This one is a little out of the way. We drove about 25-30 minutes off of I-70 up some hills and around some windy roads to get here. But you know what? It was worth the trip!If you're like me, you may not expect much from the outside. Like me, you'd be sorely mistaken. Walking in, we saw a beautiful log cabin space with two second-floor loft areas overlooking the main area. All of the tables are wood that matches the walls, flooring and ceiling. They have a large room to your right dedicated to parties and large events. They had 40 people coming in for a painting party on the night we were there. Live music on other nights! The owner was at the tasting bar and he chatted us up about our preferred type of wine. My wife went with the dry side and I went with the sweets. We met in the middle with their sweet red wine, which is what we bought to take home.I wish we had more time to sit and enjoy the view out the back window. Our kids loved the upstairs loft with the dollhouse and toys. A kids' play area in a winery? Perfect for this mom and dad!I'd love to get back here sometime and spend more time.

Stopped here for a glass of wine and a snack. The ambience is amazing here and the wooden interior is something to be experienced. And the wine is great! We had 2 glasses of Dark Continent and tried a few others...all to our liking. Staff was amazing too...very polite and helpful. We will be coming back!

Loved this winery. It's been on our radar for a year. We finally decided to check it out.The name itself is well fitting. The owners were very nice. They have dry to sweet wines. All of the wines are very good. The continent is a dry red which was my favorite. We tried all wines which is $3 for all which is good. Love this place HIGHLY RECOMMEND..

Hands down the best winery we have ever been too- and we enjoy our wine from east to west coast and everything in between. If you have not tried Hair of the Dog you are missing something spectacular. This wine is our absolute favorite. We've converted many a friend into drinking it religiously. The ownership is simply wonderful, genuine and hospitable. The drive definitely requires a day trip for us, but everything keeps us coming back time and time again.

The atmosphere is wonderful, especially the outdoor space. But...there's not enough of it! We came on a Saturday night and finally found some seats up in the loft and stayed for awhile to listen to the live music. The wine was okay...too sweet for me, but it was a beautiful night and the music was fun. I understand that Black Sheep is a winery, but I think it'd be a great idea if they'd open a full-service bar and add more seating/outdoor space. We also had a tough time finding a parking space and ended up leaving our car about 100 yards down the road.

Very pleasantly surprised! This was my first Ohio winery and I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm glad we took a chance and experienced it. The owner who did the wine tasting was very friendly and when speaking of each of his wines, you could tell it was a great passion of his. Loved that the names of the wines had a significant personal reason. The wines we did during the tasting were all unique and there were numerous ones we enjoyed. We got the cheese plate which was bigger than we expected so we were happy about that! Also, the sitting area upstairs was exclusive to us because no one else was up there so it was a great intimate setting with all the beautiful woodwork. I'm shocked the place was not busier as I can't see why more people aren't experiencing this hidden gem. Maybe because it wasn't Saturday with the live band. Check it out! You won't be disappointed!
