A solid spot to grab some brews in the south side. Keep in mind though that they mainly have craft beer. My boyfriend was on the hunt for Coors Original and it was no where in sight. He was disappointed. However, if you're looking for a craft beer, odds are they have it. The service is incredible here- so friendly!

Not sure what the Fellow below is talking about. I been in here lots of times and certainly doesn't smell. Must've been his own body odor or something. And someone from New York thinks prices are high here? Prices are very competitive for Pittsburgh and certainly cheaper then any place I've been to in New York but who knows different states anyways. Great family owned business just check other websites reviews too and you'll see great marks everywhere.

This is my go-to for beer in Pittsburgh. For starters the owner and employees are always exceedingly friendly and helpful. In addition their beer selection is impressive for the size of the establishment. Black & Gold has boasts a plentiful selection of local and Pennsylvania brews, as well as beer from other brewing hotspots around the country, namely San Diego. Ballast Point, Mission, Green Flash, Coronado, and Stone just to name a few. There is always a great seasonal selection as well. You'd be amazed at how often you can find the rarer beers here. When another distributor can't sell a high end craft beer it often gets rerouted to here. Anything special you had in mind that isn't in stock? Ask mgmt about reserving you a case!

The black and gold is such a dependable place to buy beer. They have a wide variety of beer and you can purchase 6 packs, 12 packs of a whole case. This is so nice because a lot of times, at other places the only option is to buy the entire case. Everyone there is so helpful and willing to suggest new seasonal items. As a plus, yesterday they had a promotional beer tasting!

My company gets all of our alcohol for different events here. It's a great place, they always have what we need and the employees are very friendly and helpful! No plans of changing our beer place any time soon :)

This place is AWESOME. Selection is huge, Prices are dead on, specials are better - and often different - then other distributors. I stop here about once a week and the staff is SUPER FRIENDLY and helpful! If you don't see what you are looking for, and it is in season, they will go out of their way to find it for you. Thank God I never have to go to South Side Beer ever again!

This distributor has a great location (off Carson), great selection, great hours (who else is open to 11?!), and great prices/specials but the most amazing aspect is the staff: they will get you anything you ask for if it's not on the floor, will earnestly ask how you are, offer you free candy, and do it all with a smile. By far the best distributor in the city

I'm not from PA but the prices seemed to be really high and the selection pretty low/random. The interior also smelled terrible which would be a bigger deal if this was a restaurant but none the less it was very unsettling. The location is very convenient and they do, as advertised, sell beer so I'll give them 2 stars.

This place has everything! Never been disappointed with the selection or the prices. The atmosphere is awesome, as well as the hours. Love the people that work here, always extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely one of the best distributors in Pgh.

Pretty good, but not great prices, decent selection if you're willing to turn over a few rocks. Very old school warehouse type store right across the river from Pitt. Friendly and helpful owners. Easy stop on the way home to WNY
