Avalon Downtown Pizzeria

Avalon Downtown Pizza is a must-visit for pizza lovers! I recently picked up a Brier Hill pizza to go, and it was absolutely fantastic. The crust was perfectly cooked, the sauce had just the right amount of tang, and the peppers gave it that classic Brier Hill flavor.Even though I was just grabbing a takeout order, the staff was friendly and efficient, and my pizza was ready right on time. The quality and flavor were top-notch--I'll definitely be back to try more from their menu.If you're in the mood for a great local pizza, Avalon Downtown won't disappoint!

Brier Hill Pizza is apparently Youngstown's claim to fame, and now that I've had it, I totally get it. The pizza here is fantastic, and I would definitely try the brier hill if I were you, but the buffalo chicken and taste of Italy were also delicious! With its proximity to the Covelli center, it's a great option for before or after a show too! Will be back.

It was festive but not spectacular. We were seeking spectacular. The food was good but we were starving and wanted the appetizer first. Everything was served at the same time. The server was good but not super attentive. Prices are fair. Chairs are uncomfortable. I paid 7.00 to park but that may have been my fault. I've heard amazing reviews about The Avalon so we might try it again. I think pizza is their specialty.

Pizza was good. Sweet sauce and thickPizza . Seemed like a popular place to be at for families and more. Service was friendly and atmosphere was festive .

We went to our granddaughter's dance competition in April 2024 at the DeYor Performing Arts Center and had dinner at Avalon afterward.There was a line out the door to be seated on a Saturday night, but the customers waiting in line were friendly and assured us that the line moves fast - this restaurant obviously has a regular following. We sat at the bar and again sat among regulars. I had a Cabernet, and Ray had a beer. Heaven!I can't believe the menu here!!! It reminded me of my ex's Italian family recipes. I had the fried smelts and Brier Hill Pizza (just like my ex-grandmother in-law's homemade)! My husband had wedding soup - with homemade soup breads - another Youngstown staple! I make soup breads at home, but I have never had them at a restaurant. Impressive and delicious! My husband had a meat pizza and loved it. We ordered a potato pizza and cannoli to go. I didn't realize a restaurant still existed that served authentic Italian food. By the end of the evening, my cheeks were sore from smiling! What an experience!

Love this pizza. One of my favorites. Can be a tad pricey for the size though. Either way it's a Youngstown pizza gem.

I love grabbing a pizza here from time to time because they are one of the rare establishments that offer VEGAN CHEESE!! Oh how I wish more pizza places had it, but Avalon does! Their crust is amazing and the pizza itself never disappoints. The folks that work there are always nice, too. It's a bit loud honestly if you dine in, but that's to be expected with a pizza place and it was never so bad that it bothered me. Will definitely be back again and again!

Haven't ordered from there in a long timebut have been patronizing downtown restaurants. Gave them a try. Very disappointing! We ordered pizza and wings. They charged $18 for 12 tiny frozen wings (yes I called and asked if they were the frozen battered kind- like Banquet brand)Pizza was okay.

My husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary last week! We spoke to the owner about having a party there to celebrate and she went above and beyond to make it a very special night for us! The pizza was excellent and we had ordered chicken fingers for the kids and the adults loved it so much we had to keep ordering more! The bar service was outstanding as well! Not only did we have over 30 people show up for our party the restaurant was packed because the YSU game had just ended! We are regulars but this was just the most amazing service and food! can't thank everyone there enough!

I ordered half pepperoni half cheese pizza for me and my son. After an hour wait they bring me a full pepperoni pizza. I went to the car and gave my son a slice and noticed. I brought it back in and Katrina at the counter basically told me I was lying because her boss made it and it's not full of pepperonis. I literally had to pick the pepperoni off each slice in front of her for her to take the pizza back . Then she tried to tell me since my son bit a slice it's nothing they can do. Very rude. No empathy. They acted like I was trynna steal a pizza I paid for!!!! I just wanted what I paid for
