Upon reading reviews, this was noted to be one of the best food option onsite. Upon entering, the ambience didn't seem too extravagant considering the site it's on. It seemed like an average restaurant. I did greatly appreciate them taking notice of my seating preference. I noted when booking that it was for a birthday and when I called in advance they said they give a complimentary dessert with such. Unfortunately, this was missed and nothing was given after dinner.Service was average. The food options weren't vast and were extremely pricey. So I was hoping for amazing food. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The complimentary bread and sauce was average. The chicken parm was not. Olive Gardens tastes better. I really hope this resort can spruce up the food options. Food is very important when visiting any place and can make or a break a facility. Especially by adding more ethnically diverse places with flavor to eat. Even if the ambience/environment isn't as nice, I love visiting hole in the wall places with extraordinary food. Unfortunately, this was not it.

My friend and I had a lovely dinner at Barattolo! It was perfect weather to sit out on their patio and check out the view of their sprawling grounds. Our server was so friendly and passionate as he walked us through the menu. We were there in July so we started with their Summer peach burrata salad, then tried the duck ragu, and got one of their beautifully plated desserts. Overall I thought all the food was delicious. The duck ragu could have used a bit more seasoning though. But, between the vibe of the patio, the wonderful service, and the thoughtful presentation of everything, it really was a wonderful dinner.

Service was super nice and the view is nice on the resort. We came here for lunch and the pizza was pretty good. The prices are high throughout the resort but this place was one of the places we liked better on the resort.

While staying at Nemacolin Resort in June 2021, we (a group of six adults) went to three of the high-end restaurants there - Aqueous, Rockwell's, and Barattolo. At Barattolo, they seemed short-staffed, which we attributed to the COVID recovery process. Nemacolin was clearly in the hiring and training process while we were there, so hopefully this will be improving soon.Service was slow (ex: it took them probably at least 15 minutes to pick up our check), and the menu was limited, so this ended up being everyone's least favorite meal of the three restaurants. I loved the burrata caprese salad appetizer. For my main dish (frutti del mare), the homemade pasta part of my was excellent, the scallops were okay, and the shrimp were giant (yum). I think that we might have a better experience in a few months if they are able to hire and train more staff so service improves and the menu has a few more main dishes.Side note if you are looking for kid-friendly: I spotted a high chair while we were there, as well as several school-age children. They have pizza on their menu, so this could be a good spot to have a nice meal and bring your kiddos.

My husband and I had a wonderfully quiet dinner here while at Nemacolin for the holiday weekend. The service was wonderful and we were encouraged to stay as long as we wanted. I do think we're spoiled by the fact that we have such wonderful Italian food in the city, so while our meals were very tasty they weren't the best Italian I've ever had. The meatballs came out very quickly and were a bit over cooked. It definitely seemed as if they were sitting under a lamp before coming to us. Our pasta dishes were very flavorful although portions were on the smaller side. I had a fabulous Old Fashioned that was honestly my favorite part. Sitting on the upper outdoor balcony with the great view made for a nice, relaxing evening, even though the food was just better than okay.

We dined here for dinner one night during our stay at Nemacolin. The service was amazing, but as others have mentioned it is clear that they are understaffed. Our drinks and food took an incredibly long time, and the quality of the food was extremely disappointing. The bread at the beginning of the meal was burnt, the chicken had a terrible flavor, and the pizzas were served lukewarm. The best dish was the kale salad which was delicious! The reason I would still give three stars is only because our server Clay was wonderful.

If you are looking for a relaxed meal with friendly service this is it. The vibe is all country Italian household and a menu that balances more casual, and delicious, pizza to fancier pasta and Italian dishes. We loved the pizza crust, light and delicate. The seasonal risotto was a little under seasoned but expertly cooked. They gave us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary which was super kind. We ate at five of the Nemacolin restaurants (not Lautrec) and this was easily our favorite.

Service was A-plus. I mentioned that I can't have cheese (when the waiter asked if there's any allergies). Server was immediately able to tell me which dishes I could not or should not order and which dishes they can easily accommodate. Impressive. I ordered the oxtail mushroom papadelle. The papadelle is made in house. The whole entree is delicious. My kids shared a kids cheese pizza. They loved it as well. Also had their kale salad. Generous size and very good. Very happy with everything here.

I can't speak for the other places located on the Nemacolin resort, but this was a solid meal, i would rate 3.5 if that was an option. Barattolo is a newer restaurant, about a year, and is definitely a place that's finding their footing. They have a rotating menu seasonally that is pretty selective. The few items they do have though are innovative and delicious. We went for dinner with three people on a Wednesday night and ordered a lot of food. For appetizers: we ordered a burrata and meatballs. For me, the burrata was one of three highlights of the meal. The meatballs were flavorful and cooked perfectly as well. I would highly recommend either. For mains: we ordered a pepperoni pizza, the chicken dish, and an order of the gnocchi. While the pizza was very average, the chicken was a big miss. Too many flavors going on, and none of them really worked together. The gnocchi was the second of three highlights. It was made with vegetables and an English pea purée and was perhaps one of the most innovative and interesting dishes I have ever eaten. I mention this last because this was the third and absolute best highlight of this meal. They serve bread at the beginning and I have genuinely never had better bread in my life. It is simply delicious and I would go back there literally just for that bread if I was able. I will say this was a rather expensive meal, but that can be said about anywhere on Nemacolin's campus. I would like to see how they grow and become better over time, because I absolutely think they will.

Overpriced and not very good. Skip this one and choose anything else. Nemacolin needs to revamp this menu and rethink this whole restaurant.
