Baxter’s R•Cade

My boyfriend threw me a surprise birthday party at Baxters and it was super nice but the staff wasn't the most friendly. It took forever to get drinks and a few of the workers were a bit rude - "I'm not your server". The food menu is pretty small - mostly snacks. The avocado toast is excellent! The cocktails are fun and festive!We loved the wall of board games! Overall it was a cool place, just wish there were more food options!

We are so excited to have Baxter's RCade open up in the neighborhood! It's so nice to go to a bar/restaurant that's fun for the adults and the kids... there were truly all ages there when we stopped in. They didn't have high chairs when we got seated, but the staff was so accommodating and quickly ran across the street to borrow some from another restaurant. The host gave us a rundown of the place and all of the different areas: board games, bocce courts, arcade games, old school gaming systems and TVs, golf bays, and putting green. Some activities were free and some needed a gaming card to play. There are dining tables and bar stools inside, as well as picnic tables and more seats at the bar outside. It was a beautiful night, so all of the large windows were open. Their bar included signature cocktails and mocktails, as well as limited beer and wine options. The food menu wasn't very extensive, but we tried the buffalo chicken dip, caprese dip, guacamole and queso, Thai chicken tacos, and a flatbread. The food came out quickly, and everything was pretty good; it wasn't anything spectacular, but decent to snack on while you play games and enjoy the atmosphere.

I know this place just opened and it takes time to get things ironed out so I am being cautious of that in this review. First, it has a lot of potential to be a go-to spot. Great atmosphere, lots to do, and fun for groups. Cool for kids and family friendly. The caveat - it's overpriced and the menu only has appetizers and shareable items. No entrees. If you are looking to just eat and have a drink I'd look elsewhere. Will give it another try in the future for sure but there are a lot of other options with better food and drinks for less.

Poor food, poor service, high prices. Not a winning combination. They just opened but boy do they need to get better. Not a return spot for me.
