We stopped here for the first time after an event at the convention center. We had a wonderful experience! It might not look like much from the outside but this place is a true gem. There's a small dinning area within the massive bar along with a separate section just for dining. It has a homey feel. We were greeted and seated right away. All of the employees were friendly and helpful. This place definitely has character and charm. True yinzer experience! The menu is fantastic with tons of great options to select from. We started out with the zucchini with marinara. It was really good nice and crispy. For my entree I ordered the open faced roast beef sandwich. Whenever it was served I couldn't help but say WOW because it was absolutely massive! It could easily feed two people if not more. All of the food that we ordered was delicious, huge portions and reasonably priced. I really can't say enough good things about this place truly. Do yourself a favor and give it a try!

What a dynamite hidden spot in this beautiful cityIf you want the most yinzer sit down experience of your life you don't go to Primanti's, you go to Big Jim's in the MF RunIt feels like I'm sitting in my grandmas house from the color of the smokes stained walls, the decor on it, tables, not a matching set.... I love itThe staff are all as yinzer as you can get. The perfect exact type of people (in the best way possible) you want working hereNow the food. This is without a doubt the best Rueben I have ever had in my life. It's the size of my head and packed with meat and that beautiful Mancini's breadThe chicken parm is a chicken parm. But what makes it better than the rest is about 14in and get this... $14 for the entire thing. 4 cutlets with that beautiful bread?? Get the f*ck outta hereDon't know how they are turning a profit with the massive portions and cheap pricesThis is what Pittsburgh is all about

This place continues to bring back my childhood memories every time. So conistent over the years. I love everything about this place, especially the portions. Always rotate between 5-6 items, and today, it was the fettuccini Alfredo with meatballs added. Creamy, perfectly salted, and pasted cooked nicely. Enjoyed mixing in a little red sauce to it. My only regret was not having the guts to also order a fish sandwich, Reuben, or veal parm with it

Finally made it out Big Jim's. The portions are huge. The vibe is welcoming. The staff are great. The food was meh at best. I got the fish sandwich. It came with a small Cole slaw, that arrived 15 min before the sandwich. It was fine. The 'sandwich' was just a roll and the fish. Nothing else, no lettuce, no tomatoes. The fish was ok, not really flaky. A bit over done. I got a side of fries. They were not crisp. I'd say it was average for bar food.

Frequently, sitting at the bar often picking up a calzone, wanting to go back for a salad and lasagna! The folks here are always keeping it sweet and cheery, busy and wonderful to see this place full of friendly happy faces. Biggest complaint is "how will I ever finish this?" muahahaha! Where there's a will...There's always a way!! Thank you guys and gals.

Great spot!! Loved the atmosphere and the vibe of this spot. Stopped in during lent so am really looking forward to going back and trying the full regular menu The fish sandwich was good though and so was the broiled option. We also got mozzarella sticks and they were perfect. The mac n cheese tasted like Stouffers which I really didn't like, they ran out of haluski, and the menu said our food came with coleslaw but we weren't given any. So I did have to dock a star. Hopefully next time it'll be perfect. We still enjoyed our food, the cold beers, and the great company

I have been past this place a number of times going to visit family in Greenfield and seen it on TV but never stopped. My wife and I finally got to stop and try it out. We both got appetizer. I got the zucchini and the wife got the onion rings. The Zucchini was very thin and greasy but the onion rings were great. I ordered the open face roast beef sandwich. The bread was dry and I had to ask for extra gravy because it had very little on it. The fries were very good though and the amount of food was large. Service was outstanding and the waitress was friendly and attentive. I noticed that the couple next to us got fish sandwiches that looked great. As far as the ambience, it's clean and had an old bar charm to it. Wasn't big on my sandwich but I'll definitely go back for something else.

Big Jim's In The Run is a delicious Italian restaurant. Serving homemade pasta dishes, piled-high hoagies & fried apps- there is something for everyone! We tried this Big Jim calzone and it was giant and so good. Split between two people, easily two meals! Filled with meats, veggies, cheese & sauce! Big Jim's is located on Saline Street in lower Greenfield, neighborhood bar & restaurant. Tucked away under a bridge right off the parkway- totally worth seeking out!

This restaurant is a hidden treasure in Pittsburgh! Parking was a breeze, and you almost wouldn't even notice it if you weren't looking for it. It doesn't seem like much from the outside, but boy were we pleasantly surprised. The service was phenomenal, and we were served quickly. I got the lasagna with meat sauce, which was loaded with layers and smothered over the top with the meat sauce. It was amazing and a huge portion. My husband got the veal parmesan sandwich, which was humongous! It was bigger than his head. The veal was fried to perfection, the cheese melted and oozing, and the cherry on the top was the crunch crispiness of the bread. We will have leftovers for days, and we only spend about $16 for each dish. Huge portions, low prices, and amazing quality. You literally cannot ask for anything more. Hands down 5 stars to this restaurant and a must visit in Pittsburgh.
