"I've loved this shop since it opened! If you're in the mood for a delicious French treat this is the place to stop. I honestly think these are the best macarons in Pittsburgh! All the interactions I have had with staff have been very positive - always friendly and helpful! For my niece's first birthday I bought 4 dozen macarons to make a Mac tower and it was perfect!Definitely recommend this shop!"

"What a great, old school bakery with a huge variety of baked goods! This bakery is super cute and small, but has tons of products! I wanted to try a homemade sweet treat, and I had a hard time picking what to get! I ended up going with the red velvet whoopie pie and a box of heart sugar cookies for my family. The workers were friendly and helpful! I tried the red velvet whoopie pie and it was super delicious! Love the flavor of the cake and the buttercream icing. However, the top side of the whoopie pie was dry. I did get it in the afternoon, and it felt like it had been sitting out for a bit. Maybe wrapping it in plastic wrap would help keep it more moist! Other than that, I really enjoyed it!If you need cakes, cupcakes, or anything in-between, this is a great bakery to check out!"
"Let's start with this: There has never been a disappointment with anything I've bought at La Gourmandine. For holidays I pre-order, but on Saturday, I naively thought arriving at 9am I would avoid the rush. Wrong! There was a line out the door. The parking lot was jammed (it is small). But I did make my way to the front quickly and they had the quiche Lorraine I was seeking. It was delicious and rich, but anyone considering it should expect to pay a little more for that goodness. I would have loved to buy more and will return when it's less busy. If you order in advance, there is a side door where staff will hand out your pastries."
"The sandwich I had was good, but it was nothing great or special, especially for the price. I first heard about this place on the TV shows that featured it, and I always thought that if I made it back to Pittsburgh, I'd like to go. Now, I'm disappointed. The bread was good. The prices were a bit high. The quality of the product was ok. I don't feel bad that we went. I also never will feel the need to go back. The bar was old. The barstools are a much mash of discomfort. They don't take credit or debit cards. It's strictly cash only. They do have an ATM on site, but there's a $2.75 surcharge. They also have minimal amenities; plastic forks and paper plates. This place was more fun when I saw it on TV and anticipated what it would be like. Now that I've been there, the fun is gone. They're still trying to relive the glory days when the mills were booming. Those days are over. Unless you like the nostalgia of an old building with an old bar in a town that is barely hanging on, and with minimal comforts, go somewhere else. It just isn't worth the trip or the cost to go here. You can find places at least as good nearly anywhere."
"I was so impressed by the food here! To find authentic Greek food with all the ingredients freshly made in house is almost unheard of. But to find a Greek place that makes their own gluten-free pita and bread: that's on a whole other level. The flavor was wonderful in everything and I would definitely eat here again. Service is a little bit slow, but totally worth it, because everything is made fresh."
"Delicious! Maybe the best cinnamon roll ever. So nice to have a vegan option! Service was good too."
"Amazing. I would give 6 stars if I could. We had the cafe cater one of our meetings at work. I have never had a "kolache" before and wow, pretty amazing. I had sausage and jalapeno which was absolutely amazing. The team has not stopped talking about breakfast. I recommend. Thanks Cafe Kolache."
"The mochi buns, the pork buns, the cupcakes...I could go on and on.I've visited this Chinese bakery on multiple occasions and have always had a great experience. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The shop is cute and filled with nothing but yum. Some of the best tasting treats around. This is one of my go-to places when I want to pick up a special treat either for myself or others."
"Tried the chocolate napoleon. Very good, flaky but just way too chocolaty sweet. And mind you, I love me some good chocolate."
"Good L'oven Cookie Shop is local and family-owned, and it is my all-time favorite cookie business. Good L'oven bakes and sells dozens of traditional and unique flavors of cookies, including almond torte, caramel apple pie, cappuccino crunch, ginger snap, peanut-butter buckeye, pineapple upside-down, s'mores, etcetera. Good L'oven also sells dozens of other foods for breakfast, lunch, and catering, such as sandwiches and chicken salad.Since 2021, I have been a customer here as well as at their other location in Bellevue and through their website. All of the employees have promptly and politely served me.I have tried so many foods from here: cookies (bananas foster, brownie, chocolate chip, creme brulee, mint chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter, Pittsburgh pothole, Reese's peanut butter, salted sea turtle, samoa, snickerdoodle, steel city, strawberry pretzel salad, sugar sparkle, Twix), potato-cheese pierogies, macaroni salad, etcetera. All of these foods were fresh and tasted delicious."
"I never knew about this place until I researched Gluten-free options in the Robinson area. It's a bit off the beaten path, but so worth the drive just a few minutes from Settlers Ridge in Robinson. It's a tiny spot, but very cute with some indoor and outdoor seating to eat there. I was more interested in their GF baked goods and let me say that the macaroons did not disappoint!! Chocolate, Raspberry, Chocolate Pistachio and Vanilla; I don't think it's possible to pick a favorite since they were all so good! I couldn't even tell the difference of them being GF. The owner is a quiet and soft spoken man, but very polite and nice. It was busy this afternoon, which is so nice to see patrons supporting a small, local business like this one. I can't wait to go back and try his weekly changing food (lunch) menu. Hello, he is serving avocado fries this week?!"

If Sesame Street occurred in France, Le Monstre de Biscuit would go Merde de Singe for these cookies. I probably walked by this place dozens of times during my travels in and out of Pittsburgh, but never purchased until my most recent trip. I finally decided to splurge and get some of these cookies. My macaron knowledge isn't that great, and I even DVR'd a "How it's Made" episode so I can try and understand WHY these things are so damn pricey. After we already ate the batch, I learned that they are originally Italian which explains why they're so good. The "cookie" parts are made with meringue (egg whites) which are prepped and baked. The precision is key, and so is the filling. I don't plan on trying to make these on my own. That would be a disaster. The woman selling me the cookies explained to me the length of the process the baker follows, and when I realized there was a line forming behind me with the now Florida Man inquiring about the cookies, I turned and apologized and they understood and re-assured me the purchase would be worth my while. I was skeptical, but I doubt they were paid endorsers as the elaborate scheme of buying airline tickets to get into the terminal, wait for someone to show interest, then coax them into buying was probably not a logical plan. There's no getting around it, these cookies are expensive! I totally have thought about it many times and I finally decided to do it. Maybe it was the flights at Vino Volo or the nostalgia at being "home", but I felt like it was the right thing to do on that day, and I was not wrong.I got an assortment of cookies from just plain chocolate and raspberry, to the more exotic pear rosemary and white chocolate basil. All were delicious in their own right, even the "Black and Gold" which has a peanut butter filling and was similar in flavor to a tagalong. These delicate cookies are hard to share and I found it best to eat all at once instead of trying to bite and have the cookie crumble into the bathwater. TMI? sorry 'bout that. It eats like the best flavored cream puff you can fit in your mouth (yes you can, don't act like you can't).Pro Tip - Pick up one of these cookies as if you're picking up a delicate faberge egg or you'll make a huge dent in the cookie. Some people can be so unrefined.Since there was a clear freshness to the cookies, we decided to eat them quickly instead of saving for a latter day (saint). Man up and buy some and I Believe you won't regret that decision. My only regret is that I didn't take the leap sooner.

I was reading that the toasted almost torte is an absolute must when visiting Pittsburgh. Yea. Skip the sandwich with French fries on it. Just get this. Get ten of these Jrs. Stop reading this. Book a flight. Rent a car. Get down here. Do it now. It's that good. That's all I'm going to say about it. #eatpittsburgh #almondtorte

I don't know how this tiny French pastry shop has the best almond croissant I've ever had in the world, but it does. Everything in this place is made with care and is truly the best French pastry bakery I've ever been to, including Paris. On top of that the people who work there are kind And have helped me out on numerous occasions.

Great neighborhood sports bar. Known for their oversized, delicious hoagies. Located on Monongahela Avenue in Swissvale. They bake their own bread and put together the most delicious creations. They have a "Super Battleship" great for sharing, a "Battleship" measuring 27 inches long, a "Destroyer" measuring around 13 inches long and a "Torpedo" great for an individual. Eat in and take out options available. Great spot to grab a delicious sandwich and watch your favorite Pittsburgh sports team!

An extraordinary Greek bakery with a passion for sharing great food and culture.I love everything about how this café is laid out, it's comfortable, cheerful, and a great place for conversation. There are many traditional foods here that I'm interested in experiencing, and they are all prepared with amazing craft and care. Not just a bakery, for example they serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday.I had a wonderful time talking with the staff, they were helpful and made some excellent recommendations. They were also generous in giving out samples.

We ordered an apple pie, pumpkin pie and chocolate cherry loaf for Thanksgiving and oh my gosh. It was absolutely the best apple pie anybody had ever had. It was so good that I was packaging up slices and forcing it upon relatives. It was fresh and tasted homemade. The apples were thin slices with absolutely no gross goup inside. It was tart and sweet, tender and crisp. The crust was SO good. The flavoring and sweetness was literal perfection. The pumpkin pie was the best pumpkin pie too. Smooth and silky, perfectly spiced. Incredible texture. It was absolutely amazing. The chocolate cherry loaf was bursting with flavor and chocolate chips. So good. The best part? It was REAL food. We are very particular about our food and this was 1 of the rare places that actually met our expectations.

"Such a cute little bakery. Everyone was so friendly. I was there during Dia de Los Muertos(Day of the dead) and they had the cutest Disney's Coco themed Ofrenda set up. They also have maybe the best churros I've ever had. I highly recommend checking this fantastic bakery out."
"I stopped by here a couple of Sundays ago now with my wife and twins for our morning coffee. Every Sunday we try to hit up a new local coffee shop and on this Sunday we decided to go to Crazy Horse Coffee. This shop is located in a strip mall off of 19 by the meadows. The inside of this shop consists of a place to order with a cooler display case next to it and then a number of tables for seating. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a large coconut latte since I couldn't find a special latte that suited my tastes. Then my wife went with a s'mores latte and also added in a broccoli quiche. We had everything and were on our way in about 5 minutes after ordering. My coffee here ended up tasting pretty good as the milk and coffee paired nicely together while the flavor of the coconut was there without being overpowering. My wife also really enjoyed both her s'mores latte as well as the broccoli quiche. The bottom line for me is that I would head here again in the future. Everything that we had here was good and I just wished that they had a more fun seasonal/special drink to my taste."
"Gotta admit this is one of my favorite bakeries in Pittsburgh. Located right in the heart of Highland Park, this bakery is easily accessible by bus, car, or on foot. You can smell the delicious baked goods before you even walk in, making your taste buds dance right away.I've been there a few times now and they have varying baked goods, but a lot consistent ones also. The first time I went I got the cannoli, lemon bar, and a buckeye to split with some friends Oh my they were DELICIOUS!! Next time I went I got a cinnamon roll because I herd they were legendary....and they so were! I studied for the first time in there a few weeks ago and it was okay. It got pretty loud since it's a small sitting area. But, I'll still go back!"
"Are you a fan of traditional deli's? Well, here's one you MUST check out. Couple weeks ago, I stopped in during a work trip and I was in love with this absolutely super cute spot. They have some of the BEST meats. From fully loaded salads to wholesome sandwiches/wraps to easily the best cannoli I've had, you will truly enjoy your lunch. They're really a friendly group and I would highly recommend checking out their Washington/Canonsburg location! : Bollywood salad, The Chelsea, The Marco and a chocolate cannoli!"
"Crumbl Cookies is a national chain that was founded in 2017. This franchise in Cranberry Township opened more recently. Crumbl sells a selection of cookies and ice creams, and the flavors rotate weekly. Last week, I visited this franchise for the first time. As soon as I entered the business, several employees who were working hard in the back shouted, "Welcome to Crumbl!" To the side, I saw touchscreens for ordering. I felt surprised that the selection of cookies was only six flavors--milk chocolate chip, honey bun, cowboy cookie (oatmeal, chocolate chips, coconut, and pecans), chocolate crumb (Oreo), raspberry doughnut, and classic pink sugar. I also felt surprised that the prices started at $4.70 per cookie. I considered ordering also ice cream, but three of the six flavors were out of stock. I ordered a 4-pack box of cookies for $15.28. Several minutes later, an employee brought my box to the front, and he opened it up to show me the cookies. He told me thank you and to have a nice day.At first glance, the cookies seem to be pricey, but they are a very large size, and they are baked minutes earlier so are very fresh. Here are my reviews for the cookies:Milk chocolate chip - 4 stars - My husband ate this cookie. He described it as "pretty good." The cookie contained large chunks of chocolate.Raspberry doughnut - 5 stars - Both my husband and I ordered this flavor of cookie. This cookie had a large center of raspberry preserves, and it was topped with pieces of doughnut and powdered sugar. We would definitely order this cookie again in the future.Classic pink sugar - 4 stars - This sugar cookie was very thick, and it was topped with almond frosting that tasted very sweet."
"Really enjoyed a recent visit to Amy's and trying new fare! Things I tried in order of preference:- Red bean mooncake- Egg tart- Oreo Mochi- Mango pancake The staff and Amy herself were very hospital and personable! You can tell she is passionate about her business and made us feel at home. I look forward to returning and trying more, especially some of the savory items. I literally want to experience a sample of everything. Got back in line for seconds :)"
"What a great family and homemade food spot! We arrived during a busy holiday morning breakfast rush and opted to sit outside - so we had a bit of a wait. No problem!! There is a cute gift shop and general store attached. We quickly spent our 15 minute wait browsing some great items!Once we were seated our server was fast and attentive. Coffee was delicious and refilled often. Food came quickly and was excellent - lots of choices all fresh and homemade! The bread....OMG the bread!! Get the breads! I had rye and it was fantastic. My companion and I each had large breakfasts and coffee. We left full and happy - for under $15! Service was on point and the restaurant was immaculately clean."
"Accidentally missed an exit and ended up stopping here for dinner. Nice tradeoff as we enjoyed our visit and left with a refreshed start after a satisfying meal. Bought pies to go and other goodies from the bakery. Service was quick and friendly. Menu offers light meals to full blown family style feasts.Convenient parking and reasonable prices for the portions served."
"Just when I thought Breadworks had peaked, Focaccia happened! Every night of the week, they make different specialty Focaccia that will knock your socks off. For example, Jalapeno and Cheddar Focaccia on Wednesday night. Fiesta Focaccia on Tuesday. This stuff is outrageously good, really gourmet, and very satisfying. You can add ingredients if you choose, just heat it up in the oven for a few minutes. Oh, I still love the other breads. And they removed the $10 minimum on credit cards. You can also have bread delivered, or pick it up curbside. I don't care for the shorter hours they instituted for Covid, but I guess I can't have everything."
"Lincoln Bakery originally opened in 1945. Today, this bakery sells breads, cookies, muffins, donuts, danishes, pies, cupcakes, cakes, etcetera. Prices are reasonable.I shopped at this bakery in the late morning on a Saturday. Many other customers were standing in line, so I waited several minutes for my turn to order. Some of the shelves were already empty. Furthermore, I did not know what some of the baked goods were because most were not labeled. I recommend that the employees add little signs with the names of the baked goods.I was a first-time customer, so I ordered a sample of the baked goods: a vanilla wafer, fruity danish, carrot cake, pecan roll, snickerdoodle cookie, and raisin bread. The total price was reasonable. An employee kindly packaged my baked goods in a box, rang up my purchase, and thanked me.At home, my husband and I ate the baked goods. We thought that they were fresh and tasted good."
"Detailed Review: Cookies! All of them were really good. We preferred the blueberry and the lemon over the Oreo but that was just preference. The Buck: 4.5/5Really good sandwich. Didn't get to mushy on the drive home. Figgy Piggy: 4/5 The texture of the bacon next to the jam and cheese was really nice. Overall, will definitely be back. The people working were super helpful and sweet! Can't wait to try more things on the menu!"
"I have always seen the sign for this place but have never stopped in so when I went to pick up my pie kit for an event I was pleasantly surprised to see how big it actually was inside and the variety of items (besides pie) that you could get here! Of course I had to pick up a couple of extra goodies that caught my eye while I was there. I loved that they had mini tarts versions of their pies so you could do your own taste test before you committed to a whole pie. Happy that they also serve up coffee drinks which is perfect since they go hand and hand with pastries. I will definitely be back! The pie place makes these great kits that give you everything pre-prepped and ready to put together and bake your own pies. Update on the apple pie kit I made for the Yelp event - I brought it to work and they guys crushed it in 20 minutes - it was delicious! I will definitely pick that up again it was awesome!"
"Super cute store! First time stopping in on a Saturday and there were many options to choose from. Place was clean, welcoming, & staff was friendly! Huge Donut assortment! Everything was wonderful! Brownies & donuts are huge in size!"
"This is a beautiful cafe with amazing offerings and great regulars! If it wasn't so far for me, I would be here every day!Love love love the matcha bubble tea!"
"Awesome bread and sandwiches! It's close to my office and we visit whenever we are in the office. Tons of flavor and great ingredients."
"What's better then a nice fresh donut? Not much right?Head over to Dana's They have mostly raised donut varieties with glaze as well as maple frosting , chocolate sprinkles etcSo sweet and yummyGreat homemade cookiesChocolate chip with nuts is my favorite Dana's also has pies I saw fruit as well as sweet potato That's for my next visit Nice clean shop super friendly service Fantastic prices I mean really .30 cents for a nice size cookie how can you go wrong? You can't so go get a donut and or cookies to enjoy Easy street parking"
"It's true that Party Cake Bakery changed ownership a year or so ago. The new owners are doing their best to keep this landmark business operating. I know they, like many other small businesses have had staffing problems. At one point the head baker left and the replacement left a lot to be desired. Rather than increase prices the owners reduced the size of the servings .. this was a mistake that they have since corrected. I have been stopping often to buy breads, donuts, cookies and danish pastries and they were back to the size and taste I grew up with. I suggest giving them another chance. Staffing is still an issue so call ahead to make sure they are open when you wish to come by."
"Hello my dear earthlings, I would like to bring your esteemed attention to this French bakery in PA. I have had French pastries before but this is so far the best I had. My brother introduced this gem and whenever I visit him, this is my first stop. The staff is always very welcoming and friendly to have us there. All their pastries and croissants are so fresh and ready to go. It always smells heavenly inside this store and there is always a line to get their hands on these. So make sure to get there as early as possible. Our all time favorites are the Choco Almond croissant (Croissant aux amandes), Madeleine, and many others that I dont recall the names. If you are in the area and want some sweet treat, this is your place."
"Cookies are always made fresh and served with a smile! Thanks for the sweet treats and Happy New Year!"
"We stopped to try Madsen Donuts for the first time today and definitely recommend them! We were able to try 11 out of the 12 donuts that they carry (the cinnamon sugar sticks weren't available yet). We arrived before they opened and were quickly in and out. It was really cool to see how patient and kind the owners were being with their teenage staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The donuts themselves were fresh and delicious. A lot of donuts in the area are greasy and leave that film in your mouth after you finish eating them, but Madsen's oil must be very clean and the right temperature because there was no oil flavor or oil residue. They seem to stick with the tried and true donuts and don't have the same variety you might find at other places, but what they do have are definitely keepers. I thought I'd miss all of the unique flavors, but it was actually kind of nice not to be overwhelmed with options. I've never liked jelly donuts, but I think their jelly donut might be my favorite out of them all! The most impressive are the glazed. Normally a glazed is the last people go for because they just seem boring in comparison, but these were literally perfection. We both agreed we'd go back and just be happy with the glazed. Their vanilla icing is a marshmallow based which is really fun. The chocolate icing is the perfect sweetness and dries to a hard shell. They don't skimp on any of the toppings either which is usually my biggest complaint. The cake is a great texture and the raised are airy and light. Looking forward to going back again!"
"I haven't personally been to Loafers Bread, but my sister-in-law brought us some cinnamon rolls from this spot, and they were really good! They were packaged, and traveled a day to get to us, and they were still really tasty; so, I'd guess they're even better fresh. The next time I'm visiting the area, I'd like to go check this spot out in person for myself to try some more of their delicious baked goods!"
"This is an amazing little deli/breakfast nook in Sharpsburg. Do yourself a favor stop in for breakfast or lunch. Leave with a box of donuts and homemade soup to go. The people are wonderful the food is delicious we love it every time we go"
"Bread is incredibly fresh and they have a wide variety of sandwiches. I'm a personal fan of the half a sandwich half soup combo. The cinnamon bread also makes great French toast!"
