Creative theater company located Downtown. Their annual fundraiser, BUS, is a frenzied 24 race to perform collaborative, dazzling, cutting edge theater, all in the space of 24 hours. Their venue is a very hip space in a restored building. Their Midnight Radio is a perennial favorite. They call it immersive theater, I just call it exhilarating and fun!

My family attended the production of "The Forest of Everywhere" and had an amazing time. It was my first immersive theatre experience and I was impressed with the costumes and set design. The entire theater was transformed into an enchanted forest with various animals that need help. My 2-year-old and I got to awaken an ancient tree, participate in a forest sing along, feed bugs to an Australian alpaca, dance with a donkey, and get photobombed by an ostrich.Shows like "The Forest of Everywhere" and production companies like Bricolage are going to help generations of kids fall in love with theater!

If you're in search of a small-venue, ultra-unique theater experience in the 'Burgh, you absolutely cannot beat Bricolage.Their theater space is tiny and intimate, and it makes you feel as if the actors are performing in your own living room. There's a lot of hometown love in their performances as well (we just recently got invited to live-Tweet their performance of Shakesburgh, which is just the incredible thing it sounds like - Shakespeare, as if it were penned by a Donnie-Iris-obsessed daily-WDVE-caller).They do a series each year called Midnight Radio, which is a fake 1940s-style radio broadcast performed in front of a live audience. While Shakesburgh was a hilarious part of this year's run, they also do a real bangup Pittsburgh edition of War of the Worlds. Oh yes, if you've ever wished you could have been part of that original radio broadcast, this is your chance (they're running it again this season). I love being able to see how all of the radio sound effects are made, but you can close your eyes and just imagine you're in your living room listening to it for real.Last summer, Bricolage put on the mind-blowing STRATA, which was a fully-interactive, one-on-one theater performance unlike anything I've ever experienced. It hardly does it justice to type about it, but imagine a performance that is never the same twice, where you, the audience member, become a part of the cast by interacting with the actors as you are led through a series of different rooms and experiences, ultimately leading to this wonderful moment where you walk into a bar full of friends and your theme song plays. I'm not even making that up. I love Bricolage because they let me walk into a bar while "Little Red Corvette" was playing. And then they gave me wine. THE BEST.Also - they're good to the blogging community, which I love. I'm also totally crazy about their new live-Tweeting outreach to generate buzz for new productions (don't worry, we bloggers & Twitter nerds sit in the back row so as to not disturb you!) Bricolage is a great example of a company getting social media right, and I really respect that. I'm definitely a devoted fan!

Listen...if you love creative theatre or entertainment that leaves you a better person for having experienced it...then Bricolage is right up your alley. It is the place I go to get a bit of NYC in PGH. I am not what you would consider a 'theatre-type' person even though I have seen my fair share of plays / shows. I knew when I first visited Bricolage that it was something entirely different and special in our community.Without a doubt, I always recommend this place to my friends because I KNOW that each time they put their hands to something, it's done with so much passion and intelligence and creativity. We're lucky to have Bricolage in Pittsburgh. It's a goldmine.

Bricolage's Saint's Tour was a magical way to spend a summer's eve exploring a bit of our city many write off as depressed - or worse - dangerous. A school bus ride through the streets of Braddock, the cemetery and the sunset-licked secret bridges over railroad tracks seeped with a tragic beauty. The stories and songs of Gypsies led us through the gardens and backyards of Braddock. With words and music and food and fellowship, we were invited into a world of every day Saints. This immersive theater experience gave me a new set of eyes to look at an area I thought I knew so well. And the community's involvement - especially the children's - was the icing on the cake. I've heard the show is sold out, but get on the waiting list. This is a moving and unique experience. And the bus drop off's proximity to Brew Gentleman marries to make an unexpected night out in Braddock perfectly complete.

Bricolage is one of our very favorite and most creative local theater companies. The downtown location is very convenient with garage parking nearby. We just saw Night of the Living Dead N'at. Hysterical! If they have a performance going, don't miss it.

Imaginarium escape room by Bricolage is a MUST do ! Very well done from beginning to end. Professional, challenging, frustrating and FUN! Have been to several eacape rooms this is so far the best.Only negative is if your group is less than 10 you are put with other folks. We had a 12 year old that was rude grabbed items and was not controlled by parents. It is appropriate for kids over 12 but this one detracted from our experience. Mike the manager at the site was great as was the leader of the experience.

We recently saw the midnight radio show 1984! AMAZING!!! Performers were very talented and the sound effects coming from the props on the stage were terrific to say the least. The staff was present everywhere greeting and talking to the patrons. The lobby was decorated with the 1984 theme and was interactive. Happy hour was a great touch before entering the show. I have already purchased tickets to the next event! It is nothing like I have ever seen before!
