"We first went to their coffee shop 4 doors down. You need to go there and bring your coffee back if you would like some. The food was good, except rice was cold, and pricey ($17/lunch). Very cold with ceiling fans blowing and unable to change. Other customers left due to the cold. We enjoyed it, but there are better places, including their coffee shop!"
"Went to Soba on Valentine's Day and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! Service was friendly and we were seated immediately. They have a nice selections of specialty cocktails and extensive drink selection. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, with a fireplace and unique lighting. It feels cozy and warm and is a great place for a date night or a dinner with friends. We had the special Four course Tasting Menu. The Sea Bass was the best I have ever had! You cannot go wrong with whatever you choose! We hope to be back soon!"

"Hit this place while visiting Pitt for a student tour. Entry Is a bit misleading as it is pretty small but there is a decent eating space upstairs. The donut was fantastic; spicy tuna, tuna and salmon with avocado. So good! The other sushi (can't remember what we ordered) was also excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful in finding the best combo for our first visit. Won't be our last visit."
"If you live in Pittsburgh this place isn't a secret but it feels like it when you first walk in. Drinks are always amazing, the food is great. And the people here are even better than that. The vibe is perfect. Very clean and well maintained inside. I usually get sushi of some kind. Have had the pizza here before. Very good. Their whisky selection is excellent. All the bartenders are good. Very partial to Bartender Mike's Sazerac."
"It's an unassuming gem. Located in a strip mall, this is some of the best sushi around. The dinosaur egg app is the best!! I get it every single time I go. Everything is tasty and they have a large selection."
"Best Thai in the city. I've tried a lot of Thai places in Pittsburgh, but this one beats them all. Any noodle dish I've had was outstanding, and the dumplings are always the best. Takeout and eating in are both great options."
"I definitely keep coming back for the customer service. I'm giving 4 stars because I don't see the hype about the food tbh. I feel like I could get very similar food at any restaurant like this. But the customer service is wow 10/10. The girl at the counter recognized me and remembered my name after just one visit. She also remembered my previous order and applauded me for trying something new each time. She brought out some spices to me and explained how her mom grows/ferments these at their house and showed me exactly how to eat them with each type of food. She is very knowledgeable. I love being able to discuss things like that with the workers. I get to understand a little more about the business and it makes me want to keep coming back. Apparently it's great late night after the bars so I will give it a try late night soon!"
"I hadn't been here in years. My brother and I went yesterday for lunch. They have a lunch special from 11a-3p. He ordered two rolls and I ordered the sashimi deluxe lunch, which was 9pc of sashimi. I ordered two of them and white tuna a la cart and octopus a la cart.Everything came out timely. She forgot I ordered a second sashimi lunch, so I had to ask for it again. The salad was delicious and fresh, the dressing light. I liked the salad. The sashimi here was pretty small and thinly sliced. I didn't know it would be a sliver of octopus for $7. That's too much for what you get. Though everything was fresh, it was all very small. My sister wanted a rainbow roll. It was one of the smallest rolls I've ever seen.Probably won't be back for a while. Not impressed."
"This is the second time I've had Fun Asian Bistro. I was visiting my friend for the night and I feel like monroeville doesn't have that many great sushi options. On ubereats, this place was only available to us by pick up but that's fine. I'm kind of glad we picked it up because I got to see how absolutely shady this place looks on the outside. I think it can definitely throw people off but PLEASE do NOT judge a book by its cover and let outward appearances fool you. This sushi place rocks! My friend and I got a ton of rolls, we love sushi a lot. I could eat it multiple times a week. I can't tell you the exact rolls I got but I can tell you that everything tastes fresh and delicious. We always get tuna and salmon in the rolls we choose. Some of my favorite rolls included pepper tuna which we got and they do NOT skimp on the pepper. The sashimi tastes great, especially the salmon with its buttery texture. We got two special rolls that were packed full of fish and tasted lovely. We also ordered the crispy rice with tuna and I enjoyed that from taste to texture. The jalapeños were an added bonus. Trust me, you will not be left hungry. If you're in the Penn Hills/Monroeville/Murraysville area and you love sushi, you definitely need to try this place!"
"I've ordered takeout from Katana a handful of times, and my experience has always been a good one. The food is fresh, hot, and very tasty. The Crispy Roll is my favorite sushi item. Try adding asparagus to it, and thank me later :)The hibachi is very flavorful, and portions are good. Some highlights were the chicken and steak hibachi, and the chicken katsu. If you try it you won't be disappointed!"
"I've had a few friends say this is their favorite restaurant in all of Southside. So when helping a friend move I suggested that we go here. Or maybe she's just suggested that we go there either or it was a good choice. We walked in and we got seated right away and we just missed the lunch special. While slightly disappointed the full menu was still available and it looked very good.My friend knew right away what she wanted since she has lived in the south side and comes here lot. I need the little bit more time to look through all the pages. I was pretty impressed with the different options that Lin's had. And I put it on my list to come again to try different options from the menu, after the food was tasted of course.I went with the eggplant tofu with a side of noodles and she went with one of the Bento boxes. All I know from her bento box is that she got some Sesame crispy tofu and it was delicious and I will be getting that the next time that I come.My dish came on a plate kind of like a fajita. It was very steamy and sizzling for a lot longer than I would have liked because it was so hot I couldn't eat it. And then I also felt bad because the steam was just blowing into my friend's face. She was a good sport and said that she liked it and she said it was like a steam bath with delicious flavors. But it still made me feel a little bit bad. The eggplant was cooked perfectly and all the vegetables were delicious. The sauce was light and did not overtake everything and didn't give me that sticky feeling of heaviness that some Asian sauces do. I think that I would have liked crispy tofu instead of just the regular tofu because it probably would have stayed together easier. But all in all the meal was very good.I look forward to trying more things on the menu especially their sushi and their bento box. And a little taste of that Sesame tofu has had me hooked and waiting to go back soon to get some of that. If you're in the Southside try it out."
"Food and service was amazing. It was my best friends birthday when we visited and Emily served us promptly and made our night out special. She brought out our appetizers as they were ready, which we loved! It gave us a chance to take our time eating and talk to one another. Next came our mains, 2 sushi towers, one for myself and the birthday girls came out in a really cute Chanel inspired decorated tower. I suggest you visit if you are in town. All the apps were great but the jalapeño appetizer is so so good!"

Admittedly I have had this place on my bucket list for quite a while, but with their hours only in the evening on the weekdays I hadn't had the opportunity to visit. Luckily, we were out this last weekend visiting some popup Christmas bars, and we got hungry. I immediately suggested we try bae baes. Everyone in our group does not eat meat, and are adventurous eaters, so it seemed like a perfect opportunity. We arrived were told where to sit and given waters. You order through QR codes. I typically really like doing this, but both of our parties were having some issues with the ordering. I picked my food handed the phone over to have my husband to add his and complete it and went to the bathroom. When I got out, I was certain he would be done, and we would be waiting. He wasn't. Each time he'd hit complete order we kept getting an error code to try again and having to go back and add all the items over. I would have thought that it was just us, but my brother and his GF were also having the issue, except his finally went through but it appeared to be duplicated. He went to the kitchen to make sure they only received one order, and he was good to go. We were still trying to complete ours. When finally, ours went through their food was delivered which sucked since now we were watching them eat.We waited not too long for our food, but by then, the other half of our party was done eating. This was the worst part of the experience. The best part was the food. We ordered Yum Yum Cauliflower with Maple Gochujang to share and I ordered the spicy sesame tofu stir fry, with tender green salad and daikon radish slaw, and rice. Phenomenal! Food was excellent. The entire party agreed the food was very good. The cauliflower dish was so perfectly crisp, and the sauce was tangy sweet and spicy, wonderful combination. You would not think you were eating vegetables. My main dish was so just as good if not better. The seasonings and balanced flavors were about perfect. The sides were not afterthoughts and the rice was outstanding. The interior of the restaurant was adequate. It seemed clean, which is the most important thing. It was kind of cold with the door very close to the seating areas. Also, they automatically add 18% gratuity to each check. I am ok with this in a way, but also not in another way. If you want an additional 18% then increase your prices, pay your employees more and accept no tips. The auto tip is ridiculous considering a tip is supposed to be based on your service experience. Our service was fine, so no issue with giving the tip, but we didn't give it, it was forced.. The food easily gets 5 stars! The atmosphere, issues with the ordering system, and automatic tip, 3 stars.

We've been to Soba several times previously and enjoyed it a lot. But kept forgetting to write a review. This time we only took a picture of the appetizers - crispy tofu and spicy pork lettuce wraps. Dinner was so good we ate it before we could take photos! Our server was on it and checked on us periodically. Great space (a little dark and could use a little more lighting) with a cool vibe! Give it a try if you haven't been here yet.

The sushi always tastes fresh, is made quickly, and easily available on a bunch of delivery apps. To my surprise, the poke bowl was actually pretty good size and filling. The House special bowl has both tuna and salmon, which were tasty and fresh. There was a good amounts of veggies in a savory mild spicy sauce. The sushi was tasty. The steeler roll was my favorite. The shrimp tempura was well made and gave a good crisp. The seared part of the overlying salmon was fine but didn't add much or make a noticeable difference. The Mount Everest roll was good too but it was almost too much to appreciate all the different things in the roll.

Real talk: I went on a date here with a funny, witty, beautiful person...we talked for hours and never got bored, it was intoxicating.I'm not tryna brag, I'm just tryna keep it real. It's pretty much impossible for me to be unbiased in reviewing this local watering hole. This place is maybe the fanciest you can go and still call yourself a "dive bar". While it does have cheap 'n crispy brews like IC Light...it also has delightfully bougie cocktails, including my favorite cocktail of all time: penicillin. Of which I drank many! The bar was rowdy and bustlin' but the drinks just kept comin'. It was light when I stepped in here, and dark when I came out.I hope you have half as good of a time as I had here, dear reader.

4.5 stars. K Asian Bistro restaurant is located in a strip mall. Please see my attached photos for the menu in May 2024. Customers may either eat in the dining room or order online for pickup. In the past few years, my husband and I have occasionally eaten meals at K Asian Bistro. The employees kindly speak with us, and they promptly seat us, take our orders, and bring our beverages and foods. In my previous review, I rated the tuna tartar trio, Thai-style rangoon, chicken hibachi, and salmon hibachi as 5 stars each. For our most recent visit, we ordered tuna tartar again (5 stars), the salmon martini starter (5 stars), the hibachi steak bento box with a spring roll (4.5 stars), and the chicken hibachi bento box with pork gyoza (4 stars). Please note that the bento boxes also came with a soup, salad, California roll, and white rice. One suggestion for improvement is to fix the broken cold-water handle in the women's bathroom.

Fastest service at a restaurant that I've been to in a while. It was slow at the time but that doesn't always mean fast service. The price was good for what we got and I'm looking forward to exploring their menu more.

Favorite place for late night good food! The staff is always friendly and kind. Parking can be a bit rough but it is manageable! Overall my favorite place for a good, late night filling food. The seafood wontons are absolutely amazing, I highly recommend!

"Very good Chinese food for both spicy and mild pallets. Great protein to vegetable ratio, and portion sizesPrices are very reasonable Also doesn't give you a stomach ache.. which is a problem I've had with other Chinese restaurants in the areaI have only eaten to go from here, cannot give an opinion on sit in experience"
"Friendly service. Always quick and served piping hot. Portions are still pretty large. Comfy booth sitting area."
"Good place for sushi when traveling for work. Bartender always on-point w/ service. Modern look. Sharing multiple photos from a few visits."
"I got the spicy smoked salmon bowl & omg!!! So fresh & quality ingredients, it was delicious! Smoked salmon, roe, edamame, chickpeas, pickled veggies, spicy mayo, and I added avocado. I'm still thinking about it. The service was really fast, even during the busy lunch time! I will say the pricing is on the more expensive side but I get it with all of the inflation we're seeing. Wouldn't stop me from going again!"
"We made a big order on Saturday's afternoon, the order was ready within 20 minutes with all the needed utensils and all the rolls were labeled perfectly, the food was so fresh and hot. All of my family members love the food, we would definitely recommend this place to any sushi lover. Those are some pictures of the order not all of it (lol)."
"Quick, pleasant, and friendly service. The food was well seasoned. The ramen was the highlight of my meal, however, it was a bit spicier than expected, but otherwise full of flavor. The interior is a bit loud when running at full capacity which made it hard to hear and talk to others. The outside looked like a great area to spend with kids. Our party had some issues navigating the qr code menu, but staff was able to take orders instead."
"Best Chinese food around! Staff is friendly whether you are eating in or getting takeout. Never had a bad experience."
"Sankalp is a family favorite. It's a great spot for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. We ordered paneer pakodas, chicken hot and sour soup, and chicken malai tikka for appetizers. Everything came piping hot and was delicious. For mains, we ordered rava dosa, masala omlette, goat biryani, and butter chicken with garlic naan. The rava dosa was crispy and the masala omlette came with toast. Both the biryani and chicken curry were good. The naan was a little tough. Overall, I would recommend this place for its attentive service and nice ambience."
"Fantastic all around - a must try! The service is amazing and very welcoming from the moment you walk in. The food is always good and very affordable for what you get. It's not fancy by any means, but definitely tasty! We love their sushi options and you can make your own bowl as well. My daughter loves the egg rolls. We haven't had anything that we did not enjoy. It's a regular stop for us."
"Stopped in for a working lunch and definitely wasn't disappointed!Somi is located in Galley Bakery Square, which features a few different restaurant windows as well as a bar. There's indoor and outdoor seating available, and when we stopped in there were plenty of dogs on the patio. Bakery Square is a pretty trendy area -- it's home of the Pittsburgh Google campus, some cool new condos, and coworking spaces -- so seeing lots of young professionals and their furry friends was no surprise. The Galley seems easy enough to navigate overall once you know what you're doing. The girl at the Somi window answered my questions, but here are a few things it might help to know before you go:1. Grab your table first. Each one has a number, so drop your stuff and then head to the window of your chosen restaurant to order. 2. Your food will be brought to your table. You don't have to hang around and wait for the order to be up -- once you give them your table number, they'll bring out your meal when it's ready.3. Leave your trash on the table. Someone is usually walking around to clear dishes. They might even get to you before you get up to leave. But you don't have to take your dishes anywhere when you're done. Now for the food itself. Somi had a pretty decent selection of Asian-inspired bowls and plates. I went with the lemongrass chicken curry, and it was SO GOOD. I haven't gotten anything at a restaurant that I liked quite that much in a long time. Came with fresh lime wedges to squeeze over the bowl, and it was *chefs kiss* delicious. We also sprang for the limeade. They had a couple of fancy flavors. They were out of the lavender (and the boba bubbles -- you can order your specialty drinks with boba if you want), but the sparkling limeade was still light and refreshing.Overall it was a lovely spring lunch on a lovely spring day. Very much recommend checking Somi out. Will have to stop back to try some of the other restaurants Galley Bakery Square has to offer!"
"To-go Raman is tough to pull off but they did a great job. Thanks! The dumpling platter is a solid pick. It's worth the price. I also ordered a rice and meat dish that was great. All in all impressed with the delivery service and would definitely order again or try in person!"
"Our go to spot since we moved to Murrysville! For Chinese food that is. The general tso's is great and egg rolls too. The staff is friendly. We call then pick it up. Pretty fast service. Highly recommend!"
"Came here for the first time for dinner on a weeknight. I ordered the hibachi tofu, friend ordered the 3 cup basil chicken, and the fried cookie dough for dessert. Total came out to $21.What's Hot- Prices. The meals are under $10 each and the price varies depending on what protein you order, which makes sense. My tofu hibachi meal is under $8. The fried cookie dough is $3.99. Reasonable and decent prices for a full meal. - Location. In Oakland and good location/easily accessible. Very good walking distance, especially for the local scene. There are a lot of students, so be prepared that certain times may be busier than others.- Layout. It's not a huge place. There are a few tables downstairs, but there is an additional floor upstairs, as well, which is helpful.- Quality. Food was yummers! Looks like the food is made on the spot, rather than sitting under a heat lamp. I definitely appreciate that and the food tastes a little better because of that. The tofu is stir fried fried tofu, but the sauce was pretty good. The dish had stir fried bean sprouts and comes with egg and veggies. When I asked the clerk what type of veggies come with the dish, he responded that it's whatever vegetables they have for that day. So it sounds like it rotates. The veggie of the day was stir fried napa cabbage, which was yummy. The egg of the day was a steamed egg, which I really liked. I also like that this place doesn't just do fried eggs. Steamed egg is healthier and it's yummy if you drizzle some sauce on it, too. It's not the best Asian food I've had. But for the price, it's pretty good. The fried cookie dough was awesome! My friend said that alone is enough to make him come back again. Haha... The cookie dough was somewhat runny and gooey, but that made it taste that much better. It's drizzled with a little powder sugar, which gives it a nice sweet kick, but isn't overpowering. - Service. Staff there are nice and answer any questions you have. - Recyclable containers. We ordered our food to eat in. Our food was served in plastic container that are recyclable and come with lids. I like that these containers can be cleaned and are reusable. I'm not certain if they don't use styrofoam containers at all. But I do like that the containers we had are plastic reusable and recyclable containers. What's Not- Location/parking. It's in the heart of downtown in Oakland. It looks like it's catered to the local crowd. Almost everyone I saw who came by ordered food to go, as well. I don't recommend coming here with a car, unless you know you can find cheap nearby parking, you're taking the busy, or you're dropping someone off. Final AnswerWould come back if I'm in the area."
"The sushi was fresh tasting & a large order of 8 pieces. The owner/chef was a nice knowledgeable guy.I expect It well be my regular stop"
"Bright, clean, and cheery! Delicious fast casual food. Fresh flavors and ingredients. Our food came out fast and well prepared."
"I understand the negative reviews from past years. BUT .. WOW ! It's not an upscale buffet, but the place deserves 5 stars from me. I enjoyed the lunch and definitely will return. I found the place clean, warm and very comfortable place to sit for a nice hot/warm meal already made, serve yourself. I love the wood decor I think it works really well. It is a small place but just enough. The sushi was very good crab meat !! The fried rice was fresh and tasty. I like the chicken and broccoli sauce. I thought the Hersey Ice Cream cups as dessert other than a soft cone machine was a great idea !! The new price didn't bother me in the least 10.99 for lunch was a reasonable price and I felt it was with every penny. I like the Italian fish on a Chinese Buffet was GREAT !! hehe Highly recommended!! If your near Trader Joe's and want a good hot meal go to China Buffet!! I will return !!!"
"Ate here while drinking beers at Velum and...I gotta say...they are better, much better, at making food than Velum is at making beer. The menu is...hard to explain. A mix of high-end stoner food, classic American, new-school American, PGH local flavor, and even some Asian influences.I got a big ol sloppy wet burger and...it was incredible. It was called the hot shot and...while I wish it was a bit more spicy...it was packed with hearty flavors. It also came with fries, something that is sadly becoming rare in the fancier burger scene. The fries were also really good, good enough to be ordered on their own."
"Personally some of the best Chinese food I've had in Pittsburgh. I ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken with Fried Rice. Cooked perfectly, nothing was grease or saturated in cooking oils. Full of flavor. Chicken Lo Mein was also very tasty and full of flavor. The vegetables looked fresh and not frozen. I would definitely order again. Also from time of order to DoorDash delivery was about 20 minutes max."
"Came to Johnstown to hike and explore on a July Sunday. My friend and I first hiked at Lorain/Stonycreek. Afterwards, we were famished and my friend had the task of finding us a great lunch spot. Wahlah! Osaka, it was!We were promptly greeted and seated in a booth. They had an all-you-can-eat option. We looked at the menu and decided we would opt out of that and just order from the menu, saving a few bucks for the amount of food we wanted. We ended up ordering a roll and a combo platter of sashimi and a roll. We also got miso soup and seaweed salad with soft drinks.Service was fast, our server was very nice and efficient, the food was all good and presentation eye catching. The only critique would be our diet pepsis. They tasted "off", "heavy", maybe carbonation not quite right. Other than that, a great dining option!"
"Great little Chinese restaurant near us in Monroeville. We've dined in, as well as ordered for take-out. For dining in, it's a good venue for a quick bite. You won't be dining for the ambiance, just for a good, quick bite to eat. For take-out, it's quick. The quality is good, always freshly made. Service is friendly from a family run operation. Price is great. The two of us get two meals plus egg rolls for less than $25."
"I love this place, but be prepared to wait hours for your food. Tonight I ordered one sushi roll for pickup. When I was asked how long the wait would be, the girl told me, "I don't know." I've now been waiting over an hour, behind a long line of angry customers. I feel really bad for the poor hostess who has no control over this shit show. Management has really dropped the ball tonight. If staff can't keep up with in-house orders, then don't accept take out orders! I'll never come back outside of lunch hours."
