Blaine Boring Chocolates

Mmm, chocolate. There is something about chocolate that is soothing. When you walk into a place like this the smell overcomes you and you end up with a smile on your face.The shop part of this place is a bit small, but packed full of all that chocolate gold. You can kind of see in the back area a bit and see them busy at work making more chocolate to put on the floor.Their cases are stocked well with all your chocolate desire and fudge included. I wanted to take home more than what I did. To note, there are other items of candy in here as well that do not contain chocolate. Some have a nostalgic feel to them as they are hard to find. Other are the typical candies you can find anywhere. Some items you can get in bulk and at a decent price.Staff were very helpful and answered any questions we had.

We were in Johnstown to meet a friend from NC halfway to bring her some dogs. When we saw BB we had to go. We were not disappointed! The homemade chocolate items were the best, of course. I am a chocolatier and award winning chocolate chip cookie and brownie maker from way back. I made my first torte on my own while still in college, just for fun! The cruel irony at the time was a boyfriend that had that almost unheard of problem (at the time) of a peanut allergy! We recommend Peanut Butter Meltaways, the Caramel Patties and the Butter Crunch with almonds! Nice home town place and the prices are right in line for what you get.

Their chocolate has a very strange taste. Honestly, they taste like the stuff that sits in the back of my great grandma's pantry for god knows how long. I couldn't even finish them.

Their chocolate is top tier. I have yet to experience better chocolate. A 2-lb box of milk chocolates has a very short life in my home.

I want to give a Big Shout Out and Thank You to Blaine Boring Chocolates, especially Mike McGowan, for taking the care during this crazy and uncertain time, to personally make sure I was able to keep our family traditions alive and order the very yummy Easter candy I wanted and ensure it will be shipped to me all the way out in Los Angeles. Love their Chocolate! I live in North Carolina. I have to order their chocolate and have it sent. Their site does not do them justice. They have a phenomenal Easter selection also.

Blaine Boring candy store has been in Johnstown for as long as I can remember. I used to go over to their store every day during either my break or lunch to buy candy by the piece or by the pound. Their dark chocolate is to die for! I don't work in Johnstown anymore and don't get to visit them as often as I would like, but I was very excited to take my son into the store to introduce him to the wonderful experience of Blaine Boring's exceptionally good chocolates. We enjoy going into Blaine Boring every time we visit Johnstown. If you love good quality chocolate and are in Johnstown, you owe it to yourself to stop in and try some!
