Bagel Factory

I heard so many great things about this place so when we were in the area we made a special trip to stop. It was very busy and everything looked great but that's where it stopped. My daughter had a cream cheese bagel on Asiago but they forgot to toast it, my bacon/egg/cheese was cold with an odd taste and the hot sauce was some off brand. The vanilla latte was delicious and the gentleman that waited on us was nothing but wonderful.

I got a double shot of espresso and then the nova lox bagel on a spicy everything bagel... the bagel itself was good but the lox didn't taste great and the espresso was not espresso lol however, the service is great, I enjoyed sitting outside and reading my book after picking up a game from the boutique board game shoppe across the street... I recommend but only if you get something simple like a bagel and cream cheese or egg sammy

This was the saddest breakfast sandwich I have ever gotten! There was a single egg on it. The cheese wasn't melted at all. The bagel was dry. I would definitely skip going here.

Left feeling satisfied. The chive bacon shmear was chive cream cheese with 2 big pieces of real bacon! Pleasant surprise. It doesn't have a polished atmosphere but that's what makes it an institution in Sq Hill. The bagels here are above average for Pittsburgh.

I hate to be the fly in the bagel schmear, but I was so disappointed. We stopped in for some pre-shopping noshing, and I happily ordered the matzoh ball soup while others ordered bagels. My soup was not hot and the amount of turkey on my daughter's turkey bagel sandwich was pathetic. (see pic) To make matters worse, the restaurant was pretty much filthy. Can't say I'd come back any time soon.

I stopped here for a breakfast bagel sandwich since I was in the area for work. I was surprised to see such a low average rating on Yelp, but I tried to keep an open mind. After all, how could anyone mess up a bagel sandwich? There's a surprisingly large amount of inside seating which was nice because I wanted to do some computer work while eating my breakfast. The staff were polite and friendly and my food was ready within 5 minutes of ordering at the counter. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on an egg bagel. While the sandwich was definitely not bad, I was a bit disappointed by what seemed like sparse toppings. Overall, it was an average breakfast, which was disappointing for what seemed like a nice independent bagel shop in a boutique sort of neighborhood. While my experience here was not terrible, I will be looking for other options the next time I'm in need of breakfast in Squirrel Hill.

I have only ever ordered breakfast from here and never went in for fresh food.I went on a huge uber eats delivery binge at the time because I just didn't feel like cooking. The university area is filled with cafes and coffee shops which don't tend to have many *real* options for breakfast. Bagel factory has omelettes and skillets available, in addition to french toast and sandwiches. You also get a bagel for free on the side (at least with the skillets and omelettes you do) which is nice and there's a bit of variety.I was never really blown away but it was decent, and much better than having crepes or something.They also make milkshakes which tend to be good, but that isn't their main thing.

The nova lox bagel is amazing good and brisket chili is one of a kind. The service by the staff is great, especially the man/owner who is so attentive!

Just an outstanding experience every time I visit Pittsburgh and grab some eats from this restaurant. Perplexing to see any negative reviews tbh.I placed a pickup order through an online app for a couple salt bagels and a pastrami sandwich. For the latter, I had no expectations other than tasty pastrami - as you can see from the photo, it was gigantic with the meat overflowing.The bagels were outstanding, mind you I live in Colorado and it's just not the same as Pittsburgh to East Coast bagels. And the assortment of this establishments pastries was incredible - I grabbed a gigantic black and white cookie, just had to have it as a snack for later.Also I wanted to add how my experience as a customer was equally outstanding. The restaurant staff and even the owner (I believe his name is Mike) were very personable, friendly and kind. Had a nice chat with Mike, as I'm a big fan of college hockey and he played Division 1 years ago.Even from that brief chat, you can tell how much pride they all take in providing an excellent product to their customers - from their baked goods to sandwiches and other things. I will be back the next time I visit!
