Bonfire Restaurant

Ok, we started on Rt 28, crossed New Kensington Bridge, and went a ways and arrived at the large gravel parking lot. When entering the restaurant, a sign is prominently displayed regarding being short-staffed and asking for patience. I really liked the John Wayne memorabilia and cast iron Conestoga Wagon. I believe the waitresses outnumbered the cooks, BUT our orders were correct, AND all food served at once. We started with hot cheese bites & gouda/bacon/mac n cheese balls. The hard-core hot cheese bites people moved to the other team. Pulled pork, turkey with gravy & mashed potatoes, fish on a dish, & chicken wings were ordered. Everyone was satisfied with their meals - clean plate club. The coleslaw would have been better with just oil, vinegar, salt, & pepper. We all left full. Nice family environment. Six teen/adults - the bill was a little over $100.

Everything about the Bonfire is a little redneck. If that doesn't bother you, then you will enjoy the atmosphere. They advertise the best fish sandwich in the AK Valley. In my opinion, that statement ls true. The service is down home getter done! They have a bar downstairs, so you can order an alchohol beverage if that's your thing. It's family style with a big twist of redneck John Wayne going on. I rate this 4 Stars on the hick scale

good bad and ugly Service was bad but seen plenty of wait staff walking around. Had one take order, another served food and another I flagged down for drink refill after waiting 15 minutes with empty glass. Good part fish dinner was very good although I never had slaw served in 2 oz soufle cup when table next to me got same dinner and slaw was served in glass bowl with ice cream scoop size serving UGLY Mom ordered cheeseburger was so burnt on one side it looked like charcoal and hard as rock BAD got another cheeseburger which took 19 minutes tasted like pre cooked frozen hockey pucks you buy at Sam's club for quick burger and the cheese was just thrown on top and wasn't even melted

The food is good, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is enjoyable. The rustic atmosphere is my favorite part about this place, however the food is really what makes me come back, because it was good every time.

The food at the Bonfire is excellent. My parents and brothers love the fish sandwiches. I really like their steak salad. Definitely recommend.

Wow. Waited 1.5 hours for a table. Then another 45 for our food. Fish sandwich was decent nothing worth going out of your way for or waiting that long for. Place was busy but service was slow. Fish was a nice sized sandwich. Fries were ok. Place is clean and a nice comfy setting. Would go back someday but definitely during very busy off peak hours

Had a wonderful time with some family and friends, owner was great, bartender and server were nice, fast. Excellent place to go, good food and drinks. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this place, will definitely be coming back!

We picked up two fish sandwiches for take out yesterday. Way too expensive for what it is. The fish sandwich itself was fine, nothing special, but not terrible. We were shocked to find that when we picked up our sandwiches, it was $30.00 for two sandwiches. This did not include any sides, just fish on a hamburger bun. We did get cheese on it (which I'm sure was an upcharge), but $15.00 for a sandwich is outrageous for this area. We're not in NYC. We will not be returning.

Good food, good service and an inviting atmosphere. I have eaten my way through most of the menu in the past few years and don't recall ever having a disappointing meal.
