Bowser's

Dined in at Bowser's for the first time last night. The service was fantastic, the food was good, the atmosphere was good very casual, local bar. As soon as you step out of the car you smell the meats as they have smokers in the parking lot under a big tent. My son ordered wings all flats, $18 for 10. Well seasoned, fantastic homemade ranch! I ordered the taco special, the portion was large and filling. The tacos were really good except the brisket was fatty (my taco has several pieces of just fat in it) which was disappointing because I saved it for last thinking it would be the best! And the buffalo chicken wrap with fries was a great buy, large portion. I would definitely return and try some other menu items....like a salad or a Bowser bowl. For the record, I would have rated it a 4.5 but half stars aren't an option. But give it a try if you haven't been. Heard their Bowser sandwiches are better than the big name restaurant!

Surprising BBQ from the place out back. Walked down the road to check them out. Didn't realize they are BEHIND all the other store fronts - entrance and parking behind the building you'll see; go around. You'll know it's there by the amount of cars and two large smokers they got with wood surrounding, not by their unmarked door on the back of the building.First time in, walked around and didn't see a host or sign. Little confused. Walked up the the bar area/where there was a kiosk to pay and stood there. Was busy during dinner time and staff was passing by running food, closing tabs. Bartender asked if I was picking up, stated dine in, was told to pick a seat and someone would be with me. Sure enough, 30 seconds later fella came over and grabbed my drink order as he told me bout the specials. Decided to get their special of the day, which was some smoked shrimp cocktail.Glad I remembered "shrimp cocktail" as when the shrimp was placed before I paused when I felt the cold wet shrimp.. but they were tasty. Got their seasonal sauce (some zingy, sweet taste). Seemed their beers were seasonal, lotsa pumpkin /fall beers, but got a very tasty 10% beer that I hadn't heard of the brewery. (Pumpkin Barrel Ale?)Ordered their brisket fries and man those were tasty. Fries were good, was a little underwhelmed by the bbq flavor and how it seemed to be 4oz Ontop of a pound of fries and had half a plate of fries left without the other toppings, but they were alright. For someone not from the area, walking in and not knowing the seating logistics.. and the bbq to be kinda meh? Meh. Stated bias is I've had great BBQ across Texas, Memphis, and South Carolina. Also smoked meats myself so.. Not bad for "the joint round back", though.

Had a really good steak salad. My husband had a fantastic fish sandwich. Very generous portions and hand cut fries.

Insanely good barbecue! I had the Wednesday special half chicken and the meat was moist, tender, and delicious. My companion had the brisket burger patty melt and it was exceptional. Highly recommend this place for the best barbecue!

Had an errand to run in Monaca so we searched for a dinner place in the area and this one won out! We were intrigued by the primantis style sandwiches and the bbq. My husband got a plate with brisket and turkey, both of which were good, but the portion was much smaller than we thought it was going to be. Turkey can sometimes end up dry, but that was not the case. The sauces were all pretty good, but the honey mustard and house sauce were our faves. My primantis style sandwich was good, but my complaint was that the meat was all stacked up in the middle of the sandwich so the edges had no meat at all. Just bread and slaw. We each got the house made root beer as well and it did not disappoint! The interior is very casual and the service was great! No complaints!

Updating my last review to say the fries are FANTASTIC! Fresh cut and perfectly crispy (not a common thing with fresh cut fries). And the smoked wings (Mondays only) are pretty dang good, too. I will also say it again - great beer list! Rotating draft selections and a good selection of bottles, too.

Awesome experience for an out-of-towner!! The food and service were great. Good local beer selection.

Take a look at the wood and the smokers. This place is the real deal. The honey butter half chicken (a special on wed) was to die for. The best bbq chicken I have had. The brisket was good too. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I had to take half of it home. If I am in the area again I will definitely eat here.

Great BBQ! The menu has much to offer. Many dishes, sandwiches, salads, etc utilizing their meats off the smoker. Nice selection tion of beer and cocktails. Service was great. Our waiter was on point and everyone on staff would stop by to see if you needed anything or take a dish away. The Reuben with house made pastrami was awesome. Their meats are smoked perfect, not to heavy on the smoke. You can still taste the meat. Their housemade BBQ sauces are pretty good too. My favorite was the carolina style. Very clean and comfortable setting. A decent crowd came and went but there seemed to be plenty of room but we were there pretty early. .

Overcooked, dry wings. Service was great & staff was friendly. Won't get the wings again.
