Butler Dog House

It's a cute little nostalgic shop. When I found the hot dog shop in a strip mall on route 8, I was expecting something different. I thought maybe hot dogs as thick as Nathan's or casting hot dogs like the Original hot dog, nope simple hot dogs from the grocery store you cook at home on regular hot dog buns, but it was average nothing totally unexceptional. The walls were decorated in dog paws and an artist's drawing of cartoon dogs. They have other sandwiches also and a special orange gravy sauce. I would recommend take out a few seats inside but it is a huge neighborhood favorite.

In town for a family service and my best friend is insistent on eating here while in town.Ordered a hot dog and gravy fry.The hot dog itself was ok, but the chili was nasty. I understand the onions on it, but why the spear pickle on a chili dog??? That just made matters worse! Gravy fries were ok. Never tried the hot dogs. The cheeseburger is awesome, the double cheeseburger is even better! Service is fine, they take you order and bring you your food.

4 years since last visit.... Fish is a little greasier than I remember. Maybe it was, maybe I'm just older and grumpier. Thought I ordered the orange gravy, maybe I didn't. Would I eat here again? Probably, but probably not the fish. I actually pealed away the breading.The brownie on the other hand.... ohhhh mmmmm gggggggg. That brownie claps. Could do without the icing though. They do take AmEx btw.

Loved the hotdogs! Chili tasted awesome. Very similar to the original butler hotdog shoppe. Small dining area but very welcoming. Staff were very nice. Tried the orange gravy. With no reference to how it should taste I enjoyed it on my order of fries. Tasty. I stop here every time I'm in town. This is one of my happy places.

Born and raised in this town. The original Hot Dog Shop on Main Street filled the city's air and drew people in from all over.(Sadly out of biz now). I come back after many years looking for a good dog. Many places have replicated the Famous Hot Dog Shops flavor. But what the heck is wrong with this picture?........The Pickle!!! Do they sell them this thin or do people actually cut them this thin?? Other than that, the dogs were good and price was also good. Lady at front wasn't the most friendly and will most likely have me frequenting other Hot Dog shops in the area.

This Butler chili is weird. I did not find it appetizing at all. It's more of a gravy chili meat soup. I did not like it and would never order it again. I will never go back here again.

There's some really great prices, at this hole-in-the-wall. A plain hotdog or chilidogis only $1.20 as of 01/2016 and their "small" order of fries are bigger than anywhere else in town for essentially the exact same price.The food is pretty good, and never undercooked. However, I'd like there to be an option of ordering non-gluten buns, even if it's an additional price. But if that's the only thing I can complain about, then the owners are doing something right.

The sauce is exactly the same as the original which is amazing. They sell it to take home as well. I've been here quite a few times as I live very close. I've never been disappointed. The inside is cute, small but I've never had much trouble getting a table. They are reasonably priced and it seems very clean inside. My only complaint is the staff could be nicer sometimes but understanding that everyone is on edge when they're so busy all the time, it's not a huge deal. I will absolutely be back!

Hot dogs are awesome , the guy at the counter , ( not sure if he is the owner) , is not friendly are all . He acts like u are bother him , every-time I m in there .
