciate good coffee.Hazelwood Cafe also always has an array of baked goodies that have provided to be excellent. I am not a breakfast sandwich guy but my life enjoys the breakfast sandwich on a bagel. Hazelwood Cafe is a little something for everyone. Cozy yet plenty of seats and free wifi. Great place for work, a meeting, or just a quick drink and snack. And how could I forget the service? There's nothing like a locally-owned business that truly stems from the community."
"We found this cute place while running errands. It's perfectly placed in fox chapel plaza among shops that are already on your Saturday to do list. Stop in for a quick bite, a delicious treat and/or smiling faces. We always get their chocolate chip cookie no matter what. They have fresh pumpkin bread baked daily and yummy hot chocolate (perfect for those afternoon rainy days here in Pittsburgh.)"
"Thank you for the delicious almond cake, Aunt Cheryl! Visiting from Virginia to see the town and this was our first stop. Looking forward to going back and trying the famous turkey salad!"
"As someone who normally chooses pies over cakes, their Fruit Explosion cakes are what I daydream about. With white frosting serving as a blanket for colorful fresh fruit, these cakes are simply beautiful. And they taste just as heavenly!"
"Being an avid Can-Am Spyder Rider, we stop into a lot of places to eat. We had ridden by this place and always on the days that they are closed. We finally got to eat some really good food, breakfast and lunch. The service was great and the food was really good. The waitress was outstanding and always came to out table for coffee refills. The only downfall were the Home fries/chips. Very bland and tasteless. My husband had them with onions and pepper's, but still were bland. Other than that, our guests enjoyed the food and we all will return."
