"Best views of Pittsburgh & I get to ride a tram to it? Yes, please! Altius in Pittsburg is a must visit restaurant but get a reservation. It offers some of the best views of the city. While enjoying dinner, the city works below you. It's a stunning backdrop for dinner. I had a wonderful evening, enhanced by the super attentive staff who made sure every detail was perfect. I decided to play chef and customized their burrata salad by adding shrimp and a scallop. What a total power play. Loved it!"
"I have been to Totopo several times now. The staff is always a joy and so pleasant. They are quick to accommodate large groups. They have a large room in the back that can be used privately. Their menu isn't huge but does have a variety. Their taco Tuesday deal is of value! I haven't had anything on the menu I didn't like. It's not a blow you out of the water kind of meal but it is great. I frequent the area for a weekly meeting and we often stop here for lunch."

"Monterey Bay Fish Grotto is an upscale seafood restaurant that is located on Mount Washington and offers gorgeous views of the Pittsburgh skyline. The dining room has two levels and has glass walls that allow customers to see downtown Pittsburgh's skyscrapers and rivers while they eat their meals. The menu lists foods such as oysters, calamari, shrimp, mussels, lobster, crab cakes, scallops, sea bass, flounder, salmon, swordfish, tuna, branzino, etcetera. My husband and I have eaten meals at this restaurant for over a decade. During our most recent meal, the seating hostess promptly greeted and seated us. Our waitress was prompt and courteous. Here are my reviews for our foods:Peach-Please mocktail - 5 stars. This mocktail contained peach ginger beer, ginger peach tea, blackberry syrup, and lime. Surprisingly, it tasted very sour, even after mixing it, but I really liked it. Mediterranean salad - 5 stars - I greatly enjoyed the large amount of greens, olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers, red onions, pepperoncini, chick peas, feta cheese, and red-wine vinaigrette. Caesar salad - 4 stars - This Caesar salad was fresh and tasted as expected.Seafood trio appetizer - 4.3 stars - The crab cake was very meaty and tasted very good (5 stars). Skewers contained chunks of tuna, swordfish, and salmon (4 stars). A couple of shrimp were nicely cooked and seasoned (4 stars). Jamaican king salmon - 5 stars - The salmon was cooked perfectly, and I liked its jerk seasoning, curry-butter sauce, and side of Caribbean confetti rice. Ahi big-eye tuna - 2.5 stars - My husband ate this entree, and he did NOT like the large amount of sinew or connective tissue, which gave the tuna an extremely chewy texture. Tuna is his favorite fish, and he orders it at many restaurants, and we have not seen so much sinew elsewhere. He did like the spicy sauce and the side of pesto linguini. Angel-food grilled-cheese sandwich - 5 stars - This dessert might sound unusual, but it was delicious. Caramelized angel food cake contained cream-cheese filling and was served with berry compote, vanilla ice cream, and almonds."
"This was the best meal that I have ever had in my life. After every bite I was speechless with how good it was. Very sad that I live 5 hours away or I would be here all the time. We arrived around 7pm on a spring Friday and we didn't have to wait at all.The only thing that I don't like is that you have to order at the counter. I think since it was my first time I felt a little rushed. But I had looked at the menu ahead of time so I kinda knew what I wanted. The person at the register also helped me make some decisions. We went with the pickle plate, some perogies, the schnitzel, and a dessert. The waiters did a great job of coursing the food. Some highlights were the fennel salad on the pickle plate, the potatoes and the beet salad that came with the schnitzel. And for dessert, we just had to notify a waiter that we were ready and it came out promptly. Everything was delicious.I was really impressed with every aspect. This felt cozy and relaxed. I can't wait to come back to pittsburgh and eat here again."
"My favorite happy hour for good bites! The servers are so kind and guide you through the menu. Such a cool vibe to get drinks with bites with friends. Will always be back for more!"
"The outdoor patio is lovely, and the tacos are great! Came in with two friends for dinner on a weekday evening and were able to be seated immediately at the outdoor patio. The decor was so charming and perfect for a summer day. We ordered chips and guac (note: the guacamole is market price), calamar, carne asada, and carnitas tacos.I thought the squid ink tortillas were so creative, and the calamar was delicious. There was a lot of depth in flavor, and I would consider this one of my favorite Mexican taco places in Pittsburgh. My friends also wanted to add their own thoughts on their orders: In the carne asada tacos, the grilled steak and cool cheese came together in perfect union, bringing to mind the complex meeting of land and sea. As Melville writes, "Consider all this; and then turn to this green, gentle, and most docile earth; consider them both, the sea and the land; and do you not find a strange analogy to something in yourself?" the carnitas tacos were yummy but dripped a lot and were a little bit dry at the same time. but overall they were pretty good. also i like that the onions were on the side because not everyone wants stinky breath (unlike me)Overall, I think this is a lively stop for a summer outing."
"We had a delicious dinner and was pleasantly surprised. For food we had the Fancy Fried Chicken Sandwich and Crab Cakes. We started off with the Pierogis, & Lumps (rolls)! It was all so good!Service was good and really like our server, Lola. Neat atmosphere offer a separate bar area, indoor dining room, and patio dining. We found street meter parking g so didn't have to use the garage and had secured reservations via open table. Was a bit concerned after reading some of the reviews but 5 stars for us and was absolutely recommend."
"The food was excellent. The front-of-house was a little less than welcoming though. We got there 5 mins early and they told us (party of 5) to come back at our reservation time. So we did and they still didn't have seating ready for us. Just not an awesome way to start the meal. Once we were seated everything turned around. Great server and excellent food. Definitely recommend. I should caveat that we were there Christmas Eve so everyone probably wanted to be elsewhere, except for us. Cannot beat the location that time of year though."
"Breakneck Tavern is a restaurant and bar that has a casual atmosphere, excellent service, and solidly good food. The menu includes foods such as soups, salads, burgers, tacos, BBQ ribs, crab cakes, filet mignon, scallops, lamb, and creme brûlée and beverages such as beers, cocktails, whiskeys, and wines. Please see my attached photos for the menu in February 2024. My husband and I had a reservation for lunch on a Saturday. We arrived after 11 AM, and many tables were available. A seating hostess kindly greeted us and soon seated us at a spacious and clean table. Our waitress spoke very nicely to us and provided timely and accurate service. Here are my husband's and my reviews for our foods:Crab dip - 4 stars - This crab dip contained not only crab but also corn, red peppers, and spinach. On the side were several pieces of Cajun-flavored pita bread. This dip and pita tasted good, but my husband commented that he would prefer that it not contain corn.Bison burger - 4 stars - The bison patty was cooked medium as I had requested, and it was topped with fresh lettuce, onion, cheese, horseradish mayonnaise, bread, etcetera. I ate most of it. For my side, I chose French fries, and they were properly fried and seasoned.Fried-chicken sandwich - 4 stars - My husband ended up taking the chicken out of the bread buns and eating only the chicken. My husband chose a side of onion strings. He said that this entree was good.If I return to the Mars area again, then I would feel happy to try more of Breakneck Tavern's foods. Maybe I will try their crab cakes and ribs in a future dinner..."
"Food was good. Glad they brought back the meatball hoagie. Staff is still Great. Bartender Brett - Warm and friendlyAmbiance bar area is the best area to eat and hang."
"Came for happy hour on a Friday. The service was quick and friendly. As soon as we sat down, we had chips and waters on the table. The happy hour quesadilla with pulled chicken was good! The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The house margarita with a coronita topper was also pretty good. Not too sweet. The ladies bathroom was clean, but out of toilet paper."
"Really great barbeque in the North Hills! It's tucked back in an unassuming location, though easily accessed from McKnight or Ross residential roads. I visited on a Friday night and managed to snag the last table in the main dining area prior to live music starting. My husband and I both were impressed by the reasonable prices and the cozy ambiance right off the bat, and we were quickly visited by our server. We tried two apps (deep fried deviled eggs and cheese curds), both were excellent, and my husband tried the 2-meat combo while I tried the pulled pork nachos for dinner. Everything was fresh and flavorful! Very smokey flavor, very generous portions, all accompanied by great local folk music. We also loved the 2.50 Yuengling on tap! They also offer local craft beer and Boyd and Blair cocktails, which is nice. I'd love to return for more live music and to try more of the menu! The sandwiches look great, as does the mac & cheese. Lucky to have this hidden gem spot nearby, especially given that BBQ as a cuisine is so sparse in Pittsburgh!"

Come for the view and stay for the food.Came here with some friends for a good non stressful time.1) Place is excellent. Extremely fancy, welcoming, and clean.2) The views are worth the price. Bring your big wallet.3) The food is excellent! Every dish was great! This place is a perfect place to bring friends, colleagues, and that special someone in your life. It is expensive but don't let that scare you. Great place! Great food! Excellent service! Amazing city view. Love it!

1st time visiting was a recommendation from a friend. The decor is great. Warm, inviting & comfortable. The margaritas were full of flavor & freshness. I had the spicy pineapple & my daughter had the seasonal special apple cider. Dinner was soooooo good. I had one of the seasonal specials & my daughter had the pick 3 combo. Portions were very large. Chips were crisp, but they could use a little salt. Salsa is very good, but if you prefer chunky( more pico style), you may not enjoy it. We will definitely be back

The service was incredible, and the ambiance was so romantic. It was very cute that I got a free birthday desert and it was so delicious!!We started with crispy calamari and it was okay, it wasn't really crispy and some pieces had a weird texture but the lemon sauce was good. I ordered the she-crab bisque to start and it was really good! The brussel sprouts were very tasty as well they were like an orange chicken sauce Asian style (idk how else to explain it lol). The chicken supreme mashed potatoes were so good, and the chicken was okay, I would've preferred it without all the skin but once I took it off it was fine. Overall a great experience!

Be me. Be in Pittsburgh for a little vacay. Decide to visit an Eastern European spot. Reap Reward.I found myself in Pittsburgh for Anthrocon, a Pirates game, and a Riverhounds game. I brought my partner who was not hungry and I was starving because I spent all day wearing a giant carpet. We roll up in the Uber and they ask if this is the right place, and I play it cool, and say "totally". It is the right place. I love the cemetery as a neighbor. The outside is pretty unassuming. I checked in at the host station and was told it would be about a 40 min wait. It was worth it. You order at the bar and get a number and shown to your table or seat. The menu is on some nice paper or it's written on the wall. I would recommend going earlier in the evening. They were out of a few things by the time I got there. The restaurant is pretty minimalist and has a lot o earth tones and I like that. There's an inside and outside area and a small bar. Buy yourself a beer, have a shot of vodka, have some kompot, or listen to a drink suggestion. They were all an amazing way to start our experience. I got the pickle plate and it was incredible. I cannot explain to you how flavorful the pickled mushrooms were, or how good the carrot paté was on the homemade bread. The salad was expertly dressed and was really well balanced. The pierogi pair were amazing with the horseradish whip on top. I had to make a whole new paragraph for you to understand how good the noodles with strawberry puree were. I have never seen/heard/had something like this before. This was life changing. Truly. Every once in a while I'm moved by a dish and impressed that it sparks my passion for food once again and I feel creative again. This meal was so good and I didn't even really notice that it was vegan. It was so good I called my grandmother the next day and had to tell her about it. Please come here. Please experience everything they have to offer.

If I could have packed this lil spot up and taken it back to Charlotte with me I would have. Umami was the absolute highlight of my quick trip to Pittsburgh last weekend. I came off of the recommendation of a good friend and it did not disappoint. I came alone on a busy Friday and asked to sit at the bar, and it was packed in there. The host was SO kind to literally grab a stool from who knows where and squeeze me in at the bar. Truly so kind and so appreciated. I was perfectly happy to sit elbow to elbow with some really nice folks at the bar. Someone gave me some recommendations on food and the bartender was amazing too!For drinks, I ordered the "old osaka" which is their take on an old fashioned with tori whisky, china china and shiso honey. This drink was phenomenal!!! So flavor forward, but so well balanced. I also tried one of their rare liquors called "cor cor red" it's an Okinawa molasses rum and it was pretty dang strong and tasty. I had to try it because it's something I've never seen on a menu. The drinks were amazing and so was the food!!! For food I ordered spicy pickled cucumbers, and these skewers: wagyu beef, brussel sprouts and shisito peppers. They were all delicious! The absolute STAR OF THE SHOW though, was the "takoyaki" which are fried octopus balls. My goodness! These were so good I almost ordered a second helping. Seriously delicious! My entree was the gyudon which is a beef rice bowl and it was also really good!! The funny thing is I ate ALL of this food, all of it. I can't express enough how fun of a culinary experience this was. From great food and drinks to awesome service and ambiance. This was truly a dinner to remember and I'll visit this place every time I'm in Pittsburgh!!! Truly a 5 star experience!

Another amazing meal at Esquina! The birria tacos are always delicious - crispy, melty and full of flavor. The side of sauce and consommé are a great addition. Happy hour means $6 (as opposed to $10) house margaritas that are some of the best in town and $2 off their other cocktails. The cocktail I had today was bubbly, fruity but also earthy. So good!

This is the dining experience we have been waiting for in Pittsburgh. It all comes together so well - staff, service, atmosphere, music, cocktails and food. There is genuine hospitality here that is becoming rare to find. When we arrived, the host thanked us for coming and said they were happy to have us dining with them. Total class act. A few things to know before you go:Make a reservation. At entrance - Right side is the bar. Left side is the restaurant. They are known for their "fancy" burgers. Two in our party had them and loved them.

Came here for lunch on Mother's Day and absolutely loved it. Our server was amazing and had the best bubbly personality. Love the seating and layout of this place. My son absolutely loved his pizza, I grabbed a small bite and indeed it was good. I like that there's a separate private seating area upstairs that you can rent out for special occasions. Location was great at the Market square.

"Excellent breakfast. Highly recommend the breakfast sandwich. Service was great and the place is very comfortable."
"So I've been to Crafty a bunch of times at this point, and I have to say that it is a complete surprise of a gem. It took me a few visits before I tried the food, and I'm a little sad it took me as long as it did. Their French dip was pretty good, but I do wish that there was a horseradish sauce option. Now, of course, that's totally just my opinion because, frankly, I'm a sucker for some horseradishy beef. However, now that I've had their Mahi Mahi appetizer tacos, I don't think I'm getting anything else again. They are ahhhhmazing. The bar itself is dark and definitely has a late night spot ambiance. If you're looking for somethingto do, they do have karaoke and trivia nights. We did end up here around 4 pm after Bridgeville Day with a slew of kids and felt perfectly welcome, though. I wouldn't go with my kiddo past 6ish, but for an early dinner option, it worked just fine. I've also attended an after funeral dinner here, and the staff was wonderful and very attentive to the guests. It's a bit of an anomaly in terms of how to categorize it, but it's a big favorite here."
"This place really is the best.Since first reviewing this place a few years ago, I've always made it a point to stop here when in Pittsburgh or as a rest stop when traveling along the PA Turnpike (it's less than 5 minutes off the highway). I've been there for weekend brunch, busy Friday nights, to lazy Tuesday midday - it's always gonna be good. I feel like I've experienced enough of it to confirm that 5th star. The food is awesome. I've never had a bad meal. But seriously, just the chips - they're sturdy and thick, like the kind you find in Mexico. I've tried a variety of their tacos, including the Mexico City tacos de canasta on special. On top of some traditional delicious options like cochinita pibil, carnitas, and taco al pastor, they have some delightful vegetarian options like jackfruit and even buffalo cauliflower.Besides the awesome tacos, here are some standout items I've tried:-the Torta Ahogada at brunch - it was perfect as is, and I bet it's great as a hangover cure.-the Squash Blossom Quesadilla - I thought it would just be cheese and squash flowers, but there is something really savory and delicious that take these to another level.-the Sikil P'aak appetizer - move over, guacamole! This pumpkin seed dip is garlicky with citrus and salt that just put it over the top. While I've had some watery drinks here, the last couple of visits they have been much better. There are dozens of margaritas with any variety you could want. Other classic cocktails are available. There are also alcohol-free cocktails and other teetotaler options likes aguas frescas and tepache (fermented and spiced Mexican drink). The inside is beautiful with quotes painted on the walls. The bathroom is always clean. The staff is quick and friendly - in my experience, they all speak Spanish and at least enough English (though I found it easier to chat in Spanish a few times). The prices are fair for what you get.Definitely recommended."
"Just got two sandwiches and they were phenomenal. The people or chill , is a good vibe and nice scenery. The food is very good and fresh will recommend the family and friends."
"The fries are my favorite part about Stack'd. They also have some of the most delicious cocktails I've ever had (not pictured), so I highly recommend them. They are usually busy so there might be a little bit of a wait and food takes usually pretty long to come out as well."
"We stopped into Emiliano's ages ago when it first opened, but this was my first time back. I stopped in for lunch while running errands, on a whim. It's located in the strip mall behind the Giant Eagle Plaza in Cranberry a couple doors down from the liquor store and next to Joann Fabric- So it's pretty non-descrip & easy to miss if you don't really know that it's there. But don't let that bland exterior dissuade you. Once inside, it's a totally different vibe and it's quite a cozy little restaurant inside & nicely decorated with a nice bar area. They have a large menu. And I was pleasantly surprised that you actually get FREE WARM (!!!) tortilla chips with salsa. Most places charge for even chips & salsa now. Theirs is quite flavorful & the warm chips make a huge difference. Service is fast & friendly. Monday they had $4.50 house margaritas on the rocks. They have specials 11-3pm & I got a veggie quesadilla which came with rice & lettuce, tomatillo, cheese & sour cream on the side. I also got a small quac for my chips. I would definitely return."
"Solid service. Excellent variety in taps and cans. Football game on TVs. Good food. Friendly staff and patrons."
"My friends and I decided last minute to go out to dinner and Tapped was the choice! Glad it was as we had a delicious meal! Garret was our waiter and he was very sweet and accommodating. I ordered the Greek pizza, it was extremely flavorful with all the toppings. The other pizza we got was julie's special and it was perfectly made and we felt we had a salad with dinner. Our appetizer was the breaded Zucchini (sorry, forgot picture) but they were also delicious! Anytime you're in Greensburg, please check out Tapped, you won't be disappointed!!"
"This Mexican restaurant appears to have quite the mixed reviews, but based on my visit in December 2021, I am giving a rating of 5 stars, and I plan to return in the future. When my husband and I entered the restaurant, the seating hostess kindly greeted us and immediately walked us to a booth. Soon, our waiter arrived, and he took our order for drinks. He promptly brought out our drinks and took our orders for our appetizers and entrees. Throughout the meal, the waiter spoke nicely to us, calling my husband "friend" and me "lady," and he brought out drink refills without our having to ask. At the end of our meal, the waiter brought out an accurate bill and sincerely thanked us for coming. Here are my reviews for the foods:Chips and salsa - 5 stars - The chips and salsa were automatically brought out for free. They were fresh, and the salsa had a medium spiciness. Tableside guacamole - 5 stars - This guacamole was prepared freshly at the tableside. (I apologize to the employee for my looking at my phone a lot rather than looking at him.) The ingredients included avocados, cilantro, onions, lime juice, and seasonings. I appreciate that the employee remembered to leave out the tomatoes that my husband dislikes. My husband commented that the guacamole smelled the best ever, and the guacamole tasted excellent too.Chicken fajitas - 4.5 stars - My husband is difficult to impress, but he enjoyed this entree. The chicken strips were cooked thoroughly and were still juicy. Also included were onions, bell peppers, and a side plate of rice, refried beans, guacamole, and sour cream.Shrimp quesadilla - 5 stars - The quesadilla was a large size, so it was definitely sufficient for an entree. The tortilla was filled with extremely gooey cheese, several shrimps, onions, and bell peppers."
"We had a fantastic experience at Walnut Grill, Wexford. The happy hour prices for beverages were great, and we enjoyed a couple of glasses of Cabernet. The food was equally impressive--both the salmon and the Smashburger were outstanding. Our server, Allison, provided awesome service throughout the evening. The atmosphere was understated yet comfortable, and the acoustics made for a pleasant dining experience. We will definitely be back again soon!"
"I absolutely love this place! I've been eating here since they originally opened the Wexford location years ago. Everything on the menu is authentic and delicious. And the staff is alway so friendly. I highly recommend Monday taco nights at the bar. One dollar beef or chicken tacos and three dollar margaritas. You can beat it! And they have multiple locations all over the city and suburbs."
"I've been here a handful of times over the years, my first review. not sure i've had anything but their wings. maybe next time.not a large interior space, mayb 2/3 restaurant, 1/3 bar. pittsburgh-sports-themed interior. draft list was just okay.i was here for a late lunch on a thursday afternoon. the place was all but empty on my arrival and service was prompt and attentive.while the wings could be a bit bigger, the chix quality was good and they were cooked to crispy perfection (without asking for xtra crispy)....the wings come pretty wet without having to ask for itthey just might be the best buffalo style hot wings i have had...certainly in recent memory anyway. nothing fancy with the sauce itself (guessing a franks redhot base) but some decent heat.4.75 rating (size) for the wings themselves. overall rating is more like a 4.25."
"House of 1000 beers is AMAZING! I honestly have never had a bad experience whether having a drink and food there OR getting it to go. The pizza is ALWAYS consistently good. I order extra cheese and you can ALWAYS tell they put it on. The poutine is amazingly good too with a huge portion. Love the staff and this spot. Lucky it's so close to me!"
"Yay they're open again! But more so, I should have updated this long ago.Service improved by leaps and bounds since my initial review. It's a great neighborhood spot and you can't go wrong with Prosecco on tap!"
"Drinks were great! Dirty Santa was basically a twist on a dirty shirely - so yummy! Was busy but still was able to get our drinks in a timely manner so deff recommend this place for a fun festive drinks night! A little on the pricey side though, you're definitely also paying for the experience."
"This is such an underrated restaurant in South Side! I've never heard of this place before and stumbled upon it in my search for restaurants in South Side. The food menu is quite big and is sure to have something for everyone. They do not take reservations but my group of 5 had no issues getting seated right away on a Friday night. I tried the ahi tuna wrap and the detox retox cocktail. Both were delicious! The wrap was way more flavorful than i expected and the sweet potato tots I got on the side with it were phenomenal. Everyone in my group loved what they got as well and we were all quite impressed with this place. Definitely will be coming back again!"
"Stopped by for wing night and had a great first experience! Ordered the Nashville hot wings that came with pickles on top and the seasonal special which was advertised as a bourbon bacon apple jam...ate more like a Thai glaze though which was still solid. I need to go back bc I found out after that they will add ghost pepper powder to add heat which is right up my alley. The steamed burgers sound super interesting as well! The bartenders were awesome as well...super friendly and attentive!"
"My wife and I searched outside downtown Pittsburgh for a unique experience. We stumbled upon this place and gave it a shot. Wow!!! So glad we did. Such an awesome place to eat and the staff was tremendous. The food was delicious and tried Iron City Light Mango for the first time!! Next time we are in Pittsburgh we will definitely be going back. PS - parking is across the street!!"
"Best barbecue around! Cool spot, live music, nice outdoor space, even better food! You order at a counter and then pick up your food at the same spot. Ribs and brisket are incredible. My husband only orders the brisket sandwich now because it's his favorite. The wings are to die for - smoked and then flash fried. They're $1 on Wednesdays! The Mac n cheese has such a good, peppery flavor. I recently had the pulled pork Mac n cheese and it was incredible. The homemade sauces are really good too. One time they had pulled chicken tacos as a special and they were so delish! I've never had a bad experience and will always go back when I have a craving for bbq!"
"Stoke's always has a nice beer selection on tap and plenty in the cooler to choose from. You can either eat in the bar area or the dining room - we prefer the bar area. The bartender is your server so if the bar is busy, sometimes they don't get to the tables as often as you might like but you can walk up and get their attention. Their food has been consistent over the few times we've been there. I really enjoyed the roast beef wrap which is nicely grilled and crispy on the outside. Their coleslaw and broccoli salad were both super good! We also tried the green fries which come with artichokes, pesto, and brie cheese that were very good. They get a nice mix of old/young patrons and the vibe is laid back."
"Stopped by here after the Pirates game. We really enjoyed the outdoor patio and our service was prompt and quick. The drinks were solid and it was nice to get in and out of here quickly based on our plans."
"Okay so update- I posted my original review two days ago (it was sitting my drafts for a while and I finally got around to posting it). I went to tako torta yesterday and it's different now! It's now a sit down with a menu (before you would order at the front and pick up your own food). The menu is a little bit different too, so the build your own bowls that I was talking about are no longer on there :( anyways, I got the chips and guac and the Carnitas taco, the shrimp taco and the fish taco and as usual it was all delicious! All the tacos were sooo flavorful. With the new menu, you can order different types of tacos, which I love! My friends actually thought the food was better since the change! Tako torta is one of my go to spots!"
"Stopped here on our way to Sharon Motor Speedway. Excellent food, service and atmosphere!! Will definitely go back. Five stars."
