I had planned to dine here on a Friday night with a group of friends. I triple-checked the hours and even after reading very old reviews as well as reviews warning people of the odd hours, we attended to go. Well-the reviews were right and I should have listened. On Google the hours were listed as open too. Do everyone a favor and correct the hours or, if you are closed and no longer in operation, then at the very least-let people know and be clear about it.

We popped in for a quick dinner before a show at Mr. Smalls. The bar area was pretty crowded and the dining room gradually filled up while we were there. The first thing that hits you, literally, is the strong smell of air freshener when you walk in. It was so overpowering that I almost had to leave. We gradually got used to it but it is not pleasant. The second thing that we noticed was how untrained and stretched thin our waitress was. There was a bartender and our waitress and one cook working that night. When we asked what beers were on tap and if they had any IPAs, she wasn't sure what beers they served or what an IPA was, really. I have to say she was as pleasant as pie but dressed in a sparkly half shirt with bare midriff and tight pants with high heels, the outfit was just sort of odd for a waitress. I had to go to the bar to order another beer because she was just too busy to even notice. The California burger I ordered was cooked to the perfect medium temp and the fries were fresh and nicely salted. We could see the cook using a bowl to gently toss them in salt when they came out of the fryer. He was hustling and got the food out fairly fast considering it was just him. The avocado on the burger was fresh and perfectly ripe too. I hope the chef is paid well because he deserves every penny. Times are tough for small business owners these days. I get that. The food was good and our server was very nice. She just needs trained on the menu and the drinks/beers. And they need to get rid of that overpowering air freshener and fix the root cause of whatever smell they are trying to mask. There is real potential here with some minor tweaks.

We stopped in here recently with a group of about 15. I am sure they were overwhelmed, as there was no one in the bar when we arrived. I will say the atmosphere was really nice inside. Everything looks new and clean and made for a good drinking spot. The food kind of fell flat however. We ordered the pretzels and beer cheese as an appetizer. They were decent, nothing special. For my meal I went with the buffalo chicken sandwich. This was a really average sandwich. The menu said the chicken was breaded, but it was not a thick enough batter. The chicken itself was definitely not crispy. This caused the buffalo sauce the make the sandwich a little sloppy. The buffalo sauce itself did not have a very good flavor and had no spice to it at all. The ranch dressing they had also had a strange taste to it. It seemed house made, but it just tasted off.

Great food, wonderful vibe, good service and excellent beer list.We were pleased by the food, which is heavy on the burgers. They could add a veggie burger, which would add lots of options for vegetarians. We met the chef, and we complemented him on his creative ideas, for example blue cheese on the roasrted Brussels Sprouts, which addded lots of flavor. I was happy to see several beers from Grist House on their draft list (which was heavily IPA). Our food arrived quickly and it was cooked to perfection. There are lots of TV screens if you want to watch a game.

Their food hours are inaccurate. The service is subpar and the music is horrible: I'm pretty sure the bartender is drunk and it's only 10PM.

Nah. Spinach dip *super* watery and cold, Caprese/ marguerita flatbread (also cold) drizzled with a thick balsamic dressing, not so much a balsamic reduction. Drinks were good. Bartender competent attentive and helpful! Lovely place and terrific concept. Needs some refining.

This is a hidden gem in the heart of Millvale. Really a beautiful spot. Updated, modern and smoke-free. This is an establishment you'd expect to find in Lawrenceville or Brooklyn.Prices are fair and they come up with some really fun drink ideas and specials.Didn't get a chance to eat but can't wait to come back for a bite.Definitely worth checking out!

What a nice surprise! Our first visit to Bar 3 was to hear an acoustic set on Friday night. I had looked at the menu in advance, and thought it looked promising - a variety of selections somewhat elevated from typical bar food, and some healthy choices as well. As we had already eaten dinner, we opted for a less healthy spinach dip, but it was tasty! The beer selection was very good, too, with a variety of beers, not just IPAs or Miller Lites. We saw that they had the Lambic Framboise and the bartender was happy to mix it with some Hoegarden, to allow us to share (try it if you haven't done so - really a nice combination). Service and the overall ambience of the bar were also a step well above average. This makes Bar 3 competitive with nearby brew pubs, which are fun, but often overcrowded. I would recommend for anyone who might be planning to see a show at Mr. Smalls, etc., as a nice pre-/post- stop.

Last week, I was heading to a concert at Mr. Smalls and I wanted to grab some food beforehand so I looked up Millvale restaurants and found Bar 3. It had good reviews, so I figured I would give it a try! Thank you other Pittsburgh area Yelpers! I loved the atmosphere of Bar 3! It's perfect for a date night or a meal with friends. It's very spacious- a mixture of high and low tables. You seat yourself, so I sat at a low top table in the back of the restaurant. It's very clean and fresh! Since it was so hot on Friday, I didn't order a beer or cocktail- but they a great selection of local brews! To start, we ordered the pretzels. You get 4 pretzels for $9. They were very good - I definitely order them again! For my entree, I ordered the steak salad. To be honest it was kinda of small to be paying $13 for the size of the salad. The steak was cooked just right and the salad was delicious. My friend ordered the crab salad - she said it was good but also very small. Overall, I'm glad Bar 3 is now open in Millvale. I will definitely be back and try something new.
