Gerald H. "Stopped here on Saturday night for dinner. A newer place in town, the building looks like a new build with plenty of room to grow, an elegant lit bar, lounge area for those who are waiting in the back, and open ceilings. We sat near the window and waited for service for quite awhile until a manager (hat, glasses, tie) came over and apologized and sent a waitress to us.We ordered a margherita flatbread to share as an appetizer. This was good - I would have liked to have more basil on the top - whether more of the chopped or whole leaves. This really adds to the margherita style of pizza. Overall good - and highly quality cheese. I ordered the cacio de Pepe for my entree which comes with a house salad. The salad dressing was good - a light dressing and the lettuce had almonds and cranberries on it. The cacio de Pepe was very good - the pasta was cooked properly and the flavor was on-point. Very good take on an often-overlooked dish. For dessert, I ordered the blackberry cheesecake - which was good, but the bottom crust was way too thick and was hard to cut with the spoon even with me applying all the pressure I could. The waitress ended up taking the pizza off the bill for our wait at the beginning. She was attentive but there were some lulls in service where we could have kept the meal moving and cleared the table quicker for their benefit. Good place - worth a try!"

We were glad they were open on the holiday. The pizza was delicious and we were stuffed with just that. We also got to try a bunch of beers as samples and got a pint of the white magick of the sun which was a spiced ale. It was delicious and we wanted to buy a case but they said they didn't have any left. Would go back to try other brews and other food!"

We had a great guy coming to check on us at regular intervals, checking to see if allwas okay, and refilling our water. The food was okay. I had the Philly steak sandwich. The meat was not very tender, and the taste was somewhat old. It might've been the fact that had been used. I did not really enjoy my meal too much, however, everyone else in my team seem to enjoy their food. Overall, it is a fun place to go with a great setting"

It isn't overly crowded (good because I still don't love the seating options), Blue Sparrow is there, and often there is a new beer release to enjoy.Service is always fast and friendly. They have a tap list on the smaller side but still manage to have some variety. They do offer 5 ounce pours now, which is a nice option to have. Coven has been putting out some fantastic beers. They did a Baha Blahst sour which sounds (and looks) a bit crazy but was so delicious. We enjoyed it on draft and came back for more (and cans which hadn't released yet). Their strawberry pretzel salad sour is fantastic. There is so much strawberry flavor bursting out of this beer that even just the smell is amazing. You actually can taste the little salt kick which is nice because too often you can't. This is a beer I will always come back for. They also have done a series of Priority Mail stouts. Unfortunately we missed the two other variants they did in Black Friday. However, we have enjoyed the original coconut one several times now on draft and brought bottles home and even shared with friends. We had to try it seeing as my fiancé is a mail carrier, plus we love big, flavorful stouts. Please continue to make more of this series.Just a warning... the bathroom is fairly dark. Also the air freshener or incense or whatever they are using is pretty strong. I try to avoid needing to use it when I'm there as strong fragrances can give me issues and I know there are other people who also have a problem with this.I think Coven has been a great addition to the Pittsburgh brewery scene. I look forward to many future visits and getting to try more delicious beers."

They seem have events like live music and trivia so you can always check to see what is happening. It was nice weather (summer) when we went and fairly busy outside but not as busy inside. We grabbed a few seats at the bar which tends to be our preference. They don't have a huge taplist but at least have some variety to it. I ordered the pumpkin ale which came with a cinnamon rim. It was okay but not one I would seek out. I also tried my fiancés lager and it was again, okay. Service was ok but I appreciate when a bartender will chat a bit and offer recommendations, etc.Just a note is that when we were there there was a fair amount of kids running around and playing and definitely seemed more of a family atmosphere. Matthew U. "What a neat little restaurant for Altoona to have. Even though it is technically along a busy throughway, it is still tucked away and you don't feel as though you are in the middle of such business. While out with three indecisive people it is hilarious to pick a place to eat at. Which was the case for us on this fine day. After taking a nice trip around the countryside we decided it was time to eat something. After a bunch of "I don't knows" and "I don't cares" we ended up at this place.Marzoni's is a small regional chain that kind of bills itself on Italian fare with a few other things thrown in there. Maybe you could call this a pub even with the kind of foods they have to offer here. You walk in and are greeted by an old car sitting in the area and then when you finally reach the main area you are greeted by a large bar area with seating around it. The overall theme in here is sports bar meets microbrewery. Once seated and with menus in hand we were off to the races. This is where things started to lag at those races, our server. Not sure what was going on with him, but he was not having the best day of his life. He approached our tables and took our drink orders and then disappeared for a bit. Once he did reappear we placed our food orders and played the waiting game.Once food finally started to come out we didn't pay much mind to the server. For an appetizer I went with Fried Devil Eggs. I have never had them before let alone heard of them, but I decided I would give them a try. Nothing more than coating the white portions of a hard boiled egg and then dipping them quickly in a fryer. Just enough to give the coating a nice crunch. Then you just fill that with the yolk mixture and you are all set. They used some of this yolk mixture to create a base for the eggs to sit on so they won't roll around on the plate. They top the yolk mixture in the egg with some crumbled bacon, green onions and paprika. You can eat these with your hands if you want to, but I decided to eat them with a knife and fork to keep my hands nice and free of a mess. I was pleasantly surprised that the crunch of the coating didn't throw me off. However, the yolk mixture may have needed a little more mayo or something as it is was a bit thick and the yolk taste kind of took over your palette. Meanwhile our entrees arrived at the table. In this interaction our server asked if we needed anything. We asked for refills (which we did end up getting) and extra napkins (which we did not end up getting). For my entrée I went with the Fish and Chips they had on their menu. I have come to a liking of fish and chips recently and will give it a try just about anywhere I go. This entrée consisted of a large filet of fish coated and fried perfectly, tartar sauce, side of chips (fries), and a side of slaw. The filet was amazing. Crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside. Pairing that with the tartar sauce is a no brainer. Odd, because I hate tartar sauce any other time. The fries were fresh cut and appeared to be fried twice to give it that extra crunch. And the slaw was quite amazing. Nice cool piece to this meal. Overall the food was kind of great. Our server, yes back to him, however was not. I know he had to be having a bad day. We could hardly hear him as he was talking way too low for us to hear him. He never brought us the extra napkins, I ended up heading to the bathroom in hopes of being able to wipe my mouth after the meal. And the worst thing he had happen was spilling a whole tray of drinks on another customer. Yikes, sounds like he should have called out that day."
