Blowfish BBQ

They set up at Dancing Gnome yesterday and Trace today-so easy to find at your favorite brewery.The brisket Mac and cheese is the best Mac I have ever had. The owner was super nice and my food was ready so quickly! I would absolutely recommend this business as a MUST if you ever see them at your local watering hole.

I always get Blowfish BBQ when Hootie pops up at Trace Brewing. It's truly the best BBQ I've had in my life! My usual order is the pulled pork sandwich combo which includes generous portions of vinegar coleslaw and smoked Mac and cheese.The meat is always super tender, smoky, salty, and flavorful.The coleslaw is unique - peppery, spicy, and vinegary. Almost has a pickled vibe to it. If you can't handle spicy foods you may want to skip it, but I love shoveling it onto my pulled pork sandwich.The Mac and cheese is my deathbed meal. Hootie leaves it in the smoker so it has a delicious smoky taste. It is squishy and sooo cheesy, just absolutely delicious and it compliments the meat perfectly.Last time I was there I also tried a smoked chicken drumstick. It was so tender that the meat fell right off of the bone. The spice rub was delicious and resulted in super crispy skin, and the chicken was super flavorful all the way through.They have 6 different sauces you can choose from - BBQ, spicy BBQ, Carolina gold, spicy Caroline gold, hot, and vinegar. I love the spicy BBQ and the Carolina gold, but I recommend getting a few and trying them all! Not a miss in the bunch.Service is walking up to a table and ordering, paying on a square card reader, and getting your food in a to go container. They don't have a physical location that you can go to that I'm aware of, so I just check local breweries food truck menus to stalk down where they'll be! Food goes great with a beer, a patio, and a warm summer evening.

Finally got to try Blowfish BBQ while they were at Coven brewery and it did not disappoint! The brisket Mac n cheese was amazinggggg and I added some of the spicy bbq sauce!

Conveniently set up at a brewery so had to try it. Nice set up, very friendly service. Lots of different sauces to try with your brisket. Brisket was very peppery. Not a bad thing, unless you are not a fan of black pepper. Portion size in conjunction with the cost of a brisket sandwich was less favorable. One can do a combo for 5.00 more which is adding 2 side dishes.

I didn't realize they would be at Dancing Gnome today but was hungry and in the mood for BBQ. Smelled awesome as I walked into Gnome and saw some folks eating and thought you might as well get it. I was not disappointed. Gentlemen serving was extremely nice and answered my many questions and offered suggestions as to what I should order. I ended up with a combo pulled pork, slaw and Mac and cheese. He even offered a suggestion on sauce. The $13 for this combo was well worth it. I definitely couldn't finish my order. The pulled pork was great with the spicy bbq sauce added. The Mac and cheese was over the top good. Slaw was good but I opted to not finish that as I had limited room and couldn't stop eating the Mac and cheese. Great value, great staff and great food. I won't pass them up anymore.

I'd say 3.5 really. Brisket was very good but had way too much pepper. I took the bun off and it was covered with it. We tried 4 sauces that we enjoyed. The macaroni and cheese was decent but missing an ingredient, not sure what. The cole slaw was very bland and almost brown, wouldn't get that again. We also got the cornbread which was good but was kept in the smoker so it had a very smokey flavor. The portion size was great and could be shared.

Fantastic BBQ food-truck style! They set up shop at Brew Gentleman's in Braddock on Friday evening, which is where my fiance and I caught them. Really good food, HUGE portions, good prices, and we got to enjoy our meal in Brew Gentleman's outdoor patio area - nothing but good things to say.For just $17 we got a pulled pork sandwich, full side orders of cole slaw and mac & cheese, and a loaf of cornbread. That was plenty of food for two of us! You can get a single sandwich with two mini-sides for $13. Our friends got those and they were big too, but good for one person.The pulled pork was so flavorful by itself! BBQ places often have bland meat and lots of good sauce but the meat here stood alone. They did provide several sauce options which were fine but not special.The cole slaw was not traditional (creamy) but rather quite spicy. I liked it a lot and it's healthier than the normal stuff. The mac & cheese made up for that healthiness - it was very oily and cheesy and came in just a humongous portion. So good though! I just wouldn't recommend eating an entire side of that by yourself.The loaf of corn bread was wrapped in plastic so I was suspicious at first, but I was wrong. It was actually still hot from baking and had a nice sweet flavor with just a hint of cheese.Find Blowfish BBQ around the 'Burgh - you won't be disappointed!

It's real deal smoked meats. I grew up in Texas. It's next to impossible to find good BBQ in PGH. This mobile food truck style operation might not be quite as good as the BBQ back home, but it's damn good for Pittsburgh. The guy who runs it was super friendly. I recently started smoking meats and he answered all of my noob, nerd meat smoking questions and said feel free to reach out for tips. I personally think he over peppers his brisket a bit, but that's a small gripe. His smoked mac n chz is ridiculously good and he loads it up. My wife and I can split a combo plate and be stuffed. He's got like 5 different sauces. Gold and Spicy Gold were both great. Blowfish is worth checking out.

The first bbq I've tried in Pittsburgh and it did not disappoint! I got the pulled pork sandwich with Mac and cheese and slaw. The pork was tender and flavorful. I put some of the slaw on my sandwich which I highly recommend! The Mac and cheese was sooo good! It is a smoked Mac and cheese so you get a good Smokey flavor. Can't wait to have this bbq again!
